J and J - That information is very valuable. I will pass it on to my family.
Thank you.

PS: The fellow cruise ships at port was interesting as well.

Hi everyone! Remember me?! Our famliy was booked to sail with you but we had to change our plans due to step-DD's graduation...

all I can say is WOW!

I hope all of you have a Magical time on your vacation!!

Of course I remember you!! I'm sorry you couldn't join us on May 2, but I'm glad you were able to cruise on another day.

Thank you for coming back to say hi and to reassure us. As you can probably imagine we are all in that mode worrying about forgetting something - anxiety and excitement levels are high. And now, we get to contemplate this swine virus; especially whether or not it is safe to visit Cozumel. For me, Cozumel is the only port where we booked an excursion (Dolphin Push/Pull). Either way, we will be happy where-ever/whatever we do.

Great to hear from you again. :)

Hi everyone! Remember me?! Our famliy was booked to sail with you but we had to change our plans due to step-DD's graduation...

We ended up sailing the Magic on the Eastern itinerary on April 11th and I just wanted you guys to know (if you haven't already sailed with Disney) that you are in for an AWESOME trip! I know you will be doing the Western tour, but I'm just talking about the ship, the people, the shows, etc...all I can say is WOW!

Our DD 7 had the best time in the kids club. DH and I got to have both brunch and dinner in Palo. The room was comfortable and I think we all slept better than we have in a long time. The cruise also ended up being timed well for us to surprise DD with it for her birthday but only have to wait a couple weeks to go...she was so excited and had such fun - she says if she had to choose between WDW or a Disney cruise again she would definitely pick the cruise...so now I've got to start saving again!!!

I hope all of you have a Magical time on your vacation!!

Hey there stranger!!! Glad you took the time to fill us in on your trip! As Zerog put it, we are all busy trying to get ready and the anxiety levels are at a "10".

We have dinner booked at Palo but haven't been able to snag a brunch spot, but we will try when we board.

Thanks Again!

Laura-So glad to hear your party was great! You'll have to share some of the highlights on the cruise!!:yay:

MythUSA-Thank you so much for posting the phone number info, I too will need to leave it with the dog sitter and my sister!

ittutorfortravel-Thank you so much for sharing about the ship and your vacation. Glad to hear you had such a great time, and it makes it even more exciting for us!:goodvibes

Itutorfortravel! I am so happy you had a wonderful trip!!

Everyone...keep checking on the PALO! Pixie Dust Pixie Dust Pixie Dust!!

News in Ohio stated a 9 yo boy was diagnosed with the swine flu in Elyria, Ohio. This is near Cleveland; they further commented that his family traveled to Mexico over spring break. Will get on the Cleveland news channel and get more information as to where in Mexico!

Hey Randy! I do understand worrying about the current news on swine flu in Mexico and I hope it doesn't affect your cruise at all. As far as Disney's stance on health, I can only say that I have never disinfected my hands SO many times as I did that week! Every time before you entered a restaurant, every time back on the ship, they were pushing the disinfecting wipes. All that is to say that I feel that DCL will do what is best for its passengers' and crew's health. That will be a bummer if it means you miss Cozumel, but if you get an extra sea day I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. After this cruise I was wishing that Disney did cruises to nowhere, as my favorite part of the cruise were the sea days...they were the most relaxed. Or maybe you will get to have an extra day at Castaway Cay - hold cool would that be?!

If any of you happen to have Satish and / or Zvorst ("Z") as your servers in the dining room or Tabah as your stateroom host, please tell them that Tom, Kimberly, and Morgan from #7632 said hello and that we miss them terribly!!! We've never been so spoiled :)

I am so excited for all of you that you get to go on this wonderful vacation and I am especially excited for those who will be cruising for the first time with Disney...hold on to your hats, you are about to be "wowed"!

Hey Laura! I understand the anxiety of getting ready to go...the final week before we left, my friends were asking me why I didn't look excited. And I probably didn't look the least bit happy about going! But I felt so overwhelmed with all I had to do to get ready that I just couldn't think about the trip and how fun it was going to be. Now that we are back, I can't stop thinking about how much fun it was! We rebooked on board so I guess I can start anticipating that trip now - YEAH!

And regarding Palo, we were only able to get dinner ressies online too but no brunch. I was so bummed b/c I had heard brunch was awesome! We had a sold out ship, so I wasn't real optimistic about getting into Palo for brunch, but I called Palo on our second day and within 15 minutes of my calling they called back with a brunch time for us! So don't give up hope, I'll bet you will get in for brunch too. And it is yummy! Dinner is also awesome. DH had the tenderloin and I had the lobster ravioli...MMMMM! It was also lobster night in the dining room and we were even able to get a side of lobster - talk about heaven!

Above all else, have fun!

Kimberly

After three days of moving, we are finally in the new place! Thank you everyone for your support :). I can't stress how happy I am to be here. I really, really loathed the last place and feel so much more at peace now even after only sleeping here one night. Now I have to try and get this place in order before we go. I have decided I can devote two days to unpacking and organizing, and then two more days to packing for the trip. Luckily I had been setting things aside for the last few weeks that are in two boxes ready to be transferred into suitcases.

One problem, though, is that in one week we'll be in Key West where dh and I are supposed to renew our vows. I bought a dress from a wedding shop, and they haven't called yet to tell me it is in (it was a rush order, seven weeks ago) :scared1:. Yikes! Plus, I am sure it will have to be hemmed and I don't have the proper things to wear under it. And I am still waiting for deliveries of a new camera, Crocs, and the new DCL Passporter. Why do I do this to myself?

Laura, congrats on your party and anniversary! What a wonderful thing for your kids to do for you. :goodvibes

So, I am a total germaphobe as it is. The plane, airports, cruise ship and WDW are crowded enough to have me worried about getting sick, but now I have to worry about my family dying from the swine flu? This is really going to put me over the edge.

IT'S CRUNCH TIME

We must be close to sail date; last nite I had a very vivid dream about the cruise. We were on a bus to Key West and I remember thinking that we were supposed to take the ship. Then I realized that the limo never arrived and I couldn't remember how we got to the port. Somehow, I was back at the cruise terminal and saw some people chatting that looked like folks who posted photo's in this forum. My family went off to do something and a Magical Mayniac sat down to talk with me. I was slightly embarrassed because I didn't know who they were and I had meant to print out the list of MAYniacs. :upsidedow

We are going to be in room 7625.... how was that part of the ship?

Did you visit the deck 7 aft veranda?
If so, did they have lounge chairs out there?

:thanks: in advance for the info.....

I also had a dream that I showed up late for an exam and was naked! Ha Ha! Love those anxiety dreams!!

On a serious note, I am really concerned about this flu situation. I hope that DCL steps forward.....just getting more concerned as each days passes!

We loved being aft on deck 7! Very quiet! And yes, we did visit the "secret" deck. Rarely was there anyone there...DH went out there often to take beautiful sunset pictures. He said one morning when he went out there they were having a yoga class but other than that he (or we) were often the only ones out there. And yes, there are lounge chairs. Plus, you can just scoot up two flights of stairs and you walk right into Topsiders! It was SO convenient for breakfast and to grab a quick snack.

If you have Tabah for your stateroom host please tell him we said hello! You'll love him!

I would attach a picture but it looks like it has to be out on the internet somewhere for me to be able to post it? All my pics are on my HD. :confused3

I am bringing a surge protector so that we have extra outlets to plug in our stuff (Night light, camera battery charger, etc.). I don't know about the lower Cat rooms, but there aren't enough outlets in a Cat 9 and higher.

Also, I need to make copies of our passports.

Hope that helps.

Randy

PS: Laura has this link posted on Page 1, but here is a good packing list:

Not sure what is on the packing list, but a couple things we were glad we brought were:

-a few clothespins to keep the privacy curtain shut
-glow sticks...great for pirate night and good as night lights
-sand art pens...you can get them at Oriental Trading and they were really nice to scoop up just a tiny bit of sand for a souvenirs you could actually use!

Hi Everyone,

I have been away on a retreat since Friday and have not been able to check up on the boards.

Mara is a girl and she will be six on Wednesday for everyone in the FE group. princess:

I made all my FE gifts for the adults and they were misplaced at the retreat. I will have to make new ones this week in addition to getting ready for the cruise. I am a little stressed.

We leave on Friday to drive. Can't wait to meet everyone.:cheer2:
