May 2017 Trip - Volcano Bay

I am a Disney veteran but relatively new to Universal. My family was planning a big trip in May 2017 - no Disney this time. Staying at Universal for a week with Sea World, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove. I have seen the tentative date for Volcano Bay opening June 1. For those of you who know Universal well:

- Do they usually stay on track with their opening schedule?
- Would there be soft openings in May?
- What are the chances we would get to see Volcano Bay?

I would consider moving our dates to early June but I don't love the heat and worry that crowds would be up because of the new park. What are your thoughts?

UO usually stays on track when opening something new

If there would be delays, it is announced in advance
