May 2, 2014 - A WONDERous trip through the Locks WBPC

Hey Corinna. I say the interline rate but it was only for either inside or Outside and room assignments at the mercy of DCL but boy what a rate. If it came for balcony rooms I will be changing. Just right now we are dead midship right above the stabilizers. We don't want to give that up.

Does anyone know for the Cabo San Lucas Port Adventure which resort the Cabo Resort Beach Getaway (CL45) goes to? Any feedback or experience with this tour?

A reminder, we are two adults and two toddlers (4&5), so not many options seemingly available at this port and we have never visited here before.

All ideas welcome!

Okay - I found the name of the resort. It is Villa Del Arco. Here is the website: http://www.villagroupresorts.com/resorts/villa-del-arco

I just put a hold on an inside guaranty.

What is the availability like on the shore excursions? I'm interested in the sea lion encounter in Puerto Vallarta.

As of 9:08 Central, that excursion is available. It is 85 for kids and 95 for adults.

Thanks Jeff! We were on the May, 2010 Med cruise with you. That was our first and only DCL to date. I'm taking that as a sign that I should book this cruise.

Which cabins on the 6th floor are right above the stabilizers? That would be great to know.

I just looked up some cabin reports and it looks like ours (mid-ship deck 6, 5B) has a connecting room and it can be quiet noisy from the adjoining cabin neighbors. We may switch. Thanks!

Do both people in the cabin have to be Silver in order to book activities at 90 days? DSis is silver, but cabin mate has never sailed DCL, and DSis can not seem to book excursions.

Thanks.

Great! Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome.

We placed a courtesy hold on an inside cabin as soon as the Interline rates came out. I love my bat caves and I love the single bathroom even more. Unfortunately by the time we made up our mind that we would book by today whatever, the rate for the inside cabin was gone. Yesterday DH found an amazing fare for our flights and booked this. I booked the cruise and when I checked again later, the rate for ocean view was gone as well. I may have got the last one. If they do release interline rates for verandas, I may see if I can upgrade, but for now I am happy to be on the ship and I love the location (deck 2 forward)

No, as long as one person in the cabin is silver, they can book the activity at 90 days out. The problem occurs when reservations for different cabins are linked together and each cabin has a different level.

HI! We're right on the verge of transferring one of our dummy bookings to this date... still trying to decide if we can swing it (but we are switching a reservation with a huge deposit on it that is nonrefundable LOL It was originally a Cat 3 booking) anyway........ just wanted to say hi and ask if we switch to this cruise will we still be able to participate in things such as the FE? Or is it already too late? LMK! :)

No, it is not too late. This is a good group.pirate:

We just reserved last Friday after no thoughts of going until a CM friend of our daughter mentioned it to her. Looks like we reserved just in time for one of the last inside guaranteed cabins.

Appreciate all the feedback from previous posts on hotels in Miami that included shuttle service to the dock. Thank you.

I've been thru most of the pages of posts but don't see much as far as non Disney sponsored shore excursions or things to do on most of the port calls. We did the western 11 years ago with Key West and Cozumel but haven't been to Columbia or the Pacific ports on this trip. Could certainly use some suggestions for these cities.

We've been on the Magic six times with the western once, eastern three times and eastbound TA in 07 and 11 and looking forward to our first visit to the Wonder. Appreciate any feedback from the PC veterans on the port activities.

We have a few more spots left for the Dora tour in Columbia. Info is earlier in these posts. PM me if you want more info.

Hello from another new group member - I booked just today. It's just me this cruise since my brother still thinks my twin nephews are too young to do Disney. I recently re-registered so I could change my username, so may show up as a newbie, but this will be my 5th Disney cruise. Very excited to become "gold" once we dock in San Diego.

I want to do it all - FE (already signed up via the link), candy exchange (will PM), Secret Mickey (still need to sign up for it). I am another pin trader, but tend to just collect a couple of new sets each trip (plus try to finish up past collections).

Thanks for all the posts - Disney cruises are the BEST and I'm really looking forward to meeting everybody! :)

Welcome! You wont need to know your room number to do FE, just put TBD. A lot of us are in the same boat. They are doing groups of 20, the first group is already filled, and the second group i think has 14 or so particpants, if you sign up later she will start you in a new group and if there isnt a ton of people in that one she will add you to one of the other groups :) Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! My family and I are looking forward to it! :)

Never mind, I found my answer.:thumbsup2

Hi!

For now, for the Candy Exchange, no need to PM. The list I have is basically " interest" and will become "official" around the middle of March. I will add your name to the list now, knowing the list may change, if that is OK.

DSis gave me a pin case for my birthday, and I hope to organize it and bring it along on the cruise.:goodvibes. I think I, or someone else, could pick a sea day, and a lounge, and see if there is interest to meet and trade or admire each other's collections!:goodvibes. We did that on the EBTA last year. Does anyone know the name of a smaller sized lounge area on the Wonder that is likely to be free around 10-11 AM?

Since there is some discussion on facebook about passports, I thought I'd mention it here just in case anyone else has been told by DCL that they do not require a passport for this cruise. A PASSPORT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CRUISE!!!

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1139

I'd hate for someone to realize this just weeks before the cruise!!

Also on the passport front. Whether or not you need a passport for this cruse to me means nothing. Having a passport means that if something, and we all hope it doesn't happen but it does, that causes the need to go home early because of something devastating back home, or on the ship, you will have a really hard time flying without that passport. I can't tell you how much I don't understand why people are so adverse to getting a passport. Boggles my mind. As for the person who asked about non DCL excursions. I can't help as I won't do them. Again I like to plan for the worst and hope for the best. If something happens on a non DCL excursion you will get left behind. Period, especially in a time sensitive port like Columbia ( we have to be at the holding area if the canal to get fuel and go by a certain time. Also it can be like this at Cabo. Last year we almost left someone there. So that's why I spend the extra cash for the DCL trip. Piece if mind. Oh they will leave a group as well so it doesn't make a difference. You will get left behind if you are late.
