Back to shoes: I'm wearing sneakers and taking dress shoes and deck shoes.
Did Pompeii & Vesuvius many years ago in street shoes. Other than some inclines and a few steps, neither place requires boots. Leaving them home will free up weight and space for souvenirs!

Five days and a wake up until our first leg to Barcelona!

This will be the first time hubby is wearing a tux and it's only because we decided to rent one. We figure it's worth the $85 to not have to pack any formal clothing for him. So it looks like he'll be able to get away with taking just one sports jacket for Palo and wear regular golf type shirts for dinner every other night. But if it wasn't a packing issue, he wouldn't be wearing a tuxedo either.

Hey everyone from Texas!
I have been keeping up with reading the boards but not writing that much! I will be so glad when we start packing this weekend. I am actually tired of shopping and thinking about the packing process.
I read the notes about the passports. I would get to one of those regional offices even if it is far away. We were lucky our office was right here in Houston. We got the kids passports after 14 weeks and my youngest one had the numbers cut off at the bottom. When I called they said I would have to mail them back in and wait again. No way it took long enought the time before! Instead my husband went to the Houston office where her passport was process and waited all day on a Monday to get it fixed. Their computers broke down and then it took until Thursday to get it. I was in panic! But I will say the only way to get it done is to be at their office first thing and you will get it. They are the only ones that can do anything.

I am trying to think of goodies for everyone. Is making a magnetic door sign ok????? Does anyone have a count of how many rooms there are? Do I just check the website listing and put them on doors myself or do I need to give them at the toga party? I am new to this...not new to Disney cruise just the gift things. Thanks for the input!

Last time I counted there was about 67 DIS names and 85 cabins. I know we have added at least one more since the May 2 update. You can do either!! We had some stuff show up on our doors in the past, and some that was given away at sailway parties or other group events. Completely up to you!!

OK... I hesitate to post this, because I am SURE it will cause a great deal of argument, but, I received today, from an Exec at DCL the listing of the Dinner themes and attire for our cruise... I know this seems a bit odd, but, this is not my idea, this is DIRECTLY from an email I received....

Ron,

This isn't right. The first night isn't formal. It is "let the magic begin" and is Casual. The 2nd night is Formal and is Golden Mickeys. The 3, 4 and 5th nights are regular rotation menus all casual. There is one more semi-formal night and it's the Prince and Princesses menu night.

One week from today - at exactly this time - I'll be sitting at MIA waiting to board the plane to Barcelona!

I just verified this with DCL too. Sue is correct. I can't believe DCL would have formal night on the first night. Since when does a DCL exec know what's going on in the dining room :lmao: :lmao: :goodvibes

After much debate and PMs, a final decision has been made on the suite tour and toga/wine tasting party. Our hosts, Ron and Monica, would like very much to have the party within their suite.

We've decided to split out the suite tour from the party. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier for those that want to see the suite but aren't interested in sitting around drinking a bunch of wine. It'll also make it a bit more roomy for those that are wine tasting.

The suite tour will be held at 1pm on May 27th, the first sea day. The wine tasting will begin at 2pm with "toga assistance" provided by Ron at 1:45.

Christina, Nana and I will be at the suite tour. After the tour, I'll put Christina in the club for the wine tasting. Gives me a bit of adult time!

Here's the list of everyone that signed up. Can't wait to see you there!

We made the t-shirt ourselves and got it printed at cafepress.

Tell your friend to seach "big brother" at cafepress...there are TONS of shirts. But as I said we made our own...since our boy LOVES hippos and animals in general!

We were hoping for baby to be a true disney baby like our DS is now. He is a product of a LOT of wine at the upstairs french rest. at Epcot! :)

Now I just have to start looking for neat names while overseas! :)

Breighton is named after a hotel in Paris that we were staying in when hubby proposed!

Hi

Congrats on the fab news !!! You will have a wail of a time even without the wine, just think of all the non achohoic cocktails you can get the bars to make.

Oh and hey I stayed at the same hotel in Paris in February - nice place to propose overlooking the gardens - I am impressed with how romantic your DH is!!

Rachel

Laurie, Congrats on the good news!:cutie: I thought your son was named after my favorite brand of silver jewelry. I like your story better.

Tracy, Glad to hear the surgery went well.:goodvibes

Celeste, Are you able to walk? This injury sounds painful.

Ron, We rented formal shoes for Bob, Brett and Dad. Only $12 each and we don't have to lug them around.

For those of you from the warm states, those high 70 degree temps made me wonder if I had enough short sleeve and sleeveless stuff in my piles of stuff to be packed. DD was worried that she might not get to swim in the Med. on one of our excursions.

So this may seem like a dumb question (although as a teacher I know there is no such thing) but is there a room number for the Roy Suite or do you have to know where it is? I think I am going to spend hours just trying to find my way to places. :)

I agree it seems a bit wonky, :confused3 but, this is what I was told was the final set-up... I hope that my friend at DCL is wrong, b/c nobody wants formal night the night they get on board... :scared1:

LOL... yes, there is the Room # of the Roy Suite is 8530... :woohoo:

So it is One Formal Night and One Semi-Formal

or

Is Prince/Princess Night also dressy?

TIA

Ron,

Why don't you just call concierge? They can verify for you. The first formal night is the first at sea night - May 27th. The first night is always casual since a good share of cruisers do not get their luggage before first seating. The staff is also busy with the sailaway party on that first night.

Sue

Prince and Princesses night is also semi-formal.

There is one formal night on 5/27th.
There are two semi-formal nights. One on June 1st and one on June 4th.

Sue

He actually proposed at the top of the Eiffel tower! :) He is sometimes a sap...normally not! :) hehe He has his moments!

Hotel Breighton was BEAUTIFUL! We had the huge suite on the top floor. WOW! But they were renovating it when we visited. So we had to use the stairs and the TINY service elevator...that was SCARY!

As for alcoholic drinks we know there are a LOT of good "virgin" drinks on the boat... i will be fine! :) Just makes no fun for the wine tours... i will survive!
