Dave-Thanks for the PM, but I don't yet have the required amount of posts to respond via PM. Unfortunately, the web site you gave came up in code. I clicked it, but it put me on a google page about irons:sad2: ! Now I KNOW us newbies aren't being assigned duties, are we?!? :rotfl2:
Seriously, I appreciate the help so could I ask you to try once more? Thank you SO much!pirate:

Thanks! Your great to keep this up!:worship:

Okay all, please forgive me for hogging so much room on the board, but I need to get to post number 10 so I can send PM's. I think this one should be it!:woohoo:
Just to keep it legit, I'll ask one more question...our flight arrives early on Saturday (around 9:00 am), and based on my research it seems like we'll be able to take our Disney transportion to the port around 10 am. What is the absolute EARLIEST you can board, and what can you do till check in time to stay busy?:confused3
Thanks!

The port opens at 10:00 and I think boarding starts around 11:30-12:00 (someone correct me if I am wrong). I depends on what time everyone gets off the ship etc. You will be given a boarding pass with a number on it and when your number is up..........YOU ARE ON!!! :yay:

You're not hogging any space at all. :goodvibes

Flying in on the day of the cruise is risky... If there is any way to change the flight to Friday, I would do so. (Just leave it to me to freak out fellow Mayniacs.. lol.. right Laura!? ;) - just ask her about my seasickness posts). :scared1:

The earliest I have boarded after two cruises is 11:45am. Last cruise, we arrived around 10am and were put in group 2. There isn't really anything THAT exciting to do in the cruise terminal, except 1) look at the model ship, 2) take photo's with characters, 3) set up pagers for Oceaneers Club/Lab, watch Disney cartoons on the TVs, and 5) build excitement/anticipation by watching all the other excited, happy, and anxious cruisers.

If you get on the ship early, you basically have the place to yourself. There are no lines at the buffet and the pools are wide open. Its a great time to acclimate to your new surroundings before all the action begins. Unfortunately, your luggage doesn't arrive until between 1 and 2pm.

I certainly recommend getting to the terminal as early as possible. However, if you are scheduled to arrive in Orlando at 9am, I don't think you will make it to the cruise terminal before 11am - my guess.... Although it is a quick one hour shot straight down the Beachline, it will take time to get all your luggage (I've waited as long as 45 minutes at the Orlando airport), plus loading these onto the bus, plus waiting for other passengers, etc.

Having said all that, assuming everything goes right on time you should be on the ship before 1pm. That is still an excellent achievement. :woohoo:

Amy, our last cruise was our very first and we were the first passengers in the port terminal (probably about 9:30-10:00am) and I don't think we ever sat down or felt "bored" waiting to board. Even though we were the first to check in, we were still assigned to boarding group #2--I'm wondering if there even was a group #1. I was as bouncy as Tigger and took every opportunity to visit with all the characters who showed up, got my picture taken, got autographs, you know the drill. We examined every inch of the model of the ship on display, wandered around taking pictures of just about everything, chatted up all the cast members available, etc, etc!

Once we boarded, there was so much to see that the time just flew. We went up to the buffet for a nice leisurely lunch, tried to learn our way around the ship on just about every deck, marveled at all the decor, found our stateroom, and met up with a bunch of fellow DISers we'd been chatting with on this board.

This time, we won't be so early as Jet Blue doesn't even get us into MCO until 11:05! But, we're using the DCL bus, so they know we're coming and hopefully, they'll hold the boat for us if we're late!!! :rotfl: The nice thing about arriving that late is our cabin should be available almost as soon as we board, so we can drop off our carry-ons immediately and not have to drag everything around with us. Then it will be a quick lunch and the cruise meet at 2:30! I, for one, am sooooo looking forward to meeting everyone!

Beth,
We have to fly out Saturday (logistically this was the only option for us :sad1: trust me, I TRIED to squeeze in an extra day!
I'm not sure what airport your flying out from, but Air Trans has a 7:30 am non stop from Richmond to Orlando. It will arrive around 9:28 am. We are also using Disney Transport from the airport because some wise and experienced soul pointed out they would hold the boat for us if needed. I'm still hoping the flight doesn't have any changes or anything (thanks Zerog!:scared: :rotfl2:
Just wanted to share this info in case it may be of help!:yay:

I've been popping on and off the cruise line threads all day......reading about luggage not making it to ship and worrying about cutting our arrival time too close. So, I bit the bullet and changed our flights--we'll see you at the airport, Amy! Flying out of Dulles, arriving MCO at 9:35am. Just makes me feel a little easier, knowing that should leave us plenty of time to get to the port before the ship sails.

Laura,
I responded to your PM with our order, but haven't heard anything.

Can you verify who you have received orders from by listing them on this thread? That way if for some reason somebody was overlooked, they can speak up before you place the order.

Just my 2 cents......:rolleyes1
