What should I make of this?

I was looking at the Disney site and noticed that today cat twelves are now listed. When we booked on the 8th they were not an option so as far as I know this is new. Incidentally they are priced the same as a cat 11.

Final payments came due and they sorted out what was left, upgraded some and now have cat 12's available.

Question about the wine tasting:

Since many of us will be buying our wine for the wine-tasting in Barcelona, should we commit to bringing a certain varietal or just hope that we get a random selection regardless?

Jenn: just curious, what made you say "Starburst"? (fact is, that's what I usually bring, but i didn't think you knew it!)

Can I bring Diet Coke????

DCL has tentative dates but they are subject to change based on the whims of DCL and the phases of the moon. The only thing they are publshing is a formal night, two semi-formal nights and a pirate night. I'll post the dining plan closer to the cruise.

Sue

So now it's definite we're having a pirate night? Fine with me, but i'm NOT bringing any of my pirate gear. Our costumes will consist of those free bandanas...period!
I would assume that even if the formal and semi-formal nights are switched around, thay will always be on the sea days. DCL gives everyone plenty of time to get all dolled up so they can sell lots of photos!

Homemaker (a CPA in a former life) maried for 32 years to another CPA. We live in Houston but I'm from Oklahoma. Our son attends OU(Boomer Sooner) and graduates this summer with a masters in electrical engineering. I am a Disney addict--probably because I was Disney deprived as a child and I'm turning 52 (yikes!!!) on this trip...

We'll get along very well: I'm also an accountant, have lived in Houston, have several kids in college/grad school....and will also be celebrating a birthday on this cruise (6/5)......except I'll be turning 54 (double yikes!)

Does that mean anyone who gets a cat. 12 now won't be upgraded?
I'm having my TA look into....

Not necessarily, but that's the only reason I can see why category 12 cabins were not available a week or so ago but now are available.

We may be getting a Pirate night to coincide with the land release of POTC3 back in the states. Just speculation nothing confirmed

OK, I'll join in here - corporate accountant, no kids, never visited Houston and will be celebrating a birthday on board (6/2) 55, like a fine wine I am getting better as I age :)

It looks like the bean counters are taking over the cruise. :rotfl2: Shari and I are both CPA's.

Ken

jeanneg:

Am looking forward to meeting you--my birthday's June 3.

This birthday cruise sure beats "crying in my beer" about getting another year older!

I want to play in the bean counters sand box....:rotfl: DH and I own a security and life safety business. 3 teenage boys, 1 dd 11. :cool1:

The official release date is May 25. I'm just hoping they will be showing it on-board for our viewing pleasure ;-)

Now, while we're speculating (big LOL), let's speculate if Disney invited Johnny Depp and family to be their special guest for this cruise.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Doesn't he live near Paris? :rotfl2: I pretty sure we will get the new movie, but the Repo will probably see it first.

I'm just thinking that with all these fifty-ish ladies on our sailing, we have the wrong name. It should be something like "(Nearly)Golden Girls take over the Med!"

Susan: Is Mama's Cafe still on Westheimer? Last time I was there was 23 years ago, but they had the best breaded mushrooms!
Also, what about the steak restaurant (also on Westheimer) that had the lady on the swing? Whenever our friends and family from NYC came to visit, we would take them there. It was like something right out of the Wild West!

jeanq: I'm pretty sure I haven't seen Mama's so I'm thinking it no longer exists. The velvet swing restaurant I'm not sure if it still is there. I know what you're talking about though so I can try to find out for you.

However, I'm headed out of town to Dallas for the weekend so I have to wait until Monday to find out...
