May 2011: The kids are getting 3rd visit surprise! Now w/pics!

You are luck with snow days, DD is in school till June 17! We are taking her out for our trip -she will msis 4 days.

They have yet to announce the official last day of school. I've been told it's 5/29, but its not been "officially announced" yet. So kids will miss a few days, but oh well!

Tell her you are going on a family expedition to a swamp. sort of true since that is how the area around WDW started....

I love this!!! She doesn't know that FL is "swampy". Awesome idea, thank you!!! :thumbsup2

We are hoping to catch P&F too. wish that doofenschmirtz was there!!! the Doof!

Yeah, it bites that we won't get to meet the Doof .. but at least its P&F!!!!!! :cheer2:

You can volunteer as an extra? cool!! MY DH always wants to see this and we are foiled every time.

I've read conflicting stories on how to be a part of the show. I've been told you request (before they even start seating) and I've been told you just have to be lucky. So I'm not certain exactly how it works, and figured I'd ask a CM once there. :thumbsup2

Katie LOVES the HISTK Playground. its fun and as long as DH stands by the exit, we are good to go!

DS had an absolute blast playing on it last year while waiting for mom and big sis to ride ToT and RnRC. I'm sure he'll get plenty of playtime there this year!

we will skip Disney Jr live but will try to do the Playhouse Dance Party if they still have it in May.

What's the Dance Party? Anything Playhouse Disney is right up DS's alley!

I am curious about the Star Tours redo, but it will be reopening on our last day at DHS so I am not sure we will be able to get to it, its the start of SWW so we may not want to battle the crowd.

I've got my fingers crossed that you'll get a ride on the new Star Tours!

Dinner will be at DTD. We have 6:30 reservations at Raglan Road. I'm a bit worried about this one, as after I checked the menu, I didn't really see anything that appealed to me.

I know DH would have a hard time narrowing down his choice ... and I'll have a hard time finding something that I think I might like.we just added this to our ADRs and are looking forward to it. I will have a hard time picking because I love this menu!

I'm sad that we won't be trying RR this year, but there's always next year, right? I went with Maya Grill so we didn't have to leave the resort - more time in the pool for the kids and less running around we'll be doing.

I can't wait to compare trip reports with you after -- we have lots similar to do here as well! We have seen Nemo, its awesome! and the Jungle Parade was DD;s first ever in her life parade. it was SO COOLto see the look of amazement on her face watching the parade.

Our first "parade" was actually MiSiCi Street Party (it enticed us enough to want to see the 3pm parade at MK - so we found a spot for it! I'm looking forward to seeing new parades, and ones we've seen before, we'll see it if time allots, but not stress if we have other things we'd prefer to do. :thumbsup2

I am anxious to read your TR as well. I've been following your PTR and looks like your trip will be a blast, too! Plus, its always awesome to see things through other people's perspectives!!

right, no one here is addicited. HI, My name is Mary Ellen and I am a Disney addict.

I heard there was meetings for people like us ... but I can't bring myself to walk away long enough to attend one. :lmao:

would you consider using the resorts kids club for an hour or two & just have a nice grown up dinner, no kids? or even just use the kids club and a swim or a walk around the resort if you don't want to be too far from them. My DH's bday is the 18th so we are celebrating the heck out of that, but our anniversary is 6/6 and he wanted to try & mix that in as well. I told him I didn't want to take away from his bday.

We haven't really talked about it ... but I guess it would be a good suggestion. I'm not certain where we would be able to the time in though. I'm all about staying in parks open to close. :rotfl:

Have you ever done a water park here? We have not, and aren't this time, but I would think they are fun. I need my butt to be a bit smaller so it fits easily down all those crazy slides first!@!

We hit both WPs last year and had an absolute BLAST! I didn't hit any of the slides, but that was because I stayed with DS (he was a mommy's boy last year when it came to water). DH and DD did a few slides, and we did a family raft slide at one of them (it was not the Teamboat Springs - or whatever its called - as it was in refurb). The only issue I had was moving from one area to another - it was too cool outside for my taste. The water felt great, but it wasn't fun being wet and moving to another location - I shivered the whole time, but I stay cold anyway. I absolutely LOVED  LOVED the lazy rivers!

Have you looked at the prices of your TS meals? one of them might be a lot cheaper.....you don't have to give it up, just pay OOP for the cheapest meal. it makes no difference for the reservations.

That's what we would have done - but DH isn't thrilled with the idea of an "expensive breakfast". Sure, a buffet would be so much yummier than an egg muffin from a drive thru window, but he's all about the budget. So I'm still working on it, and we'll pay OOP for the breakfast (as it will probably be cheaper than any of our TS meals).

I've said this before, and others may disagree, but I think Akershus is much better than CRT

To be honest, I have never had either for breakfast, but I can totally see Akershus being better. However, we've dined at Akershus before, and I want to experience CRT. Plus, if we hit MK, that's another ride or two we could pick up before we left WDW. :lmao:

what is a bounceback offer???

I'm not 100% on this, but from what I hear, its an offer they give you while you're on your current vacation to book before you check-out. If someone else is more knowledgeable, please chime in!

I haven't read through but wanted to comment before I forgot what I wanted to say
Great PTR!!

Thank you! I commented back in red above. :thumbsup2

I think you are right on the bounceback. Sometimes the offer is in your room. I've heard that some people ask about the offer at the desk. And sometimes it isn't offered although I'm not sure if that is based on resort or person or time of year or what?

I think someone posted that if there wasn't an offer in the room, there was a number you could call to get one. :confused3

I do remember seeing flyers in our room at ASMo and CBR with an offer that if we booked our next trip before we left we'd get the deal on the flyer. We're last minute people ... so we never took the offers, however, maybe this year!

Okay...I am basically caught up on most of your PTR.

Your kids are adorable. DH will eventually "get" the Disney thing, I'm sure. And I think he will really enjoy 50's Prime Time. If he loves Disney food, tell him my DH says the Pot Roast is a MUST. We also love Flame Tree Barbecue--ooh....so good.

Okay, even though I'm leaving Saturday, I'll have the laptop and will do better about keeping up.

Thank you for the compliments! I hope DH eventually "gets" Disney ... but even if he doesn't, I'll keep going without him. :lmao:

The pot roast sounds and looks soooo delicious. Glad to hear another vote for it! I definitely want to try it - and I'm sure he won't be upset with trying it either.

Have a safe and fun trip! And put the laptop away and go enjoy yourself!

I feel soooooo bad, I know came over here and checked out your PTR, but somehow I must have been side tracked by the kids or something else and didn't sub.:headache: So here we are talking on my PTR and I relized I hadn't read anything on yours lately. I have resolved the problem and have read the entire PTR.

My DD was also diagnosed with Asthma when she was about 3. It was scary because every time she started getting sick she would start having breathing problems. She was also put on Albuterol and Polmocort, luckily she hasn't had any problems for about a year and a half and isn't on any meds right now.:thumbsup2

As for traveling to WDW with an asthmatic, I don't have any advice there but Liam does have breathing issues so I can give you some advice. If you are at all worried about problems at the parks you can bring the nebulizer with you and store it at the first aid station. Don't forget to bring a couple of viles of the medication you might need. Liam does Albuterol twice a day and Polmozyne (a CF med) once a day. He can do Albuterol a couple more times a day if needed so I definatly be bringing the Nebulizer with me to the parks. A bit of a hassal to tote with us, but worth it if he will need it.:) I would also advice talking to your DR about where to go just in case you need to see a dr in Florida. Hopefully not need, but always a little more relaxing when you are prepared.

I think it is very cool for you guys to be going to Six Flags over GA. I would love to try it sometime. I have also passed the Six Flags over ST Louis (is that the right name?) on the way to a family reunion in Missouri in 2009 and it look like fun.:woohoo: We have the Six Flags Great America by my house (about a 20 min drive) so I try to get season passes every year. I think they are about $65 this year, so I need to get them soon (when I get taxes from Mia's father). We love to go there and play at the water park. We really don't do any rollercoasters because the kids are too small. The ones that are big enough are two scared to go on them.:scared1: That is also the reason we won't be going on ToT, RnRC, SM, MS, and anything else he deems "scary". Though I have won the fight on going on Splash Montain, at least for now.:rotfl:

Just love your food pics, Luckily it's almost lunch because I am so hungry.popcorn::

I'm glad to hear she's doing well! DD had done well for awhile, but something happened and she's been struggling. I even had to talk to her teacher again, he hasn't been letting her do her treatments at school (he misunderstood, so everything should be fine now). I'm afraid I'll have to take her back soon, she's not shown any improvement, but want to see how things go with the teacher giving her treatments at school before I make another appointment.

When you take the nebulizer in, how do you leave it at FA? Hmm... that didn't make sense.... Okay, how about this, can you explain what you do with the nebulizer in the park? I've been worried about having to take meds into the park with us, if I have to get them checked by security or something. I guess I should go read up on how Disney handles bringing in prescription medications into the parks.

I love Six Flags. I love roller coasters! DH, however, does not, so its always been a struggle to go, since Six Flags focuses on coasters. The last time we went, I suffered from heat exhaustion, so I got a bit queasy on some of the coasters. Superman made me claustrophobic ... so I had some issues with remaining calm while waiting FOREVER for them to start it. (One of the restraints was malfunctioning - on an empty seat - so it was a bit nerve wrecking thinking "What if its my restraint next?") I'm a thrill junkie, but ToT is just too much for me. The only thing I can think of is because I was stranded in an elevator at work (frequently - since it liked to break down often), as I mentioned in a reply earlier. :confused3

Just love your food pics, Luckily it's almost lunch because I am so hungry.popcorn::

Mmmm! Lunch! I had lunch with DS and his classmates today. :thumbsup2 Anyway, see above in red. And welcome back. :lmao:

As far as I know you should just be able to take in with you and than drop it off at first aid. I didn't take it with last time, so I probably should find this out myself. Can probably find this out by calling WDW itself or by asking at the DISability thread.:)

Good idea! Thank you!!

Just got off the phone with WDW to upgrade our dinning plan and while they had me on hold I asked about the nebulizer and meds. All you need to have is documentation that the nebulizer and meds belong to your daughter. So I believe that means to bring the meds in the package with the perscription and a doctors note for the nebulizer. Just don't forget your nebulizer at the park.:lmao::lmao:

I also want to share some information that I learned at a workshop for people with CF. After you sterilize your nebulier parts, place them in a zip lock bag and mark it sterilized. (a typed sticker might look more official than hand written) There for people checking the nebulizer will be less likely to open the bag and contaminate the sterile parts. I learned this tip for the airplane ride but figured it would also work for Disney.

I have also learned that Breast bump sterilization bags (can find at BabyRUs) are great for sterilizing Neb parts while on the road. Add a little water into the bag with the parts and throw it in the microwave for a about 45 seconds. Works great!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Sorry so long, hopefully this info is helpful.:hippie:

That's awesome information!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! I think I might invest in some color stickers - they might stand out a bit more. And you know, I might put a sticker over the top of the ziploc bag, too, as like a tamper seal. Hmm... good idea! :thumbsup2 Thank you!!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here. I've paused planning temporarily - but lurking on the boards to read posts and everyone else's PTRs daily. I'll discuss my reasons for the pause later when I have more information to share. And so no one worries, its absolutely nothing bad. ;)

However, I am helping DS's Pre-K teacher plan her family's first trip! I'm so excited for them! They'll be going in October, and I have very little information on their trip, but I have begun the process on helping her narrow information down so she can book and start getting her ADRs scheduled.

I'll post again soon, depending on how much information I'm able to collect and how long it takes to get everything in order. :thumbsup2

And just because I'm in a hugging mood... GROUP HUG! :grouphug:

How exciting about DS's Pre-K teacher planning her first trip. You will be so helpful to her with all your guidance. :thumbsup2
 Aww! Thanks! I needed that today! Cannot wait to find out the reasons for your pause. ;) Still cannot find my mouse. I think someone stole it!!!
Good vibes still coming your way!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

:hug::hug::hug::hug: Extra hugs for you! Is everything okay? Hoping all is well!!

I've loaned her my 2010 Birnbaum book (as I still use my 2011) and told her that I think she should invest in it, and I'd even pick one up for her from AAA with my discount if she wanted. She made copies of pages and tried to hand me back the 2010 edition, but I refused and told her to keep it until her trip or she gets 2011. :lmao: Once I get her educated a bit more, I'll get her on the boards I'm sure.

I really think that you need to invest in a tracking chip for your mouse! Shall I set out the jar for donations? :rotfl2: (Have you checked toyboxes, the fridge, and the closet you never use?)

Thanks for the goodvibes! :goodvibes Really means a lot to me!! I'm hoping everything gets sorted out soon - the suspense is driving me insane!!! :rotfl:

I LOVE your Cartwheeel story. That is so cute, and now its forever the Cartwheel. Its so great what sticks in their little minds.
Looking forward to reading more and well we are almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the Cartwheel story. He's a bit sad that it'll be awhile before he can ride it (I do hope to make it to DL one day, but won't be anytime soon). I wonder what he'll call the ferris wheel at DollyWood this year. :lmao:

the suspense is killing me!

yay for first trip planning! she'd got a great helper! my inlaws are going on their first trip this fall. mil asked me for a few pointers but it didn't work so well. i tried to give her my advice and when she asked, but i think she just got overwhelmed. so i pointed her to websites and gave her my old unofficial guide.
in a way its for the best. she is hard headed like i am and very different from me, so its hard to really get things done. For instance, she has decided she has no interest in riding rides. my bro in law/ sis in law/ niece/ nephew are now going with them. they have been before but dont plan really at all. i'm glad that they are going with them- so they dont have to go by themselves. (plus it would not be a fun trip for me). but still in a small way i wish we were goign with them so we could show htem how to do it right:lmao:

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be suspenseful! I really do hope everything gets sorted soon, and I'll spill the beans. :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't able to be involved in your extended family's planning. I think I lucked out since DS's teacher IS overwhelmed and really would like someone to "hold her hand" through the first trip planning process. I have a spreadsheet I made up for her (I got to practice my vlookups ), and once she gets ready to book, I'll help her with the booking process (check for deals and such), give her the spreadsheet, and turn her loose. I'll keep myself available if she has any questions. I gave her a spreadsheet today of which park to visit which day in the time frame she's looking for and went over it with her. I think she's ready for the "training wheels" to come off soon. :lmao: But its really been a blast having someone to talk Disney to (talk, not type :rotfl2:).

Maybe one day you can show them how to do Disney the right now. :thumbsup2

I am wondering if she is just afraid to talk about it to me? She hasn't "told" me that she is going with BIL etc. Maybe she thinks I'll be upset? This is her first trip and probably only so it's good she is going with them. I wish I could convert them to the planning dark side though. They don't plan parks or adr's or anything. I'm just afraid they will come back and talk about all they did was wait in line. I don't know why, but it makes me sad when someone doesn't like Disney, especially when I know that proper planning can really enlighten their experience! At least I have my family who willingly lets me plan for them!

I was just kidding with you about the suspense! Just hope all is well;forgive my nosy-ness!
