May 25th, 2008 West Coast - Mexico

Okay, here's my lame attempt at a logo/nickname for our cruise. Tell me what you think and be brutal! ;)

Ellen, that is great! I love it:thumbsup2 Be "brutal"? are ya crazy??? I could never make something like that. You are very creative!! How can I get that into my sig? Hmmmm....can you whip me up some door signs for the cruise?? :woohoo: heheheh.

Door signs... hmmm, I need to do those also! I might be able to whip something up after we get back from Hawaii!

I feel like this needs something more - but I just can't think right now what... I threw it together really fast, I'm not really sure I like it.

Copy and then Paste the image tag above into your sig - edit it to remove the word "remove" and it should work.

Hi everyone!!!

I'll be joining all of you on the May 25th sailing. Coming along with me are my mom, son (11 at the time of sailing), and niece (also 11). Don't know how I missed it last time since I only live 20 minutes from the Port of LA. So glad that I don't have to fly and deal with hotels and ground transportation.

Hope to meet everyone. :)

Hi disneyfan21 and :welcome:
We are 3 hours north of the port and we missed the boat last time too! We didn't really want to cruise until our youngest was older (and potty-trained). Cruising never even crossed our minds until this past year. I hope I like it as I now have 3 booked but still haven't been on one!
We have lots of friends in the LA area, mostly in Redondo Beach and further north in Thousand Oaks and Valencia areas so we spend many weekends down there.
Our little group is growing!:)

We fly out of San Diego March 29 and staying three days precruise, sail Pride of Hawaii for seven days with a port each day (no sea days so pretty port intensive) then four days at JW marriott Ko Olina:beach: Can't wait!!

I still am more excited about my DCL cruise!!! I wish I would have rebooked on our Dec 07 for the onboard discount  but I didn't know that the Magic would be coming back to West Coast:faint: Ahhhh, Well

We were in Hawaii in 2005 and stayed in Waikiki but we drove to Ko Olina for a catamaran snorkeling excursion and it was beautiful there. A lot more peaceful than the craziness of Waikiki. I love Hawaii. My mom was born there so we have lots of family on Oahu but I've spent time on Kauai and Maui also. I've never been to the Caribbean so I'm curious to see how it compares.

We were also hoping to re-book on board this March. We thought we'd book another Florida cruise but are so happy the Magic is coming to us! With all the hype about the bookings on 1/31 we did not want to risk waiting until March to book. I wonder how much the rates will have risen by then?

MoussesuMob- I think the logo/nickname is too cute! Like princessdaisy I could not do that either. I still cut and paste my scrapbooks, remember?
My DD9 loved that movie when she was 4/5. We watched the video over and over.

Hey disneyfan21, my son did a little dance when he saw an 11 year old boy was on the cruise. Now don't get me wrong - he's very easy going - he will play with any age or gender, but he still was happy for another boy near his age. He's probably feeling it a bit, since we haven't found a boy or girl his age on our upcoming Hawaiian cruise. :sad2:

MrSanderz, we originally had Kauai on our itinerary, but then they removed it and are doing an overnight in Maui instead. We were bit disppointed because we really wanted to see Kauai - but we are happy for the extra time in Maui. Originally they only had us in Maui (Lahaina) for 8 hours.

Welcome Disneyfan21! I see your from LA area? I grew up in Pasadena and now living in San Diego.:thumbsup2

Great to see our little group is growing!

MrSanderz: I know those rates where pretty crazy on the 31st! I was lucky to get first seating as a friend also tried to book the May cruise and first seating was unavailable...she decided not to go since she didn't want the late seating:rolleyes: Your gonna love the carribean cruise...we have done Western and Eastern and they are so much fun!

You'll love cruising!!! This is my third one, all with Disney, and it gets better every time. Really wanted to do the WB Repo but mom got so excited when she found out the Disney Magic was coming to California so I felt bad leaving her behind since she wasn't interested in doing the Repo with me. Also those prices for the Repo were too high, 8,000 for just my son and I. Too much. Considering doing the Panama Canal crossing with another cruise line.

What kind of stateroom did everyone get?

We will be in a Cat. 10 this time. I have sailed in a Cat 9 (porthole rooms) and our last was in a Cat 6 (verandah) but Disney bumped us up to a Cat 4 :cloud9: :woohoo: Wow, that was an awesome room!!! gonna be hard to down to the Cat 10 but that was all I could afford:scared1: The price of this Mexican Rivera is 1500.00 more than the Cat 6 Western we did in Dec. and about two times more than our Hawaiian cruise:faint: :scared: Good thing sis is splitting the bill with me.:woohoo:

I'll be in a Cat.5 (verandah). After doing two cruises with a verandah, I don't think I could give it up. This cruise is a little bit pricey:eek: . I thought I would save considering I don't have to fly or book a hotel but I was wrong. I'm paying 1100.00 more than what I paid for the double dip cruise in December. I should've booked a dummy date onboard to save 10% - Now I kick myself for not doing that. Mom and sis. are helping me out to pay for my niece.

Well, I guess that means I have to work during my vacation to make some extra money.:sad2:

I searched but couldn't find a meet thread so I thought I would start one! We're so excited to be going on this cruise - did a 2005 Mexico Riviera and loved it. It's Me, my Sister, Adult Daughter, DS (12 at time of cruise), DD (5 at time of cruise) and GD (5 at time of cruise).

Hi

Do you have a old daily program to see when you went to Mexico 2005..it would help us!!

I don't have any daily programs, but we went June 4th - June 11th in 2005. They did the ports in reverse order of what they are doing for 2008. We started with 2 days at sea then Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, then one more sea day. Does that help?

When you went on that cruise how many kids were on it? Compared to later in the summer?

Oh, I'm sorry, I really don't know how many. :confused3 I know this cruise and the one before was less kids because of the school issues, but I don't have any numbers.
