We were all set at Wilderness Lodge deluxe room until a pin code showed up in my email yesterday. Of course no discounts available for this room so ended up switching to the Poly and saving around $700

Glad to hear that they are starting to send out pin codes for May. Hoping to go 5/6-5/14. I got a 40% off pin email last year around this time. I'm hoping fo ranother one! At the very least, I hope they publish a decent public offer!

Glad to see that there is a pin out there for early May now. Hopefully public pins will follow. But have to say that my AAA discount on room is probably better. I have 2 young children and won't be doing any water parks and probably are going to be ok without park hoppers too.

What kind of deal did you get with AAA? I don't want free dining or a package, I'm just need a good room rate for a moderate.

I called AAA for a quote and I was told that the discount on a moderate is 15%.

Ok, I am tentativly planning may 27-june 4th. what is the pin code advantage? Right now you book a package with free dining plan, I thought that was a good deal in it self. I have never been to disney before, so all this planning is really over whelming.

It really depends on your family and where you are staying. Right now - free dining is probably the best deal for you. But as an example.... my family stays at a deluxe resort and neither our small children or DH and I eat a very large amount of food. Given these two things - a room discount (whether it is via a private pin sent by email or a public code) would save us more $$. We would then pay for food OOP.

You basically have to look at all the discounts that are availaible to you and pick the one that is best for you. Keep an eye out for new ones - if there are rooms available you can change your reservation to take advantage if it will save you more money.

You might want to 'simplify' and plan on the free dining and then just take your trip. Once you get there, see what there is to do, etc., then you can plan more for the next trip. For some, the free dining is all the discount they want/need.

With free dining, scan over the listing of the types of places available to utilize and start deciding what restaurant menus appeal to your family before you leave. Enjoy your first Disney vacation.

I have booked for next May with free dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but if they have pins with % off, taking the % off will be a better deal for my family. But, we still get the dining plan, but will just pay OOP. I so hope I get a pin. I got 40% off last year at the Contemporary which helped a lot!!

I wonder if the meet & greet is a really cool unique thing (hanging with Mickey and Cindy in the up top castle suite) - or if it’s a fastpass to a long line regular character greeting line?

I want the free dining pin too. It's strange that I get pins like crazy but I didn't get the May one. I did send off for a vacation DVD and told them I was interested in coming in May though. Maybe they think I'm coming anyway so they aren't sending me a discount for May. lol! But guess I'll reschedule if I can't get anything!
