Im very worried about flying now. We've paid off this cruise in June, and now considering doing another back to back next September.

We still have time (to change or keep) but I have a big family (3 kids &14 grandkids)to keep happy too.

What are your thoughts?

Mostly I don't want those CREEPS TO WIN by keeping me home and afraid to travel. But I don't want to do something to deliberately put myself in danger either.

I totally understand your concerns but we have plenty of time to decide. I don't think Disney is going to jeopardize their reputation or their ship. If the international climate gets that uneasy they will change their plans.

Right now, we just have to make educated and cautious decisions and when the time comes, we make the decision that is right for us and our families.

When it comes right down to it - a Disney cruise IS about family and for me the itinerary is secondary. No itinerary is worth it if I am going to be a nervous wreck the entire time.

Hope it helps to know you are not alone in your thoughts.

An extra prayer for peace and world stability wouldn't be out of order either.

I agree with you on not letting the bad guy win. We've enjoyed the past 7 cruises we've done with Disney.Note: No kids or grandkids with us. Just the 2 biggest kids

I don't think worried but definately thinking about more today than earlier in the week. I am considering airlines other than United.

I'm glad I haven't purchased any tickets yet, but then once I start putting down non-refundable $$ I buy trip insurance. I will be looking for the "I just changed my mind" insurance this time so if peace of mind gets the better of me at the last minute I have limited my losses.

I've been concerned for a while, but last Sunday I took everyone's advice and bought my tickets...timing has never been my strong suit Got a pretty good rate on Delta (but of course they have internal problems) non stop from JFK and BCN. I booked on cheapoairfare.com for $690.00 each but by the time everything was totaled it was $3200 for four; still not too bad. I was also able to cancel my insurance with DCL which surprised me because I had thought it was non refundable in the past. We are going the day before and booked the Grand Marina on our own , but we'll still be able to use the Disney transfers. I bought tons of insurance on my own, I need to check for a "changed my mind clause"!!

I'm going to try to focus on the possibility of seeing Pirates 3 and not worry about our vacation. There are much more important things to worry about with the current situation.

We've planned three trips to Italy and each time a war/incident has broken out, so we've cancelled. I think you're right if it were a serious problem next year they would change it Hawaii. I would be happy to go anywhere because it is all about the family experience, not the destination. I'd be thrilled if it came out west and went to Hawaii.

I think the whole situation worries me because our kids, my parents and sisters are traveling with us. We're leaving for WDW in 9 days and I'm stewing over this trip. I proposed driving and dh said they win if we stop traveling. I know he's right, but........

I just got the trip cleared by dd's principal and was about to make ressies. I have some time to think about it.

I cancelled my ressies for the back to back! The Med is still ON

Ok... so we might be put out abit for the flight going to Barcelona and back home.
Talking to DCL, they have had hundreds of calls with concerns(and me adding to that) They have contingency plans all worked out.

So... as for this travel freek and her DH...we're going to the Med!
Best go for now the theater has 2 tickets with my name on them ....seeing POC2 again

Did they say what those plans were or just that they have them in place? Just curious.

She said they have them in place, just in case they(DCL) feel uneasy. She never said what they were, just that they have them.

It makes me feel better knowing that there are plans and just not "let's bug outta here folks" !

She also said that they are over in the Med now working on the excursions, and should be back home soon and to be posted on DCL site.
