May 27th 2007 Wonder Cruise. Anyone else on it?

Really, for a 4 day cruise, if you take one nice skirt and/or slacks with different tops, you are all set. Doing the whole "outfit" thing is a waste of money and space. You will need the more casual clothes that you wear for a longer period of time during the day (other than swimsuits)!
Just got a call from my TA and we have been upgraded!!! DD and DGS will be so excited when I let them know! Now if those documents will only arrive - we can "get this party started"!

Congratulations on the upgrade! What kind of upgrade did you get?
Can anyone access their reservations? I keep getting a message about system being down.

in regards to the luggage tags that come with the documentation, I was wondering since our cruise is just 4 days long, if each one of my family members put there clothes in their own duffle bag and carried it themselves, would we need to check anything in and have to wait for it to be delivered to our room? or will they just let us carry our own stuff after it has been checked though whatever security means they have?

Would this be any less of a hassle than packing it all in one suitcase and checking it in and waiting for it to hit our cabin and also the night before we leave having to pack our suitcase up and leave it to be taken.

Am I making any sense?

There are certainly those who would agree with your thinking. There are certain issues that make me choose not to go that route, which may or may not apply to your circumstances: 1) We tend to board more than an hour before we can access the stateroom. We have lugged heavy carry-ons on the past. A pain to keep up with such items while going to various favorite spots on the ship. Let someone else carry it. And for disembarkation, we have to go through the same area as luggage pickup anyway to get through customs--so again, let someone else lug the bag around, and I'll just have a very very modest sized bag w/ last night's jammies and my toothbrush and other such items. Then I have a porter bring our bags to the car. Since we drive to the port, we tend to overpack slightly, to give us more clothing options to allow for more activity choices or temperature/mood options (might feel like dressing up or down, or might go out and get sweaty and be more active if I am not already down to my last shirt) since we are not dealing with airline luggage requirements.

Disney is so efficient at disembarkation that we don't believe there is much of a time savings to be had by carrying off my own bag. We've had it out the night before, w/o much hassle, and the next morning we've been fed breakfast, cleared customs, have the bags packed in the trunk, and driving out of the parking lot by 8:06 a.m.

WOW! thanks for the insight. This being our first cruise I didn't really know what to expect and thought that I could cut down on the hassle of luggage check-in, but you sure have shined new light on my ignorance and I see no reason not to just take one big suitcase and a small 'overnight' duffle bag and just check it in.

That's one less thing to have to worry about.:goodvibes

You all are great!!

Totally agree with Logan1, as we also drive and why carry luggage when you don't have to. Just carry on a small bag with your swimsuit so you can swim if you care to before you are allowed in your stateroom.
We were upgraded to a Cat. 6 (veranda) from a Cat. 8 (porthole window). It truly wouldn't have mattered if we had stayed in a Cat. 8, but WAS a very nice surprise! There must be a "run" on Cat. 8 for this cruise!
Now, let's just pray for perfect weather and warm sea's at CC! :goodvibes

I think we're gonna put on our swimsuits with coverups at the Radisson and go straight to the pool once we get onboard.

22 days and counting... until cruise time

21 days until we are in MGM.

I bought my youngest ds some red and black disney crocs today. We went to get him some crocs because he's the only one in the family without some. When we got to the store, he immediately went to the disney ones. Luckily, they had one pair in his size.

Dh pulled out the suitcases last night. We only have 3 weekends to prepare for the cruise!:cool1:

I called to see what movies will be showing on our cruise since that is always the thing my son is the most excited about doing. :happytv:

They are: Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End:banana:
Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Terabithia
Prestige
Dejavu
Guardian
Santa Clause 3
Cars
Primeval

Just 3 weeks to go!!!

Lori

Thanks for checking on the movies. My guys are going to be so excited when they read this list.

Hey Lori,

Have y'all gotten your cruise documents yet?

Has anyone else?

Mom says Judy is packed already!

See you in 3 weeks,
Michele

Thanks for checking on the movie list! I was wondering what would be playing.:)

Cool about POTC 3! I wonder how long the line will be to get in?!? I hope they show it during a time when the kid clubs are open.

I'm so impressed with those packing. I still gotta buy some clothes. At least I bought some sunscreen today. Does that count? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Haven't gotten docs yet.

please don't use the word ignorance--its all a learning curve, for everyone here, from first cruise on up. Hope it helps you have a more enjoyable first day. Keep prescription meds with you in your carry-on as well.

Thanks for checking on the movies. My guys are going to be so excited when they read this list.

Have Patrick email Harris w/ which movies he wants to see--I just emailed the list to Harris so he will see it, too.

No documents here yet either. I don't really expect to get them for another week or so. I'm also waiting for my husband's passport to come in. According to the website, it is taking approximately 10 weeks to process. That will put his arriving the week before we leave. I told him to go earlier but he is a procrastinator. Oh, well. We'll just use his birth certificate if it doesn't make it in time.

We're heading to the movies right now and when we get done we are going to the party stores to look for pirate paraphernalia. Trying to get everyone in the mood for the cruise.

I will be traveling w/"new" DH, DS17, DS8, mom & dad, sis & her DH, her DS11, and her DS5. It wouldn't be a vacation w/o my family and since this was our second voyage on the DWonder, we decided to tack our  wedding on the morning of departure! We are all truly excited. Upon disembarkation, we'll all travel to WDW, staying at the CBR from 5/31 - 6/3.

Welcome aboard and congratulations on your marriage! We are part of a group of 18. Just 20 more days to go!

Will be on the wonder with DW, DS 15 & DD 13 as well as our Dis Friends & their kids DD 14, DS 10 & DD 7party:

Welcome, AZ Goof Troop. Seems like there are going to be a lot of large groups traveling together on this cruise.

I had my first cruise nightmare last night. We had 1 hour until our flight and nothing was packed yet. My daughter was off playing with a bunch of little girls. (She's 17 so that was a little weird.) My son was just sitting around in his pajamas. (He's 14 and that isn't weird.) I rushed my son to the shower and all I was worried about for my daughter was that she safely pack her hair straightener. I have no clue where my husband was at the time. Luckily, I woke up before things got any worse.

I know this is just the first of many panicky dreams that I will have until 5/25/07 when we leave for Orlando.
