May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

7 months I am sooooooo excited to get back onboard!

We are not sure what we will do in Tortola probably just an Island Tour

I"ve updated the cruise pages!! The list and pictures!!:thumbsup2

I think the next 7 months are going to fly by...with the holiday's coming up and all!

Amy, how are the plans for you wedding? are they all set? What a great honeymoon to be going on the cruise!!

Stacey, a new grandbaby? How exciting!!

I looked up Tortola awhile back. I"m not sure what we are going to do. But I'm thinking we might do a dolphin encounter there.

Any updates on how Peter is doing at home? I hope he's doing ok!

I am doing very well, have 4 appoinments with Doctors, on Wednesday..

Will see what they say, but I feel better and better every day..
Still in alot of pain, as you can imagine 8 broken ribs will do that to ya!
The broken wrist is in a cast but it is removable, so it feels alot better as well..

Thanks for all the cards and gift sent this way.. I really enjoyed them.
I got 70 cards and gifts from family and friends...

I feel like my normal self with alot of pain.. ;)

Thanks Peter

Good to hear from you Peter! I'm glad to hear that you are doing better! I hope the pain eases up for you soon!

Only 7 months - I can't believe it - I am ready to go NOW!!! HAHAHA! Haven't posted in forever - life has just been zooming by. Got back from the World on the 14th, spent 6 nights at SSR enjoyed the Food & Wine Fest - boy was it HOT!

We are going back in Jan for 8 nights at WL Villas - woo-hoo! The best part - it's only costing us four vacation days at work and we are off for 10 days (we work 9 hour days and get every other Friday off and we are off for MLK day). I am the master at planning our vacations around our Fridays off, holidays off - extending into long vaca's with little time used (hence cruise to Tortola!!!!):cool1:

Hope everyone is doing well, will promise to drop back by more often, especially as we are getting closer!!

Our very FIRST!! And he or she is due almost exactly as soon as we get off the ship. I know it sounds kind of horrible, but I am NOT canceling the cruise to sit and wait for show time. Sharon and I have tried twice before to cruise together, on our Mom's Only cruises, and this time, we're determined that nothing will go wrong to cause either of us to cancel.
I'm really hoping it's true that first babies are often LATE. :rolleyes1

But I DO plan on getting to Omaha (where my daughter & her husband live) as SOON as I get off the ship.........

PETER!! I am so glad you posted!! What a terrible accident....again, I'm so sorry it had to happen, but happy that you're getting better, even if it is really slowly.

Hi to Jenn!!!

Amy, how are the plans for you wedding? are they all set? What a great honeymoon to be going on the cruise!!

The plans are coming along! I had no idea how much work it is to plan a wedding. Our honeymoon will actually be one week at WDW, staying at the Poly, and then this cruise with you all. We're SO excited - and it's the only thing that will keep me from being completely and totally depressed that the wedding is over!

And then the next best thing is going home and having your pictures arrive!!
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Amy Glad the plans are going well I spent last night reading your trip report and I cried during the whole wishes cruise portion.

Yay! You're right, I'll be excited about that when I'm on the flight home after the honeymoon. Then after the pictures I don't know WHAT I'll look forward to! :lmao:

Aw, thanks! I need to get going and finish that trip report, you know, since it's been over a year and we've gone on another trip since then!

Hi guys, we're getting excited the closer we get!!!
I ordered a Olympus SW850 underwater digital off their Ebay site and we now have a nice Black and red Refurb for half the cost. So what are everyones plans to bring booze aboard, have a package sent to your room by someone local, buy it at the Hotel? What are the excursions you are following? so many questions so many plans

I actually don't know what we'll do. I've thought about it. I drink Pepsi and have always brought that onboard....but if I can't find it in the airport shops or at the Hyatt, then I'm out of luck, since we won't have a car.
And...even though they sell Banfi Rosa Regal onboard, it's MUCH cheaper to carry our own on....but again, can't fly to FL with it....:confused3
May have to bite the bullet and pay ships' prices for it.
I suppose we could have a limo stop on the way to port....but are we leaving on a Sunday, and is liquor sold on Sunday mornings???

Peter, good luck with the recovery. Bet it feels good to be home.

In October 2005 I had major back surgery (spinal fusion for scoliosis). I had some ribs cut for that surgery. I know some of the pain that you're going through. My DIS friends from our blabbermouth cruise did wonders for me. That cruise in 2006 was my incentive for getting up and about. I got out of my final brace just before the cruise. I managed to get off of all pain meds just after Christmas.

Stacey, what do you mean you're leaving on Sunday? The cruise leaves on Saturday, May 23.

So what are the rules of flying with liquids. Thought you could pack it in your luggage. Guess it's a risk of it breaking though.

What are the rules of bringing liquor on to the ship? Is it still allowed in your carry-on or in the suitcase? Last time we packed it in the suitcase, if I remember correctly.

Brrrr..it's cold here in AL today!!! Yesterday I spent the evening reading Cruise trip reports and looking for DCL stuff on ebay! I am making up a box of a few things for our cruise as presents for DH and DS. We sell on ebay, but I've never really bought much (only a few things, and never on auction). So now I fear I may get addicted to buying...LOL Anyways, I am almost done with my Christmas shopping now! Just a few last minute "little" items for DH and we still need to buy a few "big" items for DS. Just waiting to see any sales on them.

I'm headed back over to read more trip reports! LOL:surfweb:

You'll have to forgive my feeble old mind. Saturday it is. And I think I said St Martin when I meant St Thomas!
Lately, if I don't look directly AT the reservation, or my calendar, or whatever, I can't seem to get things straight!

I'm really not all that concerned about getting the wine. They have it on the ship, and it's not that much money that we couldn't buy one bottle.

I don't want to put anything in my suitcases for fear of it breaking and ruining my clothes.

When we sailed this summer, we had to carry on our Pepsi and wine. We were advised to not put it into the luggage that we sent onto the ship.
I used two lightweight, collapsible, wheeled shopping-type bags to carry it on with.
