Displaying your medals

I currently have my medals on two black generic medal holders I got from Amazon. But at the marathon weekend expo I picked up the runDisney medal holder, so I told my husband he has to hang that for me. I'll keep that one for the "special" medals like the marathon and challenges.

We bought DD that rundisney medal holder too. Muahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaa

Disney on this holder and have a second ordered. Disney will fill up a medal rack fast! I debated storing the challenge medals but I really like the majority of them.

I have an alternate medal holder for the non-Disney races.

So far, we have been getting a shadow box from Micheal’s for each race weekend, taping both of our bibs against the back, then hanging one set of our medals. But now wondering how many we will end up having. Now two race weekends behind.

Interesting idea, the race creator embedded magnets into a piece of plywood and painted it as a backdrop to attach the medals as you earned them. Kind of fun display, it was a great time running a virtual race with some other DIS members.

A couple of months ago—yes, really—I got a bent piece of metal in the mail that turned out to be one of the sections I guess I had run. It was so random, after all this time, and the medal looked liked it had been shaped over the barrel of a bat, it was so curved.

These are on the wall of our gym, which is in an unfinished room in our basement. These I sort of face from the treadmill.

I've got a rD rack to hang that will be current year medals rotated in and out.

I keep all my medals on metal works racks. I used to keep the runDisney medals separate from all my other medals and would place them in chronological order. And I have to admit I love to pull them all off and rearrange them, I have issues. The metal works racks (I believe that is the company) work really well and do hold quite a bit. All mine are in our den, which is currently also functioning as storage with the holidays and family having been in town. So apologies for all the mess in the picture.

If it makes you feel better, I still have art from last year's FARTS lying on the floor in my office. I *just* hung the art from two years ago.

You know, I used to try to hang stuff. But I have just done a 2nd paring down. So now I am down to hanging the ones that were “firsts” or PRs or have some other significance to me. I think I took it down to fewer than 20. The rest are stuffed into some Belgian cookie tins from Costco.

We do a combination medal hanger/ shoebox method. When we get home today, the medal rack will be cleared of last year’s medals, which will be put in shoeboxes, and the Goofy medals will go up as the first ones of 2026.
