May 2013 Car Rental - Best deals?

Wow...so strange....when I use that code (for the same dates you're using), I get a weekly rate of $260 for a mid-size (the cheapest rate they're offering me with that code). A compact is $374!

Yet when I use the Corp ID of OI1054, I get a rate of $30/day for a compact (again, the cheapest rate for that code).

Must be the times of pick-up/drop-off that are giving me the odd rates. My pick-up time is noon, but my drop-off time is 5pm.

They are charging me 4 days and 2 hours (10am pick up and 12 noon drop off).

At least you get an extra day at Disney! Both direct flights home for me are now in the morning. Which sucks.

Got a tip from the April thread that saved me $68 so I thought I'd pay it forward. For April 30-May 9, got a mid-size with Alamo for $226 using the Southwest Rapid Rewards corporate code: 7016105 and the Visa coupon: AD2338FDF. The best rate I found before this was $294 for a compact with National using the KLM code. Hoping rates continue to go down.

i also reserved at national using the KLM code and it was far and away the best rate i could find!! hopefully as we get closer, rates will drop & coupons are going to come available for our dates so that will help things come lower also :)

i currently have an SUV reserved but i'm wondering if it's worth just reserving a mid sized to save a few (and is quite literally isn't much) dollars, taking a chance with the Emerald Aisle and hoping to find one?? thoughts? we've never used this option/membership before...

I just booked with Dollar (City Special) and got a car from 5/4-5/14 for $244. I am going to keep checking for lower rates since last year I was able to rent from Alamo for the same number of days for $148. The rates really dropped in the last week.

CDP 1434515 gives the same rate with no membership requirements for those who aren't members of BJ's

that's great! I have heard that they do not ask for BJs cards but this code would work for all :cool1:

I will still keep an eye out for a lower price though!

Just went to the Alamo website to check the rates again, went down another $50 for our dates 5/3-5/12. $184.23 midsize using BJ's code and Visa coupon# AD2359FDF
Hope it helps someone

Was just able to rent a mid-size from Dollar (City Special) 5/4 - 5/14 for $219. It dropped $25 from yesterday and I upgraded to a bigger car. I am going to keep checking. It seems the prices at Dollar are now dropping daily. Hopefully I will get something for under $200 by the time my trip rolls around. The most I have paid for the same time period in the last 3 years was $178.

Thanks for the tip! Checked mine again and it went down $30 for Apr 30-May 9. $196 for mid size using Southwest code and Visa coupon.

We used the KLM code and the $20 coupon code (NWEBCPN027) from National and got a mid-size SUV for the week of May 9th-16th for $224 (renting in TPA, tho' MCO was only a couple of $ more).

Since I always get the Loss Waiver Coverage (and it can cost around $30/day) this is by far the best deal I've found.

I usually keep an eye out for discount codes, but wait until at least a month out to actually book and then usually rebook that last week before I leave, when prices start really dropping. However, it looks like prices are dropping early this year. I just used my Alamo insider, Southwest 7016105, and the VISA AD2338FDF discounts and got a midsize car for eleven days for $218.47 all fees/drive out price. That's less than $20.00 a day (all fees included). I can live with that.:rotfl:

Yesterday my rate with Alamo was over $500 for 5/11 - 5/18. Just now, got it for $151.12 using AARP code and Visa code AD2338FDF!!! Rate is same price for compact through premium.

Darn! I don't qualify for AARP. Great deal!

Try the Visa code - 7015504

Nevermind, the cost is already back up. For everyone looking - try MANY times a day. Every time I've caught a great deal, it's gone again in no time.
