May 19 - 24, 2014 San Diego to Vancouver

Does that help? All three cruises we've been on, I've always fought it a little, but the last one (from Vancouver to LA) had really rough waves, so I had to take something for it. I took what they gave us on the ship. I've been warned that the last days could be similar. Have you ever needed seasick meds? If anyone has any suggestions what to get, I'd rather buy it ahead of time, lol, than struggle down to medical, hahaha!

I have serious motion issues, that is why we always book mid-ship cabins. I am taking with me a small box of Dramamine, two small boxes of Bonine and Meclazine prescirbed by the Dr. Might seem like a little overkill, but I don't always know what will work. Bonine usually does it best for me, and is one pill every 24 hours. I start it before getting on the ship, take it the whole time and continue for a few days after getting off the ship. I have tried the patch behind the ear in the past, but it leaves me with serious dry-mouth.

We started putting the FE gift bags together last night. So exciting! Now, if it would just stop snowing here...

We will be placing a magnetic whiteboard on our door (stateroom 7541) for people to leave notes for each other, particularly if you are part of an FE group and get a room upgrade. Now, after saying that, let's hope we don't get a surprise room change and throw everyone off.

Four weeks to go!!

FE closes tomorrow. If you want to join please send me all the info by midnight tomorrow.

You poor thing! & yet you still cruise!!! Thanks for the info. I'm seeing my Dr. soon, so I'll ask him about these. Only 30 days!!!

Some folks on FB have been reporting that they have received their cruise docs? Mine haven't shown up yet, how about yours?

We received our cruise documents for the follow on Alaska cruise (DVC Points), but not this one. Maybe this week.

Many posters have commented/complained that you can only charge one phone at once, when in fact there are two ways to keep multiple phones charging at the same time.

Method 1: Spare Battery Charging Slot:

Behind the main charging slot you will find another small slot with a thin metal strip on top. If you pull the battery out of the second phone and slide it in that little slot, underneath the metal strip, you will see a light go on and it will start charging. Works great for overnight charging of two phones.

Method 2: Micro-USB port

If you look at the phone and the charger in detail, you'll see that everything is powered by USB power and micro-USB ports. This is the same port type used to charge most non-Apple phones, Kindles, etc. With power strips now outlawed and outlets limited I just brought two of the Anker 5-port USB chargers that others have recommended here (these are handy at home too), along with plenty of cables. So with 10 USB charging ports at our disposal there was no problem keeping wave phones fully charged. If someone wanted to free up an extra outlet, they could charge both phones this way and get rid of the bulky charger altogether.

On a side note, we used the wave phones often since we were traveling with another family, but like others found them a little dated and clumsy to use. But they got the job done. With the Navigator App now available on all the ships and WiFi coverage pretty good, I see no reason why they couldn't just integrate text and talk into the app, which would eliminate the need for wave phones all together.

Hope this is helpful! Sorry I couldn't post links or photos to make it clearer.

We will probably receive our cruise documents a few days before we leave. International post can be a bit slow. Is there anything in the cruise docs you really NEED? We have our online check-in forms, credit cards, and passports - all we really need, right?

Hi everyone, new to all this but not DCL. Going on our 2nd cruise. 1st cruise was in 2011 with my then 11yr old. This time my parents and sister will be going with us. I'm a single mom of an amazing 13yr old.

We received our luggage tags on Saturday!!! Can't wait for May 19!!!

I'm actually (also my kid and sister) born and raised here in San Diego. So as you can imagine...super excited to be able to board the Wonder here.

I have been reading the threads but barely and finally, decided to register. Thank you for all the info :)

No there is not anything there you really need. There are luggage tags, but you can also get those at the Port (at least you can at Port Canaveral). I do hope you get your packet thought. I have been told by DCL in the past that as long as you show up at the Port with the appropriate form of ID, you can get everything else, paperwork wise, there at the port.

I think we are neighbors on the ship - I am in 7542. :goodvibes
