Well, dunk me in sheep-dip and call me stinky! I have no idea what you all are talking about......Evinrude is what my DH calls the handblender he uses when he makes soup and who is Jim MacDonald?????

Ha ha haaaa. :rotfl2: Rccllp had asked a trivia question early this morning. About the Rescuers. Evinrude is the name of a Dragonfly that helps them. And Jim MacDonald is the man who provided the voice for the Dragonfly in the cartoon.

Hi all!!
I have not posted since January, but I have been encouraged to return ;) , so, I am back and TOTALLY-OFF-THE-WALL-EXCITED about this cruise!!!

So, I was wondering, and this may have been perviously discussed, but any feedback on any of the excursions? Any thoughts? I have been looking and from what I can see, I am not really all that intererested in the excursions in Cabo (except maybe the Beach visit :sunny: IF there are JET-SKI :boat: rentals available!)... so, I was thinking of renting a Scooter/Moped :moped: and exploring... Anyone familiar with Cabo enough to say whether that would be a good or bad idea?

I can't wait to get to know all of you...! :grouphug:

I forget where it is at the moment, but my DH and I are doing the Zip Line through the rain forest trees thing. I imagine it will be like the scene out of The Medicine Man. The only other thing that really interested me was the horse back ride through the rain forest, you get to stop and swim by some lagoon with a waterfall or something like that. Others in may party are doing the Kayak thing, and Dolphin swim thing. Some diver was just bitten in half by a great white in Austrailia last week. Far away, but enough of a headline to keep me the HECK out of the water. So, no Kayak/snorkle for me.

Welcome back, Ron!

I have been to Cabo a few times (although not on a cruise) and could not recommend renting a scooter/moped. The drivers are pretty reckless and being exposed on a scooter/moped/motorcycle is a dangerous endevour.:crazy2:
Medano Beach has several watersport rental shacks (including jet-skis). You
can get a cab there (approx $6.00 USD), a bus (approx. 60 cents) or book the beach excursion. You can just walk around town to explore and shop. Check out Bob7's "Mex Riv photos and cruise review" on the cruise critic message board. He gives a great report with details, Cabo included.
Hope this helps! We are waiting to see how we feel by the time we get to Cabo. We may not want to get off the ship!

Rose, I'd say it would be too late if the ship was pulling INTO the port in California with all of us onboard! I bet I'm not the only one keeping a running list of names + screen names with cabin numbers and other info. I think it'll keep getting updated right up to the minute we sail, and then some, if anyone checks emails while we're on vacation that is!

So join in for tag!

It's funny you mention checking email on the cruise. On our Hurricane Jeanne shortened cruise last September I checked that sailing's cruise thread every night before dinner just to check on how everyone was faring. I'm addicted. :)

We got our docs today. It feels so soon and yet so far away at the same time.

HI West Coast Cruiser,

I haven't been on for a day or two and I had to read through 4 pages of posts. OMG :scared1:

Welcome to Socks! We're almost neighbors. When are you flying out to the west coast? We're on Southwest out of Philly on Friday.

Mickey Freak, you might want to contain yourself. There'll be a lot of us girls with cameras. That speedo photo may make it's way onto the disboards. LOL :cool1: Count my dh and dad in on the baseball and beer.

Jedisan, our party consists of :

Bob, Ellen (me), Kate & Brett (poconoboatniks)
Bob & Helen Green (Ellen's parents - no dis name)
Linda & Colleen Green (Ellen's sisters - no dis name)

I love the Disney trivia idea. The only problem I have is that I have to ask kate (10 1/2 dd) for help. This is a great way to practice for Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer.

My parents got their docs. today. So we're doc dancin' again :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cool1: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :cool1: Any one else doin the dance?

Hi almost neighbor, we are flying out Wednesday on UsAir. Janet and Sue each had enough frequent flyer miles to fly free so we've been holding our breath for the last nine months that they were still flying in May  I didn't even realize SW flew to CA from Philly but we've started using them for our WDW flights. We will be at the DisneyLand and doing DL for the three days befrore the cruise.

Hey Enchanted,

WWTBAM is a Disney game show based on WWTOB A Millionaire. Contestants can win onboard account credits and the top prize is a 7 night cruise. DS and DH played last year. They ended up with $145 onboard credit. DS also got a contestant's pin. It was so funny because DD is the Disney expert, but ds was chosen. We knew the answer to the question, but hubby didn't oh well. ds loved the attention after it was over. People asked if he was the kid in the show. He was disappointed when we got back to cabin because he thought they were going to deliver the cash to our cabin. Too cute for words!

Rose,

We used Southwest for the first last Feb. We were a little concerned about the boarding proceedures, but it worked out just fine.

We're in San Diego and Ananheim after the cruise. DD, Kate, will be celebrating her 11 birthday :bday: in DL. Our kids don't know any of the details of this trip.

OMG I HAVE to get picked for WWTBAM! That is right up my alley. I would LOVE it. I was never very good at math or history or anything like that. But I looooooved me some Disney! Ha ha ha haaa.

Make sure that you stop by City Hall and let them know about the b-day. DD will get a sticker with her name on it and everyone will wish her a happy birthday all day! She also gets a special phone call from a Disney character wishing her happy b-day. Also, stop by the Mission Tortilla Factory in California Adventure and she will get a bag of fresh made flour tortillas! The birthday cake decorating party at the Plaza is also nice. The reason I know all this is that I celebrated my 50th b-day there in March. Hey, it's never too late to have a Disney b-day especially when you are the same age as the park! :rotfl2:

PS - They don't ask for ID so anyone can have a b-day any day at DL or CA! :rolleyes1

Poco, please don't get me confused with the wife, the real Mickey-freak, and forget about any picture taking blackmail. I have appeared acting like idiot across the USA, from the JumboTron at a Twins game doing my version of the FAT DUDE dance, to playing musical chairs on center ice at a Phx Coyote hockey game, while dressed up as Elvis. I plan to make this cruise a very happy one indeed! :)
The Man

Hey Man,

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You made my day. Can't wait to meet you guys, but I have to tell you DH is a YANKEE fan. He also loves the Cubs. :scared1:

Poco :cool1:

The girls & I went to DL yesterday. We endured a bit of rain, but overall had a great time. We checked out the new Buzz Lightyear attraction. It was a great - video game and ride all in one. As you are exiting, they have terminals set up so you can e-mail your picture. This ride has Fast Pass available and I highly recommend using it. :moped:

The park itself is looking beautiful as they are making the final touches for the 50th Celebration on May 5th.

DD-Katie-5, lost her first tooth there yesterday. She was rewarded with a visit by the tooth fairy. :cheer2:

Well, we're five weeks out. Yay  We have not yet received our documents, hopefully sometime next week.

Got a question and I know that someone out there has the answer because I vaguely remember reading something about this way way back on this thread (and I'm admittedly just too dang lazy to retrace it). :worship: Here's the question, what is the wine package during dinner???? I'm a wine-drinker :drinking: , the DH is not (beer :drinking1 and vodka are his game). I don't want to order a whole bottle of wine at dinner because I want to be able to enjoy it and not be a really BAD  influence on the grandkids (well, I guess you could say that I could be the example of "don't" behavior.). So, what's the story? It seems to me that champagne was included???????

grammiegail... my DSnL Julie is also a wine drinker and none of the rest of us are... If you are also early seating, perhaps the two of you could split dinner bottles... :hyper2:

I was actually on WWTBAM with Regis four years ago...that's kind of why I wanted to start the trivia thing now :) I'll bore you to tears with the story on the ship if anyone asks!

Question for Saturday, Five Weeks from Sailing:

What is Donald Duck's middle name? (Yes, he has one!)

Score so far:
EnchantedPlayroom aka Brandy, 1

peace--
Rebecca

Jedisan is correct; DD's middle name is Fauntleroy. We learn this when he gets his draft card in the cartoon "Donald Gets Drafted."

Score:
EnchantedPlayroom 1
Jedisan 1

RCCLLAP - You're killing us. (Sandysplayhouse and Enchantedplayroom) We knew that answer but we were out shopping. Noooooo. Can we have a designated time for the questions?
