You've mentioned before that you're an educator--teacher (what grade?) or admin?

I told my son today that he only had four weeks of school left and he was thrilled! We have sooooo many things about to happen in our little world, my poor guy is going to be fried from all the excitement.

No word yet about my docs. Oh well. They'll come when they come.

peace--
Rebecca

Since we are local and are driving in...should I lock my suitcases? What if Disney needs to look at something in my suitcase, do they do it with you there so you can unlock it if need be or do they do it while you're wandering the ship and then would have to break your locks? Anyone know the procedure?

Chris, hope you feel better soon.:goodvibes

No docs or Grace's passport yet for me!!:worried: :scared: :(

wwtbamouseketeer....

Brandy... eh.. Enchanted Playroom gets the point... I'm just the messenger.
2 of us got our Passports yesterday! yeaaaaaaaaaaa 2 to go.

I just heard back from my TA about the party room:

"I just got your documents today, and I was going to email you to confirm your address to send them to (you'll get that email in a bit)."

"For the party room, I was able to get that for our group because we had a "group" of cabins with Disney(all reservations booked under the same group id). On your sailing I assume the families are all individual bookings who just want to get together. So the group department wouldn't help, but I would suggest contacting Disney to see if there was a way to reserve space on the cruise. I know Disney doesn't have any "groups" on that sailing because they didn't allow group bookings for that cruise."

We live close to port and are planning to park there for the week. We lock our suitcases (I highly recommend it). The suitcases are put through an x-ray machine before they are loaded on the ship.

I can't believe we leave one month from today  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

My DH told me our docs have arrived. I'm looking forward to reading them. Should make a good bedtime stories for the kids.

Hi guys! I'm feeling MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better and can actually swallow coffee today w/my pills so much better overall....definitely strep and ear infections and I'm on meds so I'll be Okie Dokie by trip time (I just couldn't take all that nagging anymore about going to the docs....especially from all my friends who ARE doctors and wive's of doctors). :cool1:

Rebecca- I am an educator and have been for a dozen years now (wow, that seems so long).....I am a school psychologist, so neither a teacher, nor an administrator ( but I get both the benefits of the low paying teacher salary and the high stress of administrative decision making!) :wizard: . In twelve years at the district I am currently working in, I have worked in 3 elementaries, 1 middle school, 1 junior high and 1 high school as well as what I do now, which is just preschool kids. I love working w/the younger ones  but in our small community, I am usually the first one to tell parents that something is seriously wrong w/their precious child which can be hard news to deliver OR hear :listen: Well...probably more information than you needed on my job!

Thanks all for all the prayers and thoughts...they really help!

Also...here's a thought based on insider info (ok, my good friend who disney cruised last year)...3-4 can be a tight fit for our scoops get-together if we end up w/the 90+ people and everone getting ice cream so I wonder if we want to scoot our time up to 2:30ish or is we do want to plan a "take over the deck" time for Dis-ers on one of our days at sea (I was thinkin' Monday). Any other ideas?

Do we really have 90 people? :earseek: WOW! We could go to Deck 10 right above Scoops. 2:30 sounds good so long as everyone is getting there earlier in the day. Should we plan more than one meet? Saturday and then again someother time during the week.

Hmm we need to rethink our plans.

Glad you're feeling better. Now my son is sick. Sinus infection, fever, upset stomach and green crusty things on his eyes. Must be some sort of cyber germs going around. :confused3

Enchanted..is this the Passporter you were thinking of at Disney? I just found this, and I am wondering if anyone has this? Does it fit a real Passport? I would assume, but you know what that means... :sad2: Thanks for all your help!!

mommy3- I've seen these for sale w/out the logo at our AAA office so I bet you could find those pretty easily. I would still go w/lanyard first otherwise you will have a lot of heavy stuff hanging from your neck and start feeling like a packmule about halfway thru some great shore excursion!

dad-can you verify the numbers on your spreadsheet as I remember in my fevered, crazed condition you saying the number 90 somewhere! (was that people coming or age I'll be the next time we do this?)

One month, one month, one month!!!!!

My suggestion is to lock them, but use the TSA approved locks. They are combination locks that have a key hole so that TSA can upon them with a special key and then relock them. That's what I use when I fly. They are about $10 a piece. You can get them at Brookstone or most luggage stores.

90 people at Scoops? Yikes.

Originally we were just meeting so the kids near the same ages could meet before the went into the Kid's Clubs - to help with possible shyness, etc.

Maybe we should have those of us in that catagory meet at 2:30 PM at Scoops and maybe swimming in the Mickey Pool after and then plan something for all DIS'ers either later that afternoon/evening or the next day? I would really like for Kelly (our 5 year old) to meet some of the other younger kids that first day so that she will have a few new friends to go to the Club with that first night (when I've heard all the bonding takes place :flower: ) If there are going to be 90 people that would sort of defeat the purpose as the kids won't even see each other :rotfl:

Also, we got our documents today!! We didn't get upgraded out of a Catagory 10 but we did get on Deck 5 (near the Kids Clubs) and they gave us 2 Disney lanyards and 2 Mickey pins. That was an expected surprise!!

I agree. Maybe we should keep the Scoops meeting for the kids. Don't know if we would have time to swim before going to the 4pm drill though. Maybe we should keep it at 3pm, so there'll be time to swim before the meet at Scoops. As far as the 90 or so of us getting together, a suggestion was made for Deck 7 aft verandah. Can we all fit there? It should be a time when there isn't much else going on. (Of course, how will we know this?) Also, where do you think the other Dis'ers got that cake? Did Disney make it for them or do you think someone brought it on board? (that would seem a bit tough, juggling a cake along with luggage and kids!!). :tilt:

Sue....my plan was to try to get on the boat ASAP Saturday so we can get to the pool ASAP and swim before the get together, so earlier for the kids and some swim time sounds great. Emily is looking so forward to her "girlie group" that she can't stop from telling everyone she meets (even at the grocery store). Let's say 2:30ish then for the kiddies!

Chris,

The number of cruisers

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

based on the responses I've been tracking on the disboard is 120. (Provided all the posters are actually on our cruise.

But a much smaller group :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: of only 51 have affirmed meeting at Scoops.

Hope that helps. let me know if you need any other AR analysis on the posts.

PS wmjivey. While a home brew would be a treat, with limit packing space, don't waste it on breakable objects. I have faith that Disney stocks a few adult beverages. I’ll buy you one if you offer to give me a cliff note summary of the home brewing. I’ve always been interested and think that will make a wonderful retirement hobby. Not sure how to describe the types of beers I like. Some of the ones I like are Shiner Bock, Fat Tire, Alaskan Amber, St Stan’s Amber.

I had never seen that thing but that looks RAD! (Am I 80's or what!?) The ones I was talking about were similar to that, but I've never seen Disney type ones. Where did you find that web page. What intested me most was the little thing on the side of thr page saying "Possporters Feild Guide to the Disney Cruise Line and it's ports of call (Includes new west coast ports!)" BUT...it's under Upcoming Edition, did you notice? Well they better HURRY UP! And the "Disney lanyards" I was talking about are way smaller. I didn't know if you wanted something just to hold your KTTW or something for your passport and all. The Disney lanyards will be a cute Disney-decor flat rope type thing to hang around your neck with a plastic pouch at the bottom big enough for credit card sized things. Like an annual passport or something. I'll get you something cute and bring it along. If you like it you can keep it, if you hate it, I'll take it back. We have passes and we go about every Sunday, so it's really no trouble. But if you like that blue PassPorter thing, I would suggest getting that too. I think I just may get one. Then I'll have that for shore excursions, and then the little one for on board. Sound good?

ps~Who's your favorite charcter? Or would you like a lanyard that has a "50 anniversary" type thing?

:cheer2: I am glad you like this one! I think that's what I am going to do! If it comes and is too big or whatever, we can always run into DTD when we're in LA..we have a few days before to play around, do you don't need to grab anything :cool1: I don't know where I found that link, I was on a thread and saw it...so I clicked! :cool1:  I finally think I found what I was looking for!

Have fun this weekend! :moped:

Hey 3G, Like I said in a previous thread I will be bringing the good stuff in two LTR coke bottles, I have a special cap that allows me to carbinate the beer so it won't be flat. As for space the kids don't use all the space allowed for them so I leave the green leisure suit and bring more beer. :)
The Man

Oh no! Don't say "no" to the leisure suit! I was looking so forward to seeing that one!!!! But if you are like my dad, you would be happy to pack the suitcase FULL of beer and hang out in whatever you wore on the first day...LOL! Seriously, John, I think you and dad will get along JUST FINE and have lots of fun playtime together....which is good news since I can get rid of both my boys w/your family...hmmm, then Emi w/the girlie group and now me and mom are spa bound! Hey, Gail (NMM), wanna join us for grown up girlie time when we send the boys off to play?

Chris,
We are hoping to board early and go right to the pool too. I know Mark (DH) will want food at some point. Does anyone know if the pizza place by the pool will be open then? Or do they wait to open that until we are at sea?

Hopefully we will see you guys by the Mickey Pool prior to Scoops!! I need to go through all the photos again!!
