Is anyone else going to train into Florence???? (I may need help carry Tracy's cheese and vinegar back) I've been there, don't want a guide. I don't think my kids want to do all the museums, but it is an amazing city.

:teeth:

I got my room assignment last night too. I'm happy with it. 2616, Cat 9 aft.

I'm right there with you. I have to drive to not get carsick. I haven't heard of Hylands. Can you buy them at local stores too? Meclizine has really worked for me, but the patch they say takes 24hrs. My problem is that it makes my eyes dialate so I can't see anything close with my contacts on. If I wear my glasses, I can't be out in the sun. Double whammy....Grrrr:eek:

You can buy them at health food stores normally. I know that Wild Oats and Whole Foods carry them...itf they don't stock them they can order. We have Amazon Prime so we get free shipping so it makes it a better deal for me.

I understand completely though. Nothing like puking your guts out everywhere you go. I am working on sitting in the backseat of the minivan with the front seat headrest off... so far... not so good! :( Everyone in the family understands. So I will be fighting for the front seats on all tour busses! :)

Find me on the ship and I can share some of my stash if things get rough :)

Motion sickness: Try to start taking your meds a few hours before you get on the ship. They work better at preventing symptoms- rather than stopping symptoms.

Other alternatives are ginger tabs, ginger tea, sucking on a piece of ginger root, or ginger soda. (I am alternative friendly)

I tried the scopolamine patch last cruise- not only were my pupils dialated- but my mouth was like the saraha. I decided I would rather be sick- It was horrid.

I am fond of zofran for nausea- that stuff works wonders! It won't make your motion sickness go away, but it really does help with nausea. I think it can be pretty expensive and you do have to get a prescription.

C,

Did you book that rate yourself? I was told that interline rate was guaranteed Cat. 8 or better. We're calling today to see if they'll bump us up to a Cat. 7 and get somewhere in the middle of the ship.

If not, I may be O.D'ing on Meclinzine. If I'm that asleep....Please nobody throw me overboard....:lmao:

The Cat 7's are at the back of the Boat!!! :confused3

What's NOT to love!!! :) I get MAD when I shop Amazon and what I want can't be bought through prime!!! We are bad with Amazon though. My DH just ordered a ga-gillion bars of soap and dove hand soap pumps. We hunt the bargins and coupons and get great deals for our "hurricane buckets".

Hurricane bucket=what goes in house during a storm and in the car if we evacuate.

Okay..on a different note... just flipping channels on tv and jeff foxworty just told a lady on that show "are you smarter than a 5th grader"... "It looks like the light in your easy bake oven is flickering!" I almost fell off the sofa!

Hi everyone. We are in Rooms 2122, 2124, 2132 and some other number I can't remember. Are these Hyland's motion sickness pills something like Humprhey's teething tablets? There were a homeopathic remedy that woorked great for our daughter.

Ah, Zofran...I know that from my mom's Chemo days. It is a miracle drug. Will you bring it w/you???? Somebody has to be the pharmacist.:wizard:

Similar products. Hyland's makes the homeopathic teething tables, bumps and bruses and TONS of other fun products! :) I was surprised at the effectiveness of the motion sickness tabs.

And Amazon prime is like 75-100$/year and you get free shipping for your year subscriptions. If you buy a LOT from amazon it is worth it. We get free two day shipping. You also get a HUGE break on overnight shipping as well. The only drawback is that it is only good on items sold truely by Amazon and not by the merchants. But for most things Amazon sells it anyway. :)

We used Dargal to book our reservation, but, we were given cat 9 gty, not a cat 8. We are spoiled by RCCL, their GTYs are always upgraded. We were thinking of doing the transatlantic also, but, we have changed our minds, don't want to be stuck on deck 1 for 25 days :scared1: :scared1: I have also read some reviews and deck 1 seems to be quiet and convenient for our port days. We got a great rate and we are happy. I guess we will be known as the stowaways from deck 1 ;)

We were on Deck 1 on our last Disney Cruise. We thought it was great. There was no noise, and it was an easy off on port days.

Besides, who really spends that much time in their room? Not us. You could put me in a cave and I'd be fine. The only thing I do in my room is sleep. We're out having fun!!!:woohoo:

Well, DCL just made a huuuuge mistake, they have no idea the amount of shopping I could have done in 25 days!!!! Thanks for the encouraging words Scooby3x1y, who did you use to book the cruise?

:)

No seasickness for me I'm sure, as we are in the lowest deck, midship. To be honest, I am trying to convince DH that we will be fine, he is not happy.

We were upgraded to Cat 8, all of us!

Welcome! I don't think I've seen you post before. Ken (kpros) is making beautiful lanyards for everyone on the list. Quite a few others are helping to sponsor the cost. PM Ken with the names of everyone in your group to be included. They are free!

Ken also has all sorts of cruise info on page 55, post 1. I've got a list of FAQs on page 1 post 15.

I am also taking info for the suite party on the first sea day. My next post will have more details.

See you in May!

Sue

Perhaps I should show you the bill for my stateroom at FULL PRICE. That should make DH much, much happier!

You can always try and upgrade at the port. They will usually let you pay a small pittance to upgrade to available rooms although I'm not sure if this is true for interline rates.

Have you tried complaining to DCL yet? See if you can't get a supervisor and explain that you were going to book the repo but with the horrible location, you just can't. See what they say! The worst they can say is you're stuck where you are.

Good luck!

Sue

This looks, how I feel when I'm sea sick.

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/503533/rough_cruise/

I don't know which cruise line that is, but I don't think I'd ever cruise again. Thank goodness DCL will steer around anything like this.

With the way the ship was listing so far to the right side, it looks as if there was something wrong with the stabilizers. I caught some of what was said but my Spanish just isn't that good. Did you look at the interior video? :scared1:

Sue
