I was told when i called and booked the other day to start looking around Jan 6th

That sounds about right since the other promotion going on right now doesn't end until Dec 31st.

We are going May 3rd-May 11th and are hoping for a room discount. The discount is a much better deal for us since we are staying at the BC.

What is the process of applying a discount to an existing reservation? I have a trip booked for the 4/28-5/3 and it sounds like a discount might open for those dates on 1/6. The only problem is that morning my family is leaving for the Bahamas on a 7:15am flight for week. I'm concerned if I wait until I come back there won't be any availability for the discount. Is it something I can quickly do online that morning or do I have to call somebody at Disney to apply the discount to my existing reservation?

This is all assuming of course that a discount does become available for my dates.

That doesn't matter. Whenever you are able to, you just call and tell them that you want them to apply the new discount to your package.

I'd try to call as soon as possible, as some resorts don't have a LOT of rooms that are discounted. Also, if there is a discount, all resorts may not be included. I always try and call as soon as I know there's a discount to insure that I get my resort choice. I also have a backup plan if my resort is not included in the offer. Good luck!

I'm definitely hoping for a Free Dining offer too, though I won't hold my breath since they haven't done it for May in a while Free Dining is the only way the Dining plan will be worth it for us.

At least now we know our dates for sure - I had to wait til last Wednesday to bid for my 2014 vacation time, and we got the week we wanted - May 11th to 19th! We're waiting for the discount to come up to book the room though, since I work for a travel wholesaler and book through them instead of through Disney directly, but they have different terms and conditions so they don't just apply a new promo, it's cancel and rebook with fees.

I should have booked our flights as soon as I got my vacation dates booked though, because now the price has gone up over 100$ per person I'd just figured I'd wait til this coming Thursday, since that's when I'm getting paid for the first time in six months, and I don't like leaving large sums unpaid on my credit card. That'll teach me! Thankfully we should be able to work something out with different routing that won't be too different in price, just a bit more of a headache!

Fingers are crossed. Mouseasvers has the first week of January as historically releasing a discount. Fingers crossed. Does anyone know if DVC rental can qualify for free dining?

DVC rental does not qualify for any of the discounts offered.

We are going April 26-may 4. Went one week earlier this year. A discount came out first week of January but it was a PAIN to get through and get it applied. We spent hours on hold and eventually booked a new trip and cancelled the old one. I think the holding was just due to everyone else calling for the discount. My MIL waited a few days and had no problems.

I don't even try to get through on the phone. I book a new reservation online and then call about a week later to cancel the original one.

I am very new to Disneyworld and wondered where I can find any discounts. Is it just a code you tell them when reserving? How does this work and where do you look for them? Those are my dates too some general discounts should be coming out early January. Maybe last couple if days of December for Disney Visa Card holders. At least that's what I hear. Just keep looking and then you can call and have the discount applied.

So cool!!! I picked those dates so we could go to Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios and the Flower Festival at Epcot. Plus it is my boys last week of school so I am sure they will not miss much. They really do not do anything their last week. Where do I look for the the discounts? At mouse savers? Is there any where else to look?

We are just going to try and go and be calm and deal with the crowds. We have Park hoppers so if we need to leave we will. Your best bet to find out about discounts are right here on these boards. Yeah that's just it. We made all our ADR's at 6:00am our time on the 180th day which means we had to know which parks we would be at that day. It will be hard enough to manage one park per day with three young boys while using Disney transportation so we decided not to do the park hopper. We planned our meals at the one park because I thought it just would be easier that way. I guess we will find out and adjust our next WDW vacation depending how this one goes. I will keep checking. Any word let me know and I will do the same.

We are headed to WDW May 1-5 for my little girl's 5th birthday. I've been waiting patiently (or impatiently) for the discounts to come out for then. Glad to join this thread and talk to others who are waiting with me!

We want to go May 10-17. Anyone remember/know if BLT is ever included in the discounts or do they have no trouble filling it so it is excluded?
