May 25th, 2008 West Coast - Mexico

ok ok.... The joke is on me:rotfl2:

After being on hold for 45 min. with Cost-co, they explained it was a typo pirate:

Good thing! I don't think I could get up at 2 am:crazy2:

Thank you for the welcome:love:

That is too funny! I was starting to get a little nervous:rotfl: I guess I could have stayed at my cousin's house in Long Beach!princess:

So, who is traveling with ya? It will be my son, 6 (at time of sailing), myself (ageless:laughing: ) my nephew, 5 and my little sister 35 (shhhhh, don't tell her I posted her age!!;). This will be first cruise for Sister & nephew and fifth for me.

Hi there! Traveling with DH, DD 7, DD 5 (at time of sailing)! Oh your sister is going to get you:mad: Ha!! But, I'm sure she'll get over it:goodvibes

We did the cruise in 05' and had a great time. This, however, will be SO much easier. No airport:cool1: We may add Disneyland before or after.

I know some people who are doing the 15 day trip:rolleyes: I thought about it for about one minute and decided NO:eek: I'm sure they will all have a wonderful time:grouphug:

We are busy getting ready for Alaska now. We leave in May:woohoo: I'm so ready for this trip:cheer2:

Thanks for the nice welcome.

Oh, yes, it is gonna be so nice to not have to do the long flight to Florida:goodvibes I don't think I could handle the 15 day trip as the 7 day seems so perfect...not too long or too short:angel:

Alaska sounds wonderful! are you cruising there? I would love to cruise to Alaska one day. We will be flying to Hawaii next month and doing a cruise of the islands. I have never been to Hawaii and looking forward to it but I am REALLY excited about sailing the Magic next year:wizard: popcorn::

I have never been sea sick on any of my cruises (knock on wood for the one's coming up;). I have heard good times about Dramamine (sp?). Are ya getting ready for that Hawaiian cruise:goodvibes I have heard the seas get a bit rough making the crossing:eek: but should be smooth ride the closer to Hawaii.
I haven't tried the non-drowsy version - but I read the ingredients and it's the same as the bonine - so it should affect me the same... SNORE!!!!! :rotfl2: Yes, we're getting ready, and I'm starting my panic mode of "did I forget anything"... It's funny because, like I said, I think I worry about the seasickness more than I actually experience it - but I do like to be prepared, and I stress if I think I'm not prepared for something.

Welcome 4Campers - so glad you're joining us! You made me laugh with the 5:00am mix up. Can't you just see all the Dis members arriving bright and early in their Dis Green pajamas and Goofy slippers? :lmao: I would LOVE to do Alaska! Don't know if I can wait until 2011 and 2012 for the new DCL ships to hopefully do it, but we'll see! But, wouldn't that be AWESOME! Disney to Alaska!

Yes, we will be cruising in Alaska:woohoo: (RCCL) I've never been and we are looking forward to seeing the beauty:goodvibes Still trying to work out the tours:rolleyes: Lots of age restrictions:confused3

We have been to Hawaii before and will be going again in June for DH work. So, we tag along:thumbsup2 I would love to cruise it. It really makes more since:goodvibes I've only been to Oahu. What islands will you see?

Well, its rain again today:umbrella: When will summer get here:flower:

Hi 4campers and :welcome: aboard!
We're from CA too (Santa Maria) and I also have a DD5 (at time of sailing) and a DD10. Wow, Alaska-that should be incredible. Sunday on the Travel Channel they were showing lots of cruise shows and one of them was about the Radiance's Alaskan cruise. DH said he wanted to cruise there when the DD's were a little older and like MousseauMob, I'm hoping ::MickeyMo will go there.
I'll try to check-in once more before I leave. I'm sure I'll havelots to talk about when I get back!

Have a great trip and check in with us when you return:grouphug:

Thank you for the warm welcome:goodvibes

Can I please join you guys too???

Just yesterday we booked the cruise. Woo Hoo! There are 12 of us total:
-Me, DH & our 2 DD's (will be 3 & 5 at cruise time)
-My parents with my cousin (will be 17 at cruise time)
-Our neighbors & their son (will be 5 at cruise time)
-Our neighbor's parents
I'm so glad to see there will be a lot of 5 year olds. I'm so excited for my girls to make friends!

DH & I went on the Disney Magic back in 2002 to celebrate our 2nd Wedding Anniversary (pre-kids). We're really excited to be taking our children this time. We're huge Disney fans, and you can't beat not having to fly to Florida for a Disney Cruise. I'll miss Castaway Cay, but oh well.

I'm really looking forward to the trip. A big part of the fun for me is planning. I loved planning our last DC and I know I'll have even more fun planning this one. I haven't been on these boards since 2002, but I'm so glad to be back. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

MousseauMob - LOVED your pictures! I'm a scrapbooker too, but I haven't tried digital yet. I'll have to give it a try after seeing your pictures.

Hi and welcome to Sasha (and family and friends)!

We got off the ship 2 days ago and I miss the Magic! :sad1: We had the best time. The weather was fabulous, the seas were mostly calm, no motion sickness or any other kind of illnesses on board. We had brunch and dinner at Palo-Wow! And the shows- I knew they would be great but I was really blown away. Every show was better than the previous one. It really could not have been better. We are so excited to go back next year with you all. party:
I'll try to upload some pics in the next couple of days-haven't ever done it so I'll have to figure it out.

About your motion sickness question MousseauMob: I was concerned about this because I am prone to queasiness but I took Bonine twice a day and felt fine and did not have any side effects. I actually enjoyed the rocking of the boat. My DD9 took Bonine for kids and felt great too. It was such a relief because we have 2 more cruises booked and I did not want to worry about being  on every trip.

Thanks for the welcome Rebecca!

Sounds like you had a great time on the Magic! It makes me even more excited about our trip next year. Would love to see pics if you figure out how to download them...

MousseauMob - I posted a thread on the other board regarding seasickness and EVERYONE recommended ginger pills. I'm sold after all the responses I got. That's what I'm planning on taking a month before we even set sail.

Thanks Sasha I just picked a couple of days ago some ginger pills as well as some crystallized ginger, I'm going to give them a shot, because the bonine really does make me sleepy.

Rebecca - I'd LOVE to see your photos also!

Ok, I've been playing around with photobucket so here is my first attempt at posting a pic:

Wow! I think it worked. I'll try some more...

For Elise it was all about the characters..

Our servers were Teodor from Bulgaria and Dorathea from South Africa. They were wonderful!

On St. Thomas, we went to Trunk Bay, St. John on our own. The beach was beautiful and the water was warm and clear-great snorkeling.
DSCF0139.jpg

For St. Maarten, we went to Little Bay on our own. This castle won the sand castle building contest and we all won cups from the Divi Little Bay resort.

We were very sad to leave but we'll be back in just 14 months!
