May 2, 2014 - A WONDERous trip through the Locks WBPC

Hello. On the very first post in this thread there is a link to a google doc to sign up for the FE. There are 20 cabins in each group. So far groups 1 and 2 are closed. A 3rd group just needs a few more cabins to be full. If that one closes a 4th group will open. Once the group is filled you will receive an email with your list of cabins and the details about those participating.

The first post also includes sign-ups for mixology classes, secret santa, candy exchange, etc.

Thanks for the info! We have not yet received our cabin assignment but I signed up. We don't have any kids with us this time around but we will pass things along to our grandkids. We mostly like filling other peoples FEs.

For me, Epcot's F&G show is the big draw before the cruise, and Peter Noone & Herman's Hermits will be there on the weekend! we have seen them before & enjoyed the show.

I was able to get some FP+ s for the days we will be at WDW, but immediately before, we'll be at Vero Beach.

I was wondering if the F&G would be on. One year we were there for 5/6 weeks and saw the preparations from when they were digging up the grass in areas they were going to be planting flowers, to when it was 'open'. Not in complete full bloom though.

I hated the FP+ system at first. So limiting. But I did get used to it, even though we did double dip when we could. My suggestion is to keep trying. People's plans change and things do come up. I was able to switch things around on the fly at WDW during Christmas, which is way busier than when you are going. I was even able to get the dinner package for F! two days before Christmas just a couple days before. It had been sold out for months, but I just kept checking. I am kind of a freak about it, checking multiple times a day, every day, but it worked for me! Crossing my fingers for you!

We had a few days at WDW last November and used the FP+ then, booking them just the day before as we didn't know anything about it. We did find the fastpass lines were much longer than they used to be and at some rides it was almost quicker to go through the ordinary line.

Would you please add 2 for the final day luncheon.. Thank you jrp

jrp, do you own at VWL?

Hi Muushka
Yes we do own at VWL. We have since 2001 as we previously lived in St. Pete until 2007 when we moved here outside of Dallas when the DW's job transferred her here. I miss FL something fierce, but home is where the heart is. Looking forward to meeting you on the Wonder soon. jrp:firefight

Oh fun! Have you ever visited the VWL Groupie thread? Nice bunch of folks over there, just as Bobbi :goodvibes

No one has signed up kids before now....you may be the catalyst! All are welcome!

Not to butt in on anyone's organization, but on the EBTA I think the Secret Mickey participants were at the luncheon. I saw some people opening presents.

Awesome! But keep checking -- if it drops, you book it and cancel the first one. Lather, rinse, repeat. As I mentioned earlier, I am a freak about it -- check multiple times per week on this. At least once a week when you are very far out. As the time nears, you will see prices drop. I said it before, but I got a minivan for us at WDW (pick up at MCO and drop off at TPA (which is more expensive than same place) for 21 days for a little over $550. Crazy! And this was at Christmas/New Year's!

Thanks for the tips. I usually do the same. I've already cancelled and rebooked our hotels and car rentals. In December I ended up with a convertible at disneyland! Cheapest car available.

I will use costco from now on.

I see 2 kids just joined the luncheon, anyone with younger kids plan on joining? Don't want to burden anyone with little kids with ants in their pants at what looks like it will be a nice, relaxing lunch :-)

Also, anyone have any recommendations or outside excursion contacts for Cabo? The two excursions we were interested in are booked and I would like to get some other ideas - looking for something relaxing and beach oriented with the kids. Anyone been there before, I hear it might not be wise to explore on our own, any thoughts about that?

Thanks again for everyone's help! This is a great resource for a first time cruiser.

Everyone is welcome to the luncheon. It is simply an area that will be set aside for us in the dining room that is serving lunch that day!

:welcome:

Hi Muushka:cool1:
No, I have not visited the group, but it sounds like I am about to though:dance3:. Thanks for the info, and I saw some folks on here talking about packing for the cruise earlier.:hourglass I know that my DW and I always over pack and I hope that this time we are a little more conservative in the amount of stuff we are bringing - more laundry duty:laundy: than lugging all that luggage :crazy:around again. Hoping to see you at the tastings :drinking1that are being set up as they are a blast pixiedust: and this time we are not doing any excursions, but just getting off the boat in port.:moped: Talk to you as soon as I see a post come up.:firefight

I've included some links for private tours on the web page. Here is the direct link for Cabo Tours. Hope it helps. pixiedust:

We were on a Disney cruise and stopped in Cabo San Lucas when our daughter was just shy of 2yrs old. After we took the tender ride off of the ship, we then asked for a water taxi to take us to a beach. They took us to a nice little stretch of beach where there were lounge chairs for us to sit in and we could order food and beverages at a little restaurant or maybe it was a hotel. We stayed for a couple of hours and it was great. Wherever it was that the water taxi had taken us, the food selections were pretty limited if I remember, but it was just fine--very relaxing. Cheap day too.
