May 25th, 2013 Fantasy Western!

What is the age for sign in and out privileges In kids club? My kids are 10 and 9 at time of sailing (soon to be 11 and 9). Is this too young to let them do this? What are others doing in regards to letting kids roam along? This is our second Disney cruise (1st was the dream). We did not let them out of our site 2 years ago but they want more freedom this time. Thoughts?

Our daughter is 10 and not getting sign out privileges, but she is also a young and less mature 10. Even if we did give her the sign out privileges, she would never leave. We have to drag her away from the club. She loves it.

My son was right at 10 when I let him roam a little. He is mature for his age and had very specific guidelines to follow. He knows he cannot go near the pools or hot tub, can't go to the stateroom hallways except our own, no one else's room, he must tell me here he's going and if I check he better be there! Normally he only ventures to the arcade or to grab a snack without me.

Yay got my long awaited fish extenders in the mail today (seller had to have embroidery machine fixed), got the missing certified birth certificate for step son. 7 days of school left for DS and we'll be in Florida 2 weeks from tomorrow!

Glad to hear you got the docs in hand. Hate to hear about folks turned away because they don't have the right documentation. Not Disney's call, so not much they can do about it.

I just want to say that I am so very excited to be going on this vacation as i am sure the rest of you are!! We leave in 14 days and I am so ready to go!!

The last couple of weeks have been very hard for our entire community. We lost a dear friend and police officer this week which was devestating to everyone who knew him. He was only 29 years old, leaving behind a wife and 2 year old daughter. Just a very sad situation for sure!

My husband is battling Gout at the moment and I just pray I'm not pushing him around for this trip and he can walk!

I only have a couple of weeks to get everything rounded up! Shopping this weekend for last minute stuff. FE gifts are already packed and ready to go!

Looking forward to the meet & greet and the mixology. I am going to stay on that list and if I can't make it well I suppose that's just $15.00 lost for me. I would rather stay on the list and have to miss than to be taken off the list and find out I could go this miss out on it. I have never done a mixology before so I am excited about it.

Anyway enough rambling for today....

Thanks John! I was not so happy the other day when they discovered his BC wasnt the one with the seal, especially since they've known since August! Cost me $55 and lots of worry, but ordered it Friday and they got it Monday. My son and I have passports but I still travel with all of the certificates on the off chance that they question why we are traveling without his father. I'd much rather be safe than sorry!

sorry about all the troubles but happy you will try and make the mixology class. I think you will have time to do that plus make your BBB appt. If it comes close then you can always leave a little early. They won't tie you down or anything.:rotfl2:

I just want to say how happy I will be to leave for vacation next weekend. My DH ends up getting sick every year and of course this year was no exception and he is having stomach issues and is on antibiotics. We also ended up getting over a foot of snow last night so it took me over an hour to get to work today. It should be all melted by tomorrow but hello Mother Nature..this is May!:furious:
I can't wait to be sitting in my lounge chair on Castaway Cay with my Konk Kooler in my hand. :cloud9:

In all of the umpteen times I've been to CC I have yet to try a Konk Kooler, but I plan on remedying that in a little over 2 weeks!

These sound like some good ground rules. Still thinking about it though. Glad you got your documents. See everyone soon! But not soon enough.

The first time was really hard, but he has proven to know the rules. He normally really doesn't venture off too much. Like I said its mostly to grab a snack or the arcade and sometimes I just take my book and sit near the arcade. Even when he left the club he either had to check in or I'd be there when I knew he was done. He actually likes to still hang out with me so I enjoy that because I know it won't last long.

Last cruise (on the Dream) my 10 yo DD had sign out privileges. She had to let me know when she was leaving & where she was going. We were traveling with another family that had a 10 yo DS. We insisted that they stay together. Buddy system. I'm sure your kids will make fast friends with someone and you could use these guidelines. They worked well for us. Mostly they were in the club, getting icecream or at the pool with us. :thumbsup2

OK, I know there's only 2 weeks to go :cool1: so you can tell me to shut up if you want to, but would it be worthwhile to have a "Kid's Corner" at the Meet & Greet for the kids to get to meet up front? I know there's been a lot of talk here and there on the board about getting specific kids introduced, but should we make it more formal? I'm not sure if we would want to go as far as activities like the bingo cards where you have to find other kids that meet a square's info (plays soccer, has a dog, has been to DL, first cruise, etc).

And then there's the part where I just throw this out there and see if anyone catches it . . . :lmao:

Love the kids meeting, but not sure how long mine will stand still lol. He has hot tubbing to do "I'm going to spend the whole cruise relaxing in the hot tub"

Ah, a kid after my own heart. Except for me add, "with a boat drink in my hand" to the end of that sentence!

Ok, you got me at the mixology tasting.

We are booked on the May 25th cruise. :cool1:

If it's not too late, we'd love to sign up for the mixology tasting on Thursday.

We really are overwhelmed by the FE's and obviously very late, but we would love to make the meet and greet on the first day. Am I too late for that?

We're in 8650 and 8652.
John, Laura, Zoe (19) and Bud (16)

This is my first post ever so I hope I got this right...:goodvibes
