I'm getting excited for my upcoming May 2026 trip and thought I'd start a check-in thread! I'll post key details as they become available. If you are planning to visit in May, please post your dates, hotel, and share any thoughts you have about visiting DLR this May!

The schedule is currently being released day by day, so we don't yet have full visibility into hours, entertainment, and refurbs. As of 3/27, the calendar goes through 5/8. We have some clues about entertainment based on dining availability through Memorial Day.

Making a quick stop at the parks before heading to Palm Springs for a week in early May.
5/1: Fly in late afternoon
5/2: DCA
5/3: DLR
5/4: Joshua tree day trip + Palm Springs
5/8: Fly home

So get to do a couple crazy days at the parks with the kids and then relax by the pool the rest of our vacation. Really glad that we get to ride Pirates before they close. Hoping the parks wont be too busy with high ticket prices and sweet spot between spring break and school getting out. Not thrilled to be staying Staybridge suits but was only hotel where we could use our IHG reward nights that was walking distance (somewhat walkable).

Can't wait until May 1st!!!

We are going to be there May 15-18 staying at the DLH! Taking advantage of the CA resident ticket and got a good deal on the DLH as well! My niece has never stayed at the DLH and we are celebrating her graduation from Vet Tech school!!!

We’ll be at VDH May 1st - May 9th. It’s our first time making it to Star Wars Nites on May 4th & 6th.

@LKing - Suprised to see a dance competition over a holiday weekend. Do you know how Showstoppers will impact DLH and the parks? I assume it's not nearly as impactful as Dance the Magic since Showstoppers is competing all day at the hotel.

I'll be there the 28th-31st! I normally stay at the Hilton by the Convention Center, but with the ART busses going extinct this time I am staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for walkability. I am most excited for Soarin Over California! Bring me those orange groves!

We'll be there the 19th-24th for my birthday! Hoping the crowds won't be too crazy and that most of the refurb listed rides open back up by that point. 😬 I was thinking of maybe postponing to the last week of May, but we got a stellar deal on our stay at the Desert Inn that we figured we'd keep the dates.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. You might find the crowds are most manageable during your trip on the 23 and 24.

First time in DL with the fam. May 27th @ Hyatt House, May 28-30th @ Grand Cal 1 Br DVC (tried to get a studio for all 3 nights but GC is not our home resort). 2 Grad Nights so hoping it's not too crazy. We got park hoppers and LL for all three days.

Nothing was removed from the refurb list for Friday, May 15th. Fridays are typically the day things reopen. Lots of stuff scheduled to be closed - Monorail, Buzz, Roger Rabbit, Pirates, Toy Story, Jungle Cruise. I suspect some of this will drop off sooner than currently shown, and I expect more will drop off in a week for Friday 5/22 - the start of the summer season. I expect Pirates to remain closed for the foreseeable future.

I would be surprised if Jungle Cruise is still closed by the time Pirates closes, having both of those closed at the same time is really going to make that corner of the park dead, especially with Indiana Jones going down for hours almost every day.

I tend to agree with you, but just 2 years ago Haunted Mansion and Splash/Tiana's were closed at the same time for half the year (and at one point Pooh).

DLR is doing this new thing where they list rides as closed for refurb and then suddenly open them up with just a few days notice. I suspect many of these will open sooner than listed.

If all of these things are closed, I might have to rethink the timing of my late-May visit. Pirates alone being closed is devastating, but I can handle it. Pirates + Buzz + Toy Story + Monorail might be too much.

The Monorail is not listed as closed for Disney Channel Nights or Star Wars Nights. So I expect that will be open by April 10th.

Both Pirates & Jungle Cruise are listed as "Not Available" for Star Wars Nights.

Star Wars Nights expected closures:
Certain attractions and offerings may not be available during the event, including without limitation, Jungle Cruise, Fortuosity Shop, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Hungry Bear BBQ Jamboree, Blue Bayou, Pirates of the Caribbean and Chester Drawer’s.

Yeah that is true, I still think Jungle cruise will be reopened in the next couple weeks like Grizzley river run opened without an official opening date listed on the calendar.

I feel bad for my neighbors across the street they, are going for a trip starting May 4th and this will be their first trip with their kids. So much will be closed and Pirates being closed will really stink for them. For most of us here its a bummer if some rids are closed but I usually make to the parks about once a year so not the end of the world. Shoot we even had magic keys for a year and got our moneys worth living in Oregon. (Saved a LOT of credit card points during covid so travel was cheap).

Yes I am aware but Jungle cruise could reopen like Grizzley River run did with only a couple day notice.

It could but it has been said that it was expected to be 2-3 month refurb. 3 months would be mid-May. I am hopping it opens by Mid-April but not holding my breath.
