Marshay you are so talented. I wish I were artistic. I am too impatient, I want it to be finished yesterday..........:rotfl2: . I can cross stitch and crochet but that is about as talented as I get. My oldest son is a very good artist and I don't know where it came from.........lol. OK now, tell me exactly what I need to do to make my LGMH's, I really want to meet up with more Disers this trip.

Thanks

Thanks for the kind words! I truly never thought of myself as creative or artistic or even crafty...I was always into academics and sports...with a little piano thrown in there too!

I swear the DIS Creative Community is a contagious disease! Once you start looking at what others are doing, you catch the bug and want to do them, too!

Now, back to your question about LGMH:

Go to Home Depot paint section and pick up the Mickey-shaped paint samples. The DIS "color" is the one that is lime green entitled "Alien Green".

Now you can pick any of the colors -- it doesn't have to be the lime green one. A DIS friend of mine loves Tigger so she chose the orange one as her LGMH, but I guess it would be OMH!

Now at a minimum you can just write your DIS screen name on it and be done. You might want to laminate it to protect it from the rain.

Or you can add all sorts of things:

- "googly" eyes
- a smile
- the dates of your trip
- the name of any threads you like to hang out on
- the name of a thread (i.e., your Trip Report) you made
- any DVCs you own
- your real name
- a bow
- cover it in felt
- add glitter
- add hair or fur

The possibilities are endless.

Some people soak the paint sample in water for a minute and then peel the paint chip from the back of the card and laminate that.

I just used the entire card since I didn't want to deal with soaking it.

If you add anything 3D, it will be harder to laminate. I decided not to laminate mine since the googly eyes prevented the laminate paper from staying flat.

Now you can also make larger LGMH to hang on your purse, fanny pack, stroller, etc. Just get construction paper, draw a Mickey head and decorate. I highly suggest laminating any that you will wear on your body or bags since they will get torn up more.

OK, so now you are in WDW and as you go about your day, look for other people with LGMH...if you see them, go over and say "Hello! I noticed you have a LGMH and wondered if you are a part of the DIS." If so, hand them your LGMH and maybe they will give you one in return. If not, tell them about the DIS and encourage them to join.

On my September trip, I only ran into one other DISser but found lots of other Disney loving folks who never heard of the DIS. Immediately a pleasant conversation ensued!

OK, now go out and make your LGMHs and don't forget to show us a photo!

I just read your entire sept TR at work (yes my job is boring!) and it was great! thank you so much for sharing with us! so then I hopped on over here and found this and skimmed it.

i just wanted to say coral reef and the GF cafe are two of my fav. disney restaurants! GF cafe is romantic and relaxing, i ahve had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and it has yet to disapoint! good luck!:goodvibes

OK we have a possible plan change. We may be staying one day less but staying on property with dinning. Who knows.................lol. DD wants DF to have a special trip since this is his first trip since he was 7(he is now 21) so we might be getting 2 rooms at the ASMU with dining. During our stay they are offering park hopping and water parks as a free add on so it makes it more appealing, I will keep an update going. Not canceling Buena Vista Suites just yet.....lol Looking so forward to going no matter where we stay.

I forgot to mention. I am the ultimate southerner. I love to hug, soooooooooo, iffin you don't want a big ole " sooooooooooooooo good to meet ya" hug say so here and I will try my darndest to refrain..............lol. That hugging thing is just me. Being a nurse I like the human touch.........lol I am looking so forward to meeting my fellow Disers. Maybe we can even have a burger together?

Hi Marshay- even though I have nothing to add, I just wanted to let you know I think the alphabet game is a great one!!! Its a great way to make your trip even more special!

I wanted to ask, have you ever been to the Cape May Cafe Character breakfast (or heard anything about it)? I wanted to do a character breakfast on one of our non-park days, and I couldn't get a reservation at Chef Mickey's at all that week. DD will be only 18 months, so this will be our only character meal b/c I don't know how she will react to it. She doesn't 'know' the characters at 1900 Park Fare, so I though Cape May is our best bet. I also made a dinner reservation at San Angel and one at Ohana (scheduled this a little later to take advantage of the fireworks view). I am debating :confused3 on CP or LTT also... What do you think about these plans so far?

Hey, Welcome!!!

Wow! Reading all the September thread was quite a challenge! Hope you had some fun doing it!

And I'm so happy to hear you like Coral Reef and GF...I really wasn't sure about these and so glad to hear good comments!

Hey, the DDP, even for one night would be great! Make sure that isn't your last night there, though...That way you can actually spread out the snack, CS and TS meal into two days!

It's funny...growing up I was not the touchy-feely person at all (my friends laughed at me b/c I didn't even cry at my high school or college graduation)...so I actually tried to train myself to engage in the whole shaking hands, giving hugs type of thing...then after having my DD who you just want to slather with hugs and kisses it also helps teach the importance of the human touch.

So, long story short -- I'd be upset if I don't get a hug from y'all! :goodvibes

Hey Ipol! I always welcome comments on this report -- even just to say hi or time for an update!

We went to Cape May Cafe breakfast in Sept (you can check out my Sept trip report link below ... the first page shows the page number for pictures from this). It was terrific!! The character interaction was so much better than Chef Mickeys and the food was wonderful! I highly recommend going to this. I think it was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Dale.

The only reason we aren't doing this again is that I wanted to try two new character meals.

My only complaint was that it took forever to get in so I suggest an earlier morning reservation. Ours was for around 10am and we waited maybe 45 minutes ... which was torture when you are hungry and you smell all that good food!

I haven't been to Crystal Palace but my parents say it is the best buffet restaurant. I'm not into the WtP characters so I try to avoid that...

I know Sharky from this thread had a great meal at LTT but I haven't done that either.

Actually, I haven't eaten at any TS restaurant in Magic Kingdom...there is just always so much to do and see that I never felt like taking the time to sit...I guess that's something I should do for our next trip!

That's exactly how I feel about TS in the parks! I am just too excited to be there with DD that I want to go with the flow in the parks. I know we have to be VERY flexible! Thanks for answering my questions and giving me some reassurance!:goodvibes

Love your trip report, I'm also going in May. :)
We don't have a lot of ADR's, since we also feel like we don't want to take a lot of time to eat, since we want to do a lot. ;) But we have 2 reservations, one for Chef Mickeys dinner when we arrive at Disneyworld, and one for breakfast at Cape May, since Chip and Dale are our favorites. :)

Kind regards, Sandra

Woo hoo! When are you going?

And welcome!

We start our vacation on April 26th in Miami, then we go a couple of days to Key West, and a couple of days to Fort Myers Beach. We'll arrive at Disneyworld at May 3th, untill May 10th. We will stay at Pop. :)
