May 26, 2007 (5/26/07) "First Magical Med Cruise!!" (The M&M's!)

Hello everyone. Well i must say i am very glad to be back in the States. Thank you all the people who put things in our fish extenders it helped put a smile on our faces. My mom became sick the first day on the cruise by the third day i little worse by the 4th day even worse. The medical center is awesome being a nurse it exceeded my standards. They ended up putting an iv in her and giving iv antibiotics and placed on oxygen which she has never had. So once after rome didn't do anymore excursions. they wanted her to be seen in laspezia but was nervous if was seen there they would not release her back to the ship. so as a group with the dr. decided to continue to treat her on the boat. When they did an xray on the ship they saw pneumonia and a left lung mass that was never there before. So the rest of the trip was spent trying to get an earlier flight home, Never was able to . Setting upoxygen for the flight got it for the long part thank god. After we got off the ship and at thehotel her conditon worsen all we wanted to do was get her home to the states. We finally made it back to the states. Florida. She is in the hospital was severly dehyrdrated and today they are going to do a lung biopsy. We are praying for the best outcome today. I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful Dis Boarders we met and who left lovely presents for us at/on our cabin door. You are all so thoughtful.

Thanks to Tracey and Bill too for hosting and sponsoring the Dreams Unlimited Dis Board party, it was lovely to meet you all.

I don't feel like resuming the shopping, cleaning, cooking and just want to be back on the Magic! - I'm so missing the lovely meals and service.

We're already dreaming of another Disney cruise (possibly even the Transatlantic back to Florida)! Failing that I would have loved the Panama Canal trip but I believe that's sold out already!

The travel trade press over here in the UK featured the Disney Magic at Barcelona with speculation that it may sail from Southampton, England for the summer of 2009! That would be brilliant for us with just a 4 hour drive away and a chance for others to visit London as a gateway rather than Barcelona.

Hi Celeste - hope you enjoyed Paris - what did you think of Disneyland Paris? Thanks so much for the Rosa Regale, we'll be enjoying that this weekend in the garden - the weather here is fabulous, much warmer that the Med (most surprisingly)!

I answered this on the other thread- I will also say that you can find openings to the PC cruises if you look, I got a GTY room for May. I just looked every morning.

Welcome back everyone. I have been reading some blogs and some reviews from you first time cruisers.

Were there cabs/vans/taxis available at all the ports. I am thinking of cancelling our excursion in LaSpezia. I have not been able to get the VIP Pisa or the morning Pisa tour w/dcl. I have emailed two tour guides.

I might have to take my chances on the ship (for cancellations) or do you think we can grab a taxi/van (we are five)?

That he had his Jamacian Friend in the Kitchen prepare for me.

He was the best sever, We have had in several cruises.
Of Course Anne Marie in Palo will always be another Server that we

I think I saw Jenn before I left to get "stoned" I heard about the soup story from Jennie and Char. Glad you liked the blog- Man, was France ever out to get me....major poopy heads! I finally had to buy a headphone set to do the last one and install a program on Andy's laptop. (which I uninstalled as well and never told him) I have to finish the blog now that I can post the rest of the photos from my cell phone without having to pay. I also have to finish my post about kissing a strange man after asking him for sexual favors....... It's not as exciting as it sounds, don't worry.


I am going to bed in 32 minutes.

thank you everyone for your words of support hopefully today will bring good news. We have decorated her room with pictures from the cruise . Everyone laughs when they saw her picture with jack sparrow. The last picture that was taken before she got really sick. I promised her a 3 or 4 day cruise once she gets better to makeup for the last one, also a balcony room since she was stuck in an inside room for 7 days. cindy

Thank you all so much for the cute gifts we received in our fish extender. My magnets are all up on my fridge a nice reminder of a great time. The goodies went straight to my hips also a reminder of a good time

Bob and I didn't officially meet any of you Dis folks because we never made it to the toga party (I did recognize some of you from the pictures of you on this site though). Unfortunately, the one suitcase that had the toga and pirate costumes didn't show up until around 6PM. The other suitcases showed up early-Murphy's Law-so I waited and waited and waited and waited for the other.

The problem with all this planning is sometimes I tend to get stuck on my plan and have a hard time discarding it even when it isn't working--i.e. I bought the toga for the party and by golly I was going to wear it. I should have come without the *!*!!* costume.

Anyway thanks to the kind soul who brought by the lanyards and put it in our fish extender--I used that handy thing every day after I received it.

Welcome back everyone! Our family just got back yesterday after going to Paris and London for another 5 nights. It was a great vacation but we are exhausted!
I want to say thank you to everyone for all the gifts on the doors and in the fish extender. My kids had a blast finding the items! My DD's 16 loved running around each floor putting magnets on the doors. They can't wait to do it again on the next cruise!
For the group that did the lanyards....they were fantastic!
Our family as well had great plans to be with the dis board people alot. But with a family of five, the group was always going separate ways. We came to the Disney Suite and got the lanyards but the kids all wanted to get going because there was so much to do right at that time. So DH and I thought we still had time to meet everyone because we had 10 more nights. Well the time flew and we really did not get to meet many of you at all. I had completely forgot about the pj party and went to dinner, checked out pictures and ran around with my DD 11. It was not until I went to bed that I even remembered the pj party. There was just so much going on all the time.
Even though our family did not get to meet everyone face-to-face, I loved sharing this trip with all of you!!!! You will always be in my memories of having shared with us the greatest family trip of a lifetime! Thank You!

It was so nice to meet everyone. Thank you to all who left little goodies in our fish extender. It was like Christmas. It is sad to say that when we were getting close to our room I would get excited to see if there was anything new in my fish mail.

Thank you to everyone to contributed to the lanyards, I had no idea how nice it would be to have somewhere to stash your KTTW card when you were out and about and did not want to carry a wallet.

Thank you Ron and Monica for opening your home away from home to us. That was an awesome experience to see.

I am back at work after 4 days of bed rest. I got really sick the last day. I went to the Dr. upon my return and was put on antibiotics for an ear, eye and throat infection. I was just finally feeling a bit normal and rash appeared - I now have shingles. I am trying to not let this put a damper on the great 11 days I had prior to getting sick. I keep thinking of all the fun things that happened prior.

Next on my list is to unpack and do , download and upload my pictures to my website (will share when I get it done) and finish my journal from the trip. I had good intentions to write everyday, but that quickly ended after about 4 days. So much to write and remember before it gets lost in my memory.

I hope to run into some of you on future cruises or trips to Disneyland or Disney World.
