May 25th, 2013 Fantasy Western!

Hi!! :wave2: I'm new to this forum and new to cruising. Lookiing forward to joining you all. This will be our first cruise. Joining me with be my DH and 3 DDs. We are giving this to our DD's as their Christmas present so they have no idea. I'm getting more excited as the time to tell them gets nearer. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Dave (43) Meg (30)
Caiti (13 F) (at time of cruise)
Madeleine (11 F)
Cassondra (10 F)
Stateroom: 6548/6550 (We will only be doing one FE)
Celebrations: None
Allergies: None
First Cruise on Disney: Yes
Participate in FE: Still thinking on it, but leaning towards yes.

Alright Meg, got you on the spreadsheet, but not for FE. Be sure to let me know if you want to join in. I mean, c'mon, you know you want to! Jump right in! :thumbsup2

Well to be honest that has been my hesitation. I have never done this before but that many staterooms and people made it a little overwhelming.

Come on Andrea, join us! It's loads of fun to come back to your cabin and find some little gifts. Remember, this is for fun, not to break your wallet.

OK...you twisted my arm!! Add me to the FE list.

I've been reading through the posts on here and I agree with others when saying to split it up into groups. I know with us traveling with 5 ppl luggage weight is an issue. I don't mind how it is split up. It might be fun to travel to different parts of the ship.

Voting for splitting based on age group(s) - kids vs adults only, maybe?

Just a thought but open to any other ways :)

Since this is our first cruise, I'm going to probably be asking lots of questions. Is there a Pirate night on the ship? If so, do people dress up for it?

Yes and yes . . . although dressing up runs the gamut from just the bandana that Disney provides to full on Jack Sparrow costumes/makeup. We're sort of suiting up one piece at a time. We have shirts and bandanas, Pam has a scarf as a belt. This year I think we'll work up some pants so that we're not wearing cargo shorts/capris. But like I said you'll see more than half of the guests with nothing more than the supplied bandana and maybe a t-shirt from PotC attraction.

OK...you twisted my arm!! Add me to the FE list.

Ok, doing that now!

I'm excited about it still don't have a fish extender though. Down the middle sounds good to me too. I don't mind hoofing all around the ship. Need to work off all the food I'm planning to eat anyway. Lol. Yes we are planning to do one gift per stateroom too!

OK, I read that and it looked like I was telling everyone to do just one gift for each cabin. :sad2: I just meant that is what WE are doing. Everyone of course can do whichever they want.::yes::

We MAY be doing this too. We'll be flying, although dont have our tickets yet, so I don't know if we'll have baggage fees or not. This will restrict what we can bring with us (if we have fees). Plus we are staying10 days at WDW post cruise (staying at the Beach Club Villas and Animal Kingdom.)

Welcome! You'll love cruising DCL! My dtr Sierra will be 12 at time of the cruise. It's nice to know she'll have lots of new friends to make.

I'm getting really excited. I think because it's getting closer and it's almost time to tell our DDs. I'm so glad I found this group. It will be nice to get to know some ppl beforehand as we've never done a cruise. Also, I'm excited for my girls to meet other kids.

Got back from WDW last week, Fantasyland expansion is wonderful!!

Splitting the Fish Extender group into two is fine with me. Half way down seems the easiest for John. I know as it gets closer, my daughter will want to "get to know" some of the other girls we'll be cruising with.

I really liked John's idea of bracelets so we can pick out our fellow DISers in the crowd. It seems it will help with the kids in the club too!

As for our cruise name: I suggested Fantasia Amigos, FANTASiesta a while back. If anyone can think of a better one I'm all for it!

154 days!!!! :beach:

Just checking in with you guys...now that Christmas is over I'll be in cruise mode! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Thanks John for the spreadsheet and we're fine with however the FE splits. We will probably do cabin gifts with a theme unique to where we're from! (((excited)))

p.s. I like the bracelet idea too but have no name ideas...

Just bought air tix today! Now it seems like we're really getting close.:cool1: I should try to work on FE gifts. Probably doing 1 per stateroom, but still not sure. Oh, John.... I have our stateroom number 8666.

Can't wait till May 25 and to cruise away from reality.......:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

We're getting excited here, too! My daughter woke me up at 5:30 this morning with some questions about the cruise. :)

Since this is our first cruise, I'm happy to abide by whatever decisions the group makes about the FE and anything else.

Welcome Libby! Got you down on the spreadsheet. Because of the way you gave me your info, I've put you down as one participant of 4 adults and 3 kids. If both staterooms want to participate separately, let me know who's in each stateroom and I'll split you out.

Thanks, if you could split us that would be great, John, Gina and Taryn are doing FE in one cabin, and we are doing another FE in our cabin for Brad, Libby, Emma and Hazel. Thanks, also we are fine with splitting the FE cabins up

Libby:

Got you split up. Have your family in 8110 and Gina/John in 8112. Let me know if I need to reverse them.

Now . . . did anyone see my final payment? I think I left it around here somewhere? :sail:

You're not kidding, John! The deadline is fast approaching, think we can brew a little pixie dust!?! :stir:

How did the bracelets work on your previous cruise, John?

I'm so in cruise mode now! I just can't wait to sail. I'm sure conversations will be picking up now that we are about 19 weeks away!

Last time we had a mysterious benefactor that sprung for all the bracelets. I never did find out who fronted the money for them. Considering the number of bracelets @ $1 - $2 each, that was quite a donation!

So what we need is a decision on the cruise name - I vote for "Fantasia Amigos!". Then we need to get a count, and someone to order and pay for them and then we can reimburse them onboard. OR we can prepay the person upfront via Paypal if that works for them. We had the cruise name on one side and the trip date on the other. Nice neon green so we could identify each other from quite a ways away.

I think the bracelet idea sounds great. Where did they get them? Oriental Trading or Vistaprint maybe? Let's go with our name of "Fantasia Amigos" if that is OK with everyone. I think that was suggested and agreed was gone by a few people and I haven't gotten any other ideas coming. :thumbsup2 We are also super excited here especially since we will have 6 days at WDW before the cruise and my parents are coming on the cruise with us which is their very first. We are also doing the Illuminations cruise and as far as I know we still have room for 4 more adults if anyone is interesed in doing that on Mon May 20th. That is something I have heard so many great things about and can't wait to do it.
