Bright Star is the code for a medical emergency...

Does anyone know if the person who had the medical emergency is okay? The alarm woke me up for sure, and by the time I was fully awake, the announcement was over.

I've got a few minutes before I have to pick up the kids from school...(so glad to have a quiet day without kids around).

First of all I wanted to thank everyone for all of the great Fish Bait we received. The Fishy stuff was a highlight of my kids trip and even helped get them out of bed in the morniing a few times when I told them they had something in the fishy thing, they flew out of bed. It was very exciting to them. Thanks for all of that.

Cardinal dad....great report! We were at the Talent show and I enjoyed our skit. I especially liked the totem pole scene, and got a good laugh. I've thought of that many times since then and got a smile on my face. I was wondering how your brother knew that so well....now I know. And your wife's piano playing was great too. I was very impressed.

As for the question about the parking at the port. It it not confusing at all, and there is plenty of parking. No issues with that. I can't speak for what time they allow you to arrive. We got there at about noon and there were already tons of cars there with plenty of spaces left, although some of those cars may have been from cruise ships that left on other days and the RCL ship that was also docked there.

As for disembarking, we were in the 7:15 breakfast group and we arrived about a half hour after that for breakfast (couldn't get the kids up and out that early). We were off the ship and through customs by about 9am and home by 10 am. You exit by dining rotation if you do not have flights you need to catch. So early dinners people disembark first after the early breakfast.

I found the ship to have virtually no movement. I couldn't believe how smooth it sailed. This was my 12th cruise and I felt this ship the least of all of those cruises. The last night I could feel the ship swaying but that was the only day. Other than that I had to remind myself I was on a ship. In fact I love being rocked to sleep and I was disappointed that there was no rocking. Now that I'm back on land it's another story. My house is still moving! Which is usually my problem for a few days until I get my equilibreum ( I have no idea how to spell that) back.

For all that have wondered about bringing your own beverages on board. We brought a soft cooler filled with water and beer with no problem at all. The only problem was keeping it cold because the beverage coolers don't work very well. Near the end of the trip I finally asked our room steward for an ice bucket for the beer after realizing my husband was purchasing beer instead of drinking the one's we brought.

When I get a chance in the next few days I'll post a trip report on the main page somewhere.

Once again, Thanks to Ellen for the swanky suite get together. I enjoyed meeting everyone out at the Mickey pool the first day and the few I hadn't gotten to meet at the swanky suite meet. It was so nice meeting everyone.

I forgot to mention in the other post. I had PPPiglet e-mail me all of those wonderful sail away photos. If anyone in our group is interested in them PM me and I'll e-mail them to you. She e-mailed me 3 times as many as she posted. There are some really nice one's in there.

Also, Did anyone happen to get a picture of ALL The characters lined up on the stairs in the atrium at the meet and greet the last night? I came out for it in the begining, my DD only needed one more autograph and then we went up to shutters to purchase a few pictures. By the time I got back the atrium was so crowded I couldn't get a good viewing area for a picture. If anyone has it I would love to have you e-mail me it. PM me and I can send you my e-mail address.

Thanks,
Tracey

I'm still working on pics. I'll post more later. I took almost 300:laughing:

We're home, we're home, we're home FINALLY! :cool1:

Tracey, I'd love the pic's - do you have an email for me already, or do I need to send you one?

I don't know if the person that had the medical emergency (bright star) is okay or not. I didn't want to pry and drill the poor officer on details that would make him uncomfortable. But, I did notice their door had the Privacy Please sign out (their cabin is right next to the bridge and we passed it), and this was on the last day of the cruise, so I hope everything is okay. My heart goes out to the family in their cabin.

I'll be posting pic's soon!

Ellen, So glad you are finally home. I hope you are feeling better too. I don't think I have your e-mail or if I do, I have no clue where it is. We all should really exchange e-mail addresses. If everyone wants to PM me your e-mail I can put it together and e-mail them all out to everyone.

Here's a link to a thread about our sailing with pictures and links to some video.

I can't believe I'm still on this board so much......it's consuming me!!!

Hey everyone!
We're home too! Got home ast night and Caliston is off to the airport already:worried: heading back to Afghanistan. We stopped for an overnight visit in our old neighborhood in Oceanside. Poor DS has been miserable since getting off the ship first with a bit of delayed seasickness (Which was quickly put at bay with sea bands and homeopathics) then he woke that night with a fever. By yesterday morning poor little one's nose wouldn't stop running and he has a full blown cold. :( I'm still fighting it but feeling pretty run down myself. I knew we shouldn't have gotten off the ship :lmao:

So bummed that we missed the meet in the Swanky Suite!! Looked at the clock and it was already 3 :confused3 But am glad that I got to meet just about everyone at the Mickey pool anyway  I think Kim and her family were the only ones to meet DH - it was great seeing you at Tony's!!

I heard the bright star thing too but didn't think anything of it as I was wandering the windy decks and barely even heard it. Hope they are ok.

Well just wanted to check in and see if everyone made it back ok.:grouphug: I'm off to finish some laundry and tend to my sick babe. What I wouldn't do for a room BLT and choc. chip cookie right about now!! Will write more later!!

Welcome Home Melissa, So sorry to hear about your son. I've been feeling light headed a bit from the "movement" too. I always get that way after a cruise. The house is STILL moving around. It usually takes me about 3-4 days to feel right again. So I can totally understand what your little guy is feeling. You might continue with the homeopathic stuff for a few days for him. At least you can be thankful that he wasn't sick on the cruise. You can deal with fever and cold at home much better than on the ship!

How long will Caliston be away for now? Is it harder to say goodbye after being together so much for a week or is it just always hard to say goodbye? How long has been over there? I bet you all had a very special week together. What more can you ask for than quality family time on the Disney Magic?

Okay, I finally got some pic's uploaded so I thought I'd share.

Hi everyone...after checking out some of the pictures you guys are posting I thought maybe we could share some of our common pictures from around the ship. As in those without our family & kids, like those of the ship, banners, swanky swillers, shows, deck parties, that kind of stuff. I do this with some of my friends with school things and we usually use Costco.com and we have a group page where share our pictures. I'd be happy to start one up but to invite you all I need e-mail addresses. Costco just upgraded their photo site and my account hasn't been transferred so I don't have access to it yet. It says 24 hours but we'll see. If anyone is interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll set it up and invite you into it. If you use costco for your processing you can order the prints right there. You can also save them into your own albulm on there too. Everything that would be posted there is in a separate albulm on the group page so if you were posting and put your name, we would know who to contact if there was a picture we wanted to save or print somewhere else. I know there were pictures that I missed, such as Lumieres, and I love the picture Tony posted of the life preserver. I think it would be cool to see what pictures some other people took.

Great pic's Kim, love the sail away shot - great angle! Your Mazatlan shot looks like you were standing on top of a building to take! ;)

Tracey, I'd be happy to share, I sent you my email address. My only problem is even though I took over 300 photo's, I don't have a lot of common pictures. Pitiful I know - I took no food pic's, only 1 internal ship pic - I really wasn't on the ball this time, plus we lost 2 days to illness. :( But, I'm happy to share what I have.

I still havent unpacked all of our luggage yet. Victor had a case of a small stomach flu the last few days of the trip and when we came home. Yesterday, we were at the doctors for over 5 hours getting IV fluids into him and taking multiple test to see what is going on. He went to the doctors with very pale lips and face and low blood sugars. So far they said that his oxygen was low but that is it.
I am going to try and post some pictures. Didnt get a lot but hoping that we will go again on a 3-4 night in Florida next year and wait for the repo cruise if it comes back here to LA.
We had a lot of troubles with the kids club. I just really can't believe how bad it was for us personally. I have never left our kids with anyone other than family and really pushed myself to send them to the club and it was good at first and gradually got worst and really lost my trust in them near the end. I wrote disney a letter about it so far and all I have received was a apology and that they will send the letter to other managers of the ship.
Will try and figure out how to post pictures again.

I'm so sorry this didn't work out for you! Our kids really enjoyed the club. We only actually checked them in a few times. Usually we were in there with them.

How do you add pictures again from photobucket? Do you just add the image link into the message or use the image icon?

Nicole hope Victor is feeling better soon. Morgan has is too. She has been so sick with a cold and flu. I sent her to school Monday and then they called. Then kept her home Tuesday. I read on the May 10th thread they all came home too as well. Strange I think.

Sorry to hear about the kids club, but I have to say we didn't like it either. There were over 1000 kids this trip, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. The staff in there were just plan rude. Last year on RCCL we had the best staff in the club!!! The best!! So, this REALLY surprised me, being Disney. DD's just said, Mom it's so boring, they don't do anything because they said there are too many kids, and they just didn't want to go. I was very surpirse at the way it was run this trip.
Sure hope Victor is feeling better soon.
