May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

So, looking out my living room window looking at 6 inches of snow made me think of sitting in Cove Cafe relaxing and sipping on my favorite beverage in the world....coffee:-). So, question for cruise veterans, how is the coffee in Cove Cafe? (Not the Nescafe stuff they serve on deck 9:-)) And does anyone know how much it costs?

We have 25 days to go....I'm really getting antsy....this snow does *not* help!

Michelle

Ours didn't either....I sense the mail people don't care for CPA's....lol

Ours came by FED EX, not in the mail. Actually, they tried to deliver them on Friday but no one was home.

Tonight we have a tiny little bit of snow falling but I don't think it will stay. Just south of us (Buffalo) got quite a bit of snow!

So....tonight I decided to bite the bullet; I stuck my camera under the water and took pictures!:scared1: It didn't leak, worked out pretty well, but I am going to have to read the book and play with it a little more to get the pics I want. Thought I would share a couple:

These were taken in our kitchen sink, now DH really thinks I am crazy. Amazing how all the tiny little bubbles are picked up, I used two different macro settings.

Zerog, what a wonderfully handy website! Thank you so much! :worship:

Our cruise documents came today, but Emilie and the other kids went skiing with DH for 3 days to give me time to study for finals, so
I can't open the packet!!!

It's driving me crazy because I really want to look at all the docs, but it's her cruise so I have to wait.
What's that song? "Anticipation... anticipation is making me wait. It's keeping me wai-ai-ai-ai-ai-iting."
That's me all over.

Hope you aren't disappointed, there really isn't anything exciting in them, that is except for the fact....IT CONFIRMS YOUR CRUISE!!!

Laura! How cute! You would not even want to see the stack of dishes in my sink right now!
*
Jimmy and I love Niagara. When we lived in NE Ohio, we would travel to Niagara on the Lake for our get-a-ways! We have not made the trip from Toledo yet. We have been to the Shaw Festival.
*
We are getting snow here too! The weather is crazy!
*
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE!

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE!

Actually I was born and raised in Niagara-on-the-Lake, lived there til I was married, now we live in St. Catharines which is adjacent to N-O-T-L. I love the Shaw, haven't been in awhile, thanks for the reminder, need to go and buy some tickets  Isn't it funny, we live in this area and take it for granted, never take advantage of all it has to offer.....well...except for the wine:love:

:lmao:

Sorry Michelle, my DW and I still have yet to find that 'perfect coffee' at the Cove. I don't know what it was as we tried various combinations of liqueur. We just didn't enjoy any coffee they made. Having said that, my DW's favorite coffee served by Disney is the Viking Coffee served at Norway in Epcot. :surfweb: If I remember correctly, a specialty coffee at the Cove costs 6 to 8 dollars.

This may actually be a good question to pose to the main board: What is your favorite coffee at the Cove? Maybe it was just us. :upsidedow

I can't wait to check the mailbox today! Don just asked last night if we should get anything soon...I love that he's getting excited to go!
Does anyone know if the special luggage tags will be in this packet?

I about fell on the floor when Zerog said that specialty coffees run about $6-$8! They might scoff if I brought my own expresso machine...:lmao:
Hopefully what they serve is decent!

Well the good news is, it is not snowing in Florida, although it is supposed to get really cold tomorrow - like in the 60s.. brrrrrr :scared1:

Boy, would I gladly take temperatures in the 60s...we woke to a "Spring? Wonderland" this morning. The only white I like to see is white sand NOT snow...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi
The packet comes with luggage tags, similar to what airlines put on your suitcases at the airport. That is, they are long thin stickers that fold in half. Mine are colored lime-green and have names/staterooms printed on them.

Don't get these luggage tags confused with the ones used for debarking (disembark?). On the last nite of the cruise (*** :sad1: uggh.. zer0g shutters at the thought :sad1:***), you will be issued new tags. These are small ovals with a string; a cartoon picture is on one side and blank lines on the other for writing in your information (name, address, suitcase # - 1 of 7, 2 of 7, etc.). It is for these debarking tags that I recommend people print out labels prior to the cruise. Having to write my name/address over and over 7 or 8x is not something I particularly enjoy. Especially on the last nite when there is so much packing to do and a few last minute activities to catch up on.

A reminder for those of you into scrap-booking. Additional debarking luggage tags are freely available at guest services. They are kept in a bin so you can help yourself to as many as you like. I believe there are 8 different Disney cartoon characters. Of course, you will be issued one particular character depending on the location/category of your stateroom.

Just wanted to know for the Fish extenders, how many days do I give out gifts? My family is staying at the Hyatt in the airport in Orlando the night before. Is anyone else staying there? Is there any good restaurants there? I appreciate everyone's help. I can not believe we are almost 100 pages!!

WOOHOO...almost a 100 pages and we are still weeks away from the deadline Zerog gave us....see we can do it!! :rotfl:

The FE are one night/day only for each person. Because we have more than 7 staterooms you will have days where you receive gifts from more than one person.

I am not a coffee drinker. On the Dis podcast Pete the owner of this site says there is no good coffee on the ships. They have have some kind of small coffee presses. They make there own coffee. I do not remember which podcasts it was on. I would also suggest ask the question on the main cruise board. I am sure you will get opinions there.

I asked the question on the main board. Here is the link:

I haven't gotten a lot of responses *yet* but here is what one person had to say:

No help here since we had the same experience. We ordered a coffee expecting something similar to what we get at Starbucks. We couldn't drink it and had to ask for our money back. We haven't been back since but may go there for the desserts on our next cruise.

Laura,

Thanks for answering Fluffycat about the FEs. I was also confused about how many gifts and how to give out the gifts. Is each participating cabin assigned a specific day?

This should get us started on page 100.

Brenda

Does anyone know if there is a photo package I can buy on the cruise? I thought I read somewhere that it was $300 but I am not certain. Hope we make 100 pages today!!!
