May 25th, 2008 West Coast - Mexico

Thank you! now my sig. looks great!!!:yay:
Cool! :cool1: - I still think it needs something, I just can't quite figure out what. Of course I really haven't had any time to ponder it. So suggestions or ideas are ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Maybe it's just suffering from logo envy... :lmao: I mean the Repo ones are SO cool! pirate:

What kind of stateroom did everyone get?
Boy, is that a loaded question! :rotfl: I was on the IC therapy couch stessing and pulling my hair out. It's kind of funny now because things finally worked out, but if you look at those threads - you'll understand the therapy couch joke. At one point Justmestace teased me that I was wearing a hole in it! :lmao: Finally, once all the dust had settled - and BOY is the whole saga a story - we did get the suite we wanted, at which point there was lots of dancing around the house. :dance3:

Oh, wow, I had no idea...I don't remember reading a thread on that:scared1: I am glad everything worked out and you have your suite. What suite did you get if you don't mind me asking. We got upgraded to a Cat 4 last cruise and boy, that was nice to have the space...for this cruise we will be in the broom closet:rotfl2:

I don't mind if no one else does! :rotfl: In 2005 we had a Cat 3 which was wonderful, but it was only the 4 of us - this time around it is 6 of us. In 2005 I faxed IC just in case DCL came back to the West Coast! Anyway, after a lot of stressing about having to book connecting rooms and how that would work out with 3 individual adults (no DH DW combo in the bunch ), we landed a Cat 1. so we will all be comfortably together now! :woohoo:
So now that the cat :ccat: is out of the bag! The answer is yes, we will have to have a cabin crawl or Dis Party! party:

Ellen, your gonna kill me! I was eating some grapes while checking my e-mail and choked when I read about your Cat 1:dance3: Ohhhlalalalmamama! that is soooo awesome! Is that the Walt or the Roy?? our Cat 4 was down the hall from the Walt (or was it the Roy?) and I always had to pass "that door" on the way to my room. I always hoped I could catch a glimpse or even a peek when stateroom host cleaned but no luck:sad2:

Yep, well, ya know you gotta hold up the Dis Rule & have all your new best Dis friends over  :rotfl:

Sorry, wasn't trying to make you choke to death or spew things all over the keyboard. :lmao: I did try and break it gently.. ;)

It's funny you said that about catching a peek - I did the same thing on our 2005 cruise. I kept hoping we'd catch them with the door open, but we never did. :sad2: Can't wait to see the Roy.

You'll get a peek this time! :magnify: I've already set the precedent on our Celebrity cruise. We have the big suite; so on the night we do the volcano Kilauea Viewing - we're having a big party with all our new best CC friends. I couldn't possibly do less for all our new best Dis Friends!

:woohoo: Wahooo!:woohoo: You sure know how to travel:thumbsup2 gonna have cancel our Pride of Hawaii cruise and catch that Celebrity cruise:lmao:

Come aboard - we need more kids on the Celebrity cruise! ;)

I wish I could:upsidedow I am having a hard time finding some kids that will be on my April Hawaii cruise. My kiddos are gonna be a bit disappointed as they usually have friends that they e-mail before our cruises. I guess it's not like DCL where there usually is tons of kids my kids age.

We're having the same problem. We just recently had a family join the CC board that has a couple of little ones. Which was a relief, I had joked that I was afraid we would be shunned. :rotfl: Although we still don't know anyone for my son! :sad2: Time of year and length of cruise makes it challenging, but we're still hoping there are other kids on board. But, you're right it's not like DCL - where the mouse assures there is kids! :mickeyjum

Good morning fellow cruisers:flower3:

I am so excited this morning as I just found out my sister booked the Grand Californian for a two night stay this weekend::yes:: ...Disneyland here we come:banana: celebrating my son, Riley's 5th Birthday.

He will be 5 day after Valentines day...I also deserve a celebration since I had to give birth to him!! He was three weeks early and 12.1 lbs:scared: :faint:

I LOVE the Grand Californian! They are positioned so perfect for DL, CA and DD! A couple of things we've done there that we LOVED are:
  1. Housekeeping does a class on washcloth folding - kind of like DCL's towel animals - it was fun to learn how.
  2. Mickey's cooking class - was WONDERFUL. The kids made a pizza and some cookies (in easy bake ovens :) ) and one of the Resort Chef's came and visited and gave each child their chef hats and certificates - and samples for everyone - yum!
  3. The Build a Bear workshop is AWESOME! They open the Build a Bear an hour early just for the people with reservations - don't be late or they won't let you in. You have the attendants and the entire store all to yourselves. We had about 6 kids and 5 or 6 attendants to help all of us.
Oh my, three weeks early and 12.1 lbs :scared1: I think you deserve more than just sharing the celebration!

Wow, thanks! I didn't realize they had all those activities. Do you find out about them at check in? I have stayed there a few years ago (got great AP rate of 165.00) and they had a scavenger hunt but I think that was all:confused:

We are so excited!

They have a daily newsletter (I can't remember what it's called) - kind of like DCL's navigator that they leave in the room each day - just check it out and call for ressies! The majority of the activities are free or just a nominal fee.

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much! appreciate the advice! Will have a Dole whip for ya - if you don't like those, I have a Mickey krispie treat for ya! just cause that's the kind of friend I am:rotfl:

Have fun at the Grand Californian. I just adore that place. I was there last month celebrating my birthday. Too bad it was too cold and couldn't enjoy the pools.

Hope your son has a great birthday!!! :)

Confession time: I'm obsessed. I have a cruise coming up on another line in 10 weeks and all I can think about is this cruise in 15.5 months! How crazy is that? I can't seem to help it.

We received our confirmation in the mail along with the vacation insurance information and the cutest postcard from Mickey and Minne with stamps from Castaway Cay saying they can't wait to see us on the ship! DD4 loved it so much that she propped it up by the keyboard while she was watching some of her online books. :cutie:

Two Questions:
  1. Does anyone know how you can buy the new 2007 Disney Dollars (the princesses Arial, Aurora, and Cinderella) without visting the parks?
  2. The tuxedo company say's they don't have kids tuxedo's for rent at the San Diego port - does anyone have experience with a place that will rent and deliver the tux to the stateroom? I really didn't want to pack it.

Thanks everyone!

Add us to the inaugural Mexican Riviera. We went on the first one in 2005 and it was a BLAST! It will be me, DH, DD (8 during time of cruise), DS (4 on this cruise).

Can't wait,
Jennifer

Welcome Jennifer - that's so cool that you did the 2005 inaugural and now you're doing the 2008 also! :thumbsup2

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's been a while since I've checked in. I've been busy with my other meets thread. We leave 2 weeks from Friday and all of a sudden I'm in panic mode: do I have enough clothes, getting door signs made, plans for port days... It's a bit overwhelming as this is our first cruise. Thank goodness for the DIS :thumbsup2 . I'm obsessed too MousseauMob! You and princessdaisy are leaving soon too! Hawaii will be wonderful! Would love to do that cruise someday.

:welcome: Jennifer! Glad to hear the cruise was so great that you had to do it again.

MousseauMob-we got the confirmation and the postcard too! Sorry, I don't have an answer to your questions but have you tried calling the parks to order the Disney Dollars? On one trip my DH saw something he wanted to buy for me but wanted it to be a surprise so he called Disneyland after we got back and ordered it. Good luck!
