May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

Safe travels to all. is any one going to Grills for Dinner Friday?

I'm not sure where we're going. We have a friend picking us up at the airport to take us to the Hampton Inn @ Cocoa Beach, and we'll probably eat over there somewhere.
I know that we're meeting a group of other DISers for breakfast Saturday and it's either at Grill's or JB's....they know all the Florida stuff, I don't. I don't know which one of those is even a breakfast place!

I just went back and checked my notes. I guess it's Grill's that we're having breakfast at. Don't know about dinner....but I'll let you know if it's also Grill's. I don't even remember now what time our plane lands, but I think it's kind of later....like 7 pm.

Joanne....I saw a picture of a group of ladies on the last DVC Member cruise with pancakes on their heads......were you one of them??? :lmao:

What's your room number on the ship, in case I need to contact you about the Tortola trip?

I can't believe how close we are now!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to look for shoes today while mom was at dialysis...do you know NOTHING...not even the MALL...is open until 10am here in Al???? That's just crazy! I figured maybe 9am, no such luck. I had to head back to get mom so I didn't wait around. Guess I'm not meant to wear high heals with my dress...I'll be the short woman in the dress with flats! My ankles are weak so I got rid of all my high heal shoes years ago. Was going to try to wear them for the cruise...but it's better to look strange, and not have a broken ankle or leg on the 2nd night of the cruise :rotfl:

I'm off to see if i can catch a half hour nap before I get ds and we go get our meds, and then get some food that my grandma is requesting...she gets in tomorrow!!! I didn't get too much sleep last night...and I don't want to get sick from lack of sleep.

Heather, I don't wear high heels any more either. Bad enough to have a bad back, a bum leg and rotten knees....I also don't need a broken ankle!

I just finished calling the credit card companies....mine and Jared's. I probably will not use them, but thought I'd better call. What a pain in the neck. And TRY explaining a trip to Nebraska immediately after the Caribbean! :headache::laughing:

Have you made your FE yet - I am making mine tonight - hope this ATL air keeps me motivated thru the day so I can get it done LOL.

I cheated on my FE. I bought 2 drawstring bags from the Target Dollar Spot & fused them together. They are navy with a nautical logo (anchor & rope) on them. I put one so the logo is showing & put the other backwards. I'll find some sort of Mickey patch to iron on & will be done with it. Not the fancied FE but it'll have to do.

:banana::banana: Ok all T minus 4 days until sail away :banana::banana:

Last post for us and we're heading south.

Justmestace: we've got all the information for Tortola. We'll find you at sail away and fill you in on the details! Sounds like a great day!

We've had such good success with these types of sails we've booked another one while in St.Thomas!! Should be a great way to see lots of the islands.

Hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip down!! Watch for the Alien Green Mickeys!!!

We'll see you all onboard!

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Yes I am one of them. I have the Aqua blue sleeveless shirt. Some of those pictures the pancake had fallen off. That was such a fun bunch!

I am in 7126.

Those pictures were too cute!! I couldn't believe Mary would put a pancake on her head!

Hi, we are on this sail as well. Can't wait...we have never cruised Disney before and we live in Florida. We have an almost 4 year old boy and a little guy who will be turning one on the ship. Some of you might see us at the baths, as i am planning to take Speedy's over there with my crew. We are in our 30's and we are also traveling with both sets of parents (the grandparents) who are pretty much in their mid to late 60s. yes, I will bringing lots of alcohol! LOL.
Have to ask, what is an FE?

We are in room 6111, but hoping for an upgrade option to a window room at port!
Is there a current list of people going on the cruise and the ages of their kids?

Bruce got home from work today & was limping & in terrible pain. He went running today & rolled his ankle. Guess we won't be doing anything too strenuous on the cruise ... seems like The Baths are out for us. Oh well!

Bruce said that I'd be on my own for lugging suitcases for the 4 of us. Good thing we're driving & can drop everything with the porters. I'll just have to make sure our carry-on isn't too heavy if I've got to carry it!

Got my FE gifts done for the most part. Some things I can't put in until we get on the ship so they don't get damaged. Each stateroom will get 1 bag ... parents will hopefully be able to figure out what belongs to the adults & what belongs to the kids.

Went to Walmart tonight to pick up anything & everything that we'd possibly need (medicines, sunscreen, etc.) Boy did I spend WAY too much $.

Tomorrow night I'll start putting everything in the suitcases.

Safe travels to everyone that is leaving soon.

Angie....hopefully by next Tuesday, Bruce will be fit as a fiddle!!!
Didn't you tell him that we are ALL supposed to be being VERY careful all week??? ;)

WELCOME to the Cruise!!! You will LOVE the Disney Cruise!! We just moved from FL two years ago (i'm still a Floridian at heart!!)

I think it's great that both sets of the grandparents are coming along. Your family is going to have so many great memories from the cruise.

There is a cruise list with everyone's info listed in my signature. Or you can CLICK HERE.

Last call for AL-CO-HOL

Please, if you can, respond with a hearty "YO HO" if you want to see a little nip or two show up in your FE.

Only those who DO want them.

It might be a good idea for those who want them to also jot down eachother's names. That way, if you get something you don't like, you can call another person's room and trade.

yo ho- we're in it's not to late for the nips!

We're packed, we're ready we are leaving at noon TOMORROW! Just gotta get thru work today and half day tomorrow before we head out to Cocoa for two nights.

My to do list is short, pack the garment bag and remaining tolitries, check in with the pet sitter, get some $$$. Got my kitchen and fridge all cleaned last night, guess we'll HAVE to go out to dinner tonight, hahaha. That's okay, the new Longhorn Steakhouse just opened; we haven't been to one of those since we moved here from Atlanta three years ago.

Hope everyone has a magical day!

We're right there with you on eating out the day before leaving ... our plan is to eat out Thursday night. You've reminded me that I'll have to clean out the fridge Thursday night ... garbage passes Friday morning.

Where in ATL did you live?
