May 27th 2007 Wonder Cruise. Anyone else on it?

Cruise Docs just arrived at my house via UPS. I can not wait to finally be on vacation. It's almost here!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Lori! :lmao: That was some dream. I haven't had any cruise dreams but I often have that type of dream when it gets close to time for school to start. Tom called DCL yesterday and they told him our cruise docs were printed and would be sent out this week. He couldn't stand the uncertainty any longer. BTW, he passed his CFP exam (certified financial planner) so now he can truly enjoy our vacation.  :cheer2: :cheer2:

I've been having cruise/work nightmares for about a month now. I'm also responsible for planning the cruise fo all 12 family members! That just adds to the stress. I haven't received cruise docs yet.

Michele,

I believe that DCL will send the documents to our travel agent first and the travel agent will forward them to us in a little goodie packet from them. I really wasn't expecting to get them until next week anyway.

I'm going tomorrow to get some more things for packing.

Lori

Yep, I'm planning a little late here... :rolleyes1

I was just trying to type up a basic list of things and I'm so confused! I was looking at navigators from a 4 night Wonder, but I noticed the sea day was different that ours?!? :confused3

Does anyone know which shows are being performed each night, which night is pirate night and are they doing the Celebrate the Journey on our last night - the sea day?

Help!

Shan, was that the Navigator from 4/22? If so, I believe that was the cruise where they had to make an emergency return to Cape Canaveral due to someone being ill. That threw the schedule off so they had to quickly rearrange the order of the days.

Just received "cruise doc's" in mail yesterday!!! Can't hardly wait...17 days until wedding and familymoon!! Sometimes I look around my house and think that I'm the only person excited and yet anxious about there only being 17 days to go...

All bags packed except for carry-on and one last suitcase with last minute "oh-shoot-I'll-need-this" stuff.

I hate being so excited though, because in a "wink-of-an-eye" I'll be returning home. Sometimes I think the excitement leading up to it is the most fun!

See everyone VERYYYYY SOOOOON!

Sack:woohoo:

Will the cruise ever get here? I have been involved in hosting a large (300 people) conference this week and if another person "whines" to me about any little thing, I will explode! Am I allowed to send them to their room like a child???
Once the day count gets to single digits, I can really start to get excited. I am hoping my TA calls soon with my travel documents!
If there is only one piece of advice I would give a "newbie", it would be to buy a small clock that lights up. I found one at Target for about $7.00. The cute clock beside the bed cannot be seen in the dark and let me tell you, it gets DARK in the middle of the ocean.
The days are ddddddrrrrrrrraaaaaaaggggggggggggiiiiiinnnnnnngggggggggg.....

Tell me about it Budrose. I teach pre-k and let me just say that the last 2 weeks of school are not pretty. The kids are pretty much just sick of each other and spend all their time either tattling or argueing. Just 5 more days, then they have their final program and go home. I can do that... I hope! ;)

Cruise docs for my stateroom came today but not the ones for dh's stateroom. Hah! He's been anxious about them all week and now mine are here and his aren't. Oh, well. I expect his will be here tomorrow then.

Michele,
We are in the same boat. We received our cruise docs today, but my Mom did not. We live in the same house, so Mom was a little worried. I told her not to. They'll probably get here within few days.
We have the clothes all set aside and placed in the suitcases. I'm going to go through our checklist again this weekend to make sure we aren't missing anything.

Hi, I am new to this so please forgive. I have a daughter who will be a couple weeks shy of 17 on the cruise. Am wondering if most kids her age do the teen club or if they are younger. I notice you have a 17 year old and that tiptoen has a 16 year old son. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to encourage her? I don't really want to force her to go to the teen club but I think she would have a lot of fun if there are other kids her age. Thanks

My DS will be two months shy of eighteen on this trip. He absolutely loves the "Teen Loft". When we went in Oct05, I was as concerned as you are because he's not a very extroverted individual. However, we checked it out when we got on board and he was stoked at the opportunity to be independent and kind of "on his own" during our trip. We made a deal...we left a pad of paper and pen in the cabin and asked that during the day, as he came back and forth, just leave us a note as to what he was doing, how he was doing and be sure to meet us in the cabin @ 5:30 to get ready for dinner. He never once failed to meet these expectations. As soon as dinner was over (and he never "rushed" to get done), he asked to return to the "Teen Loft" and our other request was that upon the closing of the "Teen Loft" (2:30am), he return within 15 minutes to the cabin. Every night he would be back in our cabin @ 2:45am. I was so happy and proud as he is not one that remembers to follow directions very well. One of the reasons we schedule this 2nd cruise at this time was that he had so much fun at the "Teen Loft" and such a great time on the cruise, we felt it only fair to try and schedule our 2nd cruise prior to him turning 18 so that he could enjoy the "Teen Loft" again (you can only join the teen group between the ages of 13 - 17). I really can't speak highly enough of this as the counselors are awesome and they really KNOW teens very well. He was never bored and was always looking forward to the next activity they were participating in. Although he didn't say much to us while on the boat about how much fun he was having, you could tell when other teens passed us on the ship and they greeted each other by name and talked about what they were going to do that evening. He can hardly wait until we leave again...16 more days!!!!:yay:

It's really great that there is a nice and safe place where the teens can hang out and just enjoy being a teen. When we leave on this cruise, my DS will be 5 months shy of 13 but you'd never know it, he's 5ft 7in tall. Anyway he'll just have to give the oceaneers club a try with his 10 year old sister. But next time we cruise it will be the teen loft for him:cool1:

I got home yesterday and saw my cruise docs waiting at my door:banana:

We leave for Cocoa beach 2 weeks from today and I'm jumping out of my skin with excitment!! It's getting so hard to concentrate at work (which is where I am right now, see what I mean:goodvibes )

Sack66:
I am impressed - I haven 't even gotten out my suitcase and you are practically packed!
As I have said before, I am packing MUCH less this time campared to last year - people really don't care what you are wearing. Comfort and ease are the theme for me!
I got my "new" CC card in the mail yesterday - wasn't expecting it, but was pleasantly surprised. It was in a really cute "poster" type envelope that opens up into a cartoon of Mickey over the water. It also listed all the perks of being a CC Member. Still no call from the TA about documents - but not worried one bit!

Buddrose - two reasons I'm packed so early...1. getting married Sunday morning of departure - have to appear as excited about wedding as cruise...NOT! Just kidding...as well, I'm packing much lighter than first "go-round". First cruise, had matching everything. I must have packed as if I was attending Academy Awards Camp but learned quickly, not necessary. This time, way less than last time...as you said, "comfort is key"!! The difference is that when we cruised in Oct05, we just did the cruise. This time, upon disembarkation, we travel to WDW Caribbean Beach Resort and stay another 4 days. I've instructed everyone to go the "comfort route" and I promised to do an evening of laundry "around the pool" (where the laundry room is located at CBR), if need be. Right now, I just want clothing that expands with the bloating that comes from too many marguaritas!!!

Like you - its very distracting here at work both for me and my co-workers! I know that they are verrrrryyyy tired of hearing about my pending nuptials and "familymoon" but they have three choices...1. DEAL WITH IT, 2. DIE FROM IT, or 3. GET THE ... OVER IT!~ LOL Actually, they appear to be far more excited than my "soon-to-be" and children...I wonder if I should be concerned...Nah...anyhoo....COUNTING DOWN!

Steph,

As Sack said, don't worry about your daughter not participating in the teen club. My daughter was 14 the last time we cruised and she is very shy also. We took her to find the club and after that she was hooked. She didn't participate in many of the organized activities though. She just liked being there around the music. She even started long distance "dating" a boy she met there. He lived in Jacksonville and we live in Lousiana so in my mind it was an ideal relationship. I think they lasted about 6 months or so.

This year my 14 year old son will be joining her and I think she will have lots more confidence with him there. They get along great and have a lot of the same interests so she will feel like she has to show him around and be in charge.

Maybe she will hook up with your daughter and make her comfortable. What is your daughter's name? My daughter's name is Erica and my son is Nicholas. My sister is wehavesix who posts here also. She has a 13 year old son that will be with them also named David. I imagine Nick and David will separate themselves from Erica if she finds someone else to hang with.

They are all 3 really into music and drawing. Hopefully, we won't have trouble getting them to leave the club. Just kidding! Erica did really well last time at meeting her curfew.

Lori

Got back from lunch to see a fresh email from my TA that she had my Doc's! The Cruise Authority is just a couple miles up the street, so to me that's as good as delivered and so I'm doin' the dance. (And I've been checked-in on-line for weeks...:goodvibes )

Going to try to have DS give Wareagle's boy another contact, and this is really shaping up now. I must be swamped at work--I've only laid out my DCL polo shirts and a few other things I like to take, not fully "packed" or at least set aside. Conducting a trial all next week, extremely limited 'net circumstances so won't be checking in for a bit. This cruise will be timed so right, I'll need it!

I will be traveling w/"new" DH, DS17, DS8, mom & dad, sis & her DH, her DS11, and her DS5. It wouldn't be a vacation w/o my family and since this was our second voyage on the DWonder, we decided to tack our  wedding on the morning of departure! We are all truly excited. Upon disembarkation, we'll all travel to WDW, staying at the CBR from 5/31 - 6/3.

Does Sis' DS11 like basketball? I've got a DS11 and he's been swapping emails w/ Wareagle's DS12. We want family time too, but I also want DS to have someone younger than 43 to play with sometimes, too!

Shan, was that the Navigator from 4/22? If so, I believe that was the cruise where they had to make an emergency return to Cape Canaveral due to someone being ill. That threw the schedule off so they had to quickly rearrange the order of the days.

Michele

Yes, that medical situation was the culprit for the rearranged schedule.

I used to think Barb & Tony's site had multiple sets of Navigators, so that you could have checked something other than the most recent, maybe that is no longer the case.
