wow, I've been off the board for quite a few days and trying to catch up. I've been SO busy.
Kelly turned 5 today!! We had 22 kids plus parents, friends and family here today! I can't believe she is 5 already.
I also was in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday this week (for my brothers wedding). To the person who posted about the Canopy Tour in Puerto Vallarta and the other who is afraid of heights. My new sister-n-law, a friend of hers and myself went on two of the rides ON TOP of the Stratosphere in Las Vegas 110 stories up!!. The sling-shot one that shoots you straight up, and this othere one that hangs you over the side. Scariest rides I've ever been on.

Okay, no Speedo's, please....I'm begging!! :rotfl:

Jedisan - thanks for taking over the list.

I can't believe people are getting their documents already!! How exciting. I guess we really are only a little over a month away. Seems like it is coming fast now!!

We are on a GTY room, do you know if they will tell us our room number in our documents or not until we board??

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I am on the West Coast and I was on for the first question you asked at 6. Whatever time works for you. :wave2:  :thewave:

Hey Grammie, I might be wrong but I seem to remember if you bought a bottle of wine, they keep it and open it at every dinner till it is gone. Can anyone back me with this? Oh if anyone is interested it takes 329 gallons of tea to fill a teacup on the MatHatter's ride.

I bow to The Man :worship: .... THANK YOU for clearing that up... I have looked EVERYWHERE for the answer to that question... I KNOW that I have read it somewhere in one of my many DL park books, but couldn't find it. You ARE the trivia king. :worship:

grammiegail... my DSnL Julie is also a wine drinker and none of the rest of us are... If you are also early seating, perhaps the two of you could split dinner bottles... :hyper2:

Red or white or bubbly????????

Sandy, I found this bit of knowlegde on my son's juice glass I believe we bought at Mickey-D's several years ago, it also had the answer to the last question. Who said drinking juice isn't educational. :)

I will be brewing beer for the cruise in the next couple of days, anyone chime in if a particular style floats your boat. I was thinking a nice olde english bitter, with a hint of honey background more malty than hoppy taste. What do you guys think?

What a busy board.

We've had a crazy week. Took DS (4) to ER on Weds. Had to transport him via advanced life support to UC Davis Med Center and admit to pediatric ICU. He's home now. I held up fairly well during but now I cry all of the time thinking about it. I'm scared to go on the cruise now. He goes to the dr tomorrow to check on his progress. It appears to be just a one time thing and no need to change any plans but the thought of being away from a major hospital is now scaring me. He went from being a boy with a tummy ache to a boy vomiting blood in just 3 hours. I can't get over how quickly he went downhill.

We had my DD's birthday party yesterday. We didn't have it at home so it was fairly easy but it was still trying since I just wanted to sleep after several sleeples nights.

On a lighter note, I've enjoyed reading these posts and they are helping me get over my worries about the cruise.

The thought of somebody wearing a lime green speedo truly makes me happy.

DH and I have been thinking about doing the Canopy tour. Have any of you heard if it's soldout? Scared to do this though. I don't want to be away from DS for more than 5 minutes and honestly the thought of leaving him on a cruise ship in Mexico while we go on an excursion is terrifying me. DH and I were totally ok with this idea up until this past Wednesday.

Sue you are brave to go on those rides. I love thrill rides but I wouldn't be able to stand doing them that high up.

Rebecca, did you make it to the hot seat? DH's friend was on but never made it to the hot seat. Poor guy never lived it down. He was the slowest person on the fastest finger every round.

OMG Carrie... :scared1: I pray that he is over whatever was wrong with him... please give details of what his symptoms were and what the prognosis is. What brought it on???

Carrie, all my good wishes for you and Sammy's safe and fast recovery from this event. If there's anything we can do! (good thoughts from many people can do great things!) :grouphug:

Trivia note: I'll post the Q of the day after 3 pm East Coast time, which is noon pacific, I think.

Beer note: I like stouts and darker brews :earboy2:

On a personal note, in one week I will have finally, FINALLY completed my bachelor's degree! (In history....is it any wonder I love trivia?)

I'm hoping tomorrow is Document Day for us!!

For the postcard exchange, would you all like to see Asheville, NC; the Blue Ridge Mountains; or UNC-Asheville? Or should I bring a selection?

peace--
Rebecca

Carrie,

I'm so sorry your son went through this recent crisis. I pray all is well with him now. My hubby had his first heart scare two weeks ago and was hospitalized for 4 days. We, too, wondered if we could or should continue with our plans.

After getting reassurances from his cardiologist, we are going ahead. Like you, I had second thoughts on excursions for different reasons. We did end up not signing for any, but we were leaning in that direction anyway. We will just enjoy some spontaneous things in port or enjoy the Magic by staying aboard.

I would suggest insurance, if you don't have it already. There is good medical care in Mexico and anyone can be evacuated by helicopter, if need be. There are also good facilities onboard. The insurance is not that expensive for peace of mind. It covers the evacuation cost, if it comes to that. I'm so sorry you even have to think about it right now. Hope he is all better and will never go through this again.

On a lighter note, I found a lime green hat at Walmart yesterday. I wore it all day. :earsboy: It is a bucket hat so I may be able to adapt it for Crazy Hat Bingo, too, if they have that event again. It was only 2.82 and it is reversible with blue, green and white stripes, just in case I ever run into a group who adopts their Meet colors as blue, green and white stripes. That would be a fetching combo on a speedo. :rotfl:

Having just read through a bunch of posts on another disney board, I have come to the conclusion that our POTC night will be the third night of sailing, an at-sea day, Monday the 30th. I'd like to have confirmation of this of course, but right now I'm putting my money on Monday.

www.intercot.com is the other board I read sometimes, although they're not nearly as active as we are, sometimes nuggets sneak through.

Carrie - so sorry to hear about Sammy. We're glad to hear he's home. Please know we will be sending good thoughts your way. Fortunately, there is still a month to go before we leave. Hopefully, he's rebounded completely and you will feel more comfortable. We will keep our fingers crossed for you.

Moley - Sorry to hear about your DH's heart scare. Good thoughts are going to you as well.

Rebecca,

I've been trying to get some idea of what we can expect, too. I lean more toward our cruise being similar in scheduling to the Eastern Caribbean nights. They have as many days at sea as we do and only the end of the week is slightly different, since we have 3 ports of call in 3 consecutive days and we have no stop at a private island like Castaway Cay the last day.

My guess is different from yours, although anybody's guess is good for now. My own thinking is we will have formal night on Monday, like the Eastern Caribbean cruise has. Captain's Gala will remain for Thursday, even though that is a port day at Cabo San Lucas.

Technically, we are not going to be getting a clue on what to expect until we see our Navigator daily guides onboard. However, I've come up with a guess, based on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary and the port times I see on our docs we got this last week.

Warning: the following is pure speculation! My guess only.

Saturday, May 28, set sail at 4:00. Welcome Aboard Show. Dinner casual, regular fare at rotation restaurant.

Sunday May 29, first day at sea. That night possible new show of Twice Charmed, dinner casual, regular fare at rotation restaurant.

Monday May 30, second day at sea. That night Formal?, showing of Golden Mickeys maybe, regular fare at third rotation restaurant.

Tuesday May 31, Port of Call Puerto Vallarta 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Possible special theme night of Pirate or Mexicalifragilistic. First theme night menu in rotational restaurant, all restaurants serving the same menu. Dress would be casual. This could be either special movie night for the show or Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer night in the Walt Disney Theater.

Wednesday June 1, Port of Call Mazatlan 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. If Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer wasn't last night, likely it will be tonight. Theme menu could be "Small World" featuring selections from international cuisine, dress casual.

Thursday June 2, Port of Call Cabo San Lucas 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Captain's Gala night with the lobster special. Dress is semi-formal. Disney Dreams is the show.

Friday June 3, last day at sea. Traditional farewell dinner, dress casual, baked alaska on parade. Farewell show in the Walt Disney Theater.

THE ABOVE IS ONLY MY GUESS BASED ON THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN SCHEDULE. WE JUST DON'T KNOW YET.

Still there are those of us who are obsessive planners. I'm always willing to make guesses so that I can plan Spa treatments and Palo night and brunch. My guess is based on the fact that the ship runs like a well oiled machine and I don't expect the machine to turn over that drastically for this new itinerary. In order for it to run well, there has to be some familiarity and repeat events.

I do think we could get some nice surprises in the way of souvenirs available for purchase, maybe a new menu item. Maybe even a surprise theme night. However, so many things will run the same so as to run smoothly. That's why I'm banking on the schedule above to plan my own events. I'm sharing this only because we are all having fun speculating what to expect. This is just another guess, no better or worse than any others.

We will all know for sure in 5 weeks!

I found lime green flip flops at Walmart today for $1. :cool1: And I saw a lime green bucket hat like Moley described, but this one had green Hawaiian flowers on the reverse side.

Question of the day:

Goofy has around since 1932. What was his original name? For bonus: How many names has Goofy been known by?
