That picture makes my heart melt!! My most recent dog was my baby. B.A.B.Y. Hear that? :listen: Sweet sable sheltie. Hubby had to practically ask my dog for my hand in marriage, but he still asked my daddy, too :) That sweetie passed away when my youngest was two months old, and my oldest still asks for another. We keep saying after this cruise.... :scratchin
I'm sorry for your loss. Our pets really do become a part of the family.

Sorry I haven't been giving you updates on the shirts. Bob has been having some major medical issues that are still not resolved. However, we've paid the cruise in full and are proceeding with the thought we are going. I have sent an e-mail to Becky asking about the final pricing and dates for the shirts. I've also sent her updated images. Will let you all know as soon as I hear back and determine if we have enough interest to order. If there is, I'll post images with the order forms.

I also adjusted the images for a tee shirt. I ordered one from Vista and I was pleased with the results. Here is a copy of the image:

livepreview.aspx

If anyone wants to copy it, I can either help get it moved to Vista for you or you can get it from my Flicker page. Flicker has better resolution then if you copy it from here. I can also edit the image, adding text, or almost anything else. I can talk with Vistaprints about setting up an account for our group, if there is interest, I've done it before.
So glad to hear you're still coming. I'm so sorry, though, that you're dealing with health problems. I hope that they resolve and you're able to happily cruise and enjoy yourselves.

Looks like our cruise plans are currently on hold. My sister is currently going though a nasty and bitter divorce and her kids passports expire in May. Her (almost ex) will not sign the paperwork needed to get the kid's passports renewed. We don't want to cruise without them so as of right now, we will not be cruising. Hopefully a miracle will happen and we will ALL be able to join you but as of right now, it is not looking good. I don't understand how people who were married for ten years and raised two amazing kids could have such hatred for each other. In the end, it is my niece and nephew who will suffer by missing out on this cruise and other trips. My former brother-in-law is European and the kids spend their summers overseas and my sister says if he doesn't sign the paperwork for this trip, she won't sign the passport papers till they are 18, which means they will miss out on seeing their father's family overseas.

I am so sorry!! I feel for you, your sister and your niece and nephew...divorce sucks!! I went through one 15 years ago, it was yucky and no children were involved...I can't imagine going through it now with our girls. Luckily I am blessed with a fantastic husband (for 12 years) and we work hard to make our marriage strong...but man it's not easy!! You sister and family will be in my thoughts...I'm sending lots of positive energy your way!!! pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yay! Thanks so much for doing this!

We are totally in (for the boys), but I had a couple of suggestions:

1) I think four gifts is too much. Not because of the number of gifts, but because of the $ limit. I think it's hard to find four gifts

under $30 (unless one is like a

candy bar or something. We had a $25 limit last cruise and got some really random cheapo things from

our SM. I'd rather get one "good" thing and a couple of little things. JMO. Or raise the limit

I think the more specific we can be, the better we can ensure that the kiddos will be happy.

I'll wait to send a PM until we finalize the info part!

Yeah I agree. I'd rather not be restricted in how many gifts I have to buy. With adults it's so much harder, with children I think you could manage ok.

Ok, I'm not seeing the shirt design that ValBob posted. It's just a blank area. But when I quoted her I saw that there's text there, I just can't see it. Am I the only one? What am I doing wrong :hauntedlaptop:?

Will be thinking of you and praying as cruise comes longer you get positive news.

We are the least of your worries right now.

Oh no hope it all comes good.

Been there with the messy divorce too. Even now some 14 years if issues arise with kids I still get the "but you chose to leave me", yeah I did and how thankful I am that I did !!

Is that your dog?! I demand you book it a place on the cruise!

Lol, yes it's our dog. I was going to get a picture of the car covered in snow but she decided that would make a better picture so jumped outside. She's a good dog. Shelties are a handful though and she is more than a little bossy. She loves the snow and has to go for a roll in it whenever it's fresh or wet.

She'll be staying at her friends house while we're on the cruise having her own vacation.

I understand where you're coming from. We get so attached don't we? Did you ever do sports with yours? Ours loved agility. I'll have to find a picture for you we have somewhere...

We had a sheltie mix, we lost him just this past July. RIP. They really do become one of the family, I still have moments when I tear up thinking about him! DD & I would cry when we would have to leave him with grandma while we went on cruises! They are always so happy to see you when you get home!!!

Yes, yes, yes. Definitely family. The place I took him to Puppy Kindergarten had an agility course, but I was just starting teaching then, poor, and didn't pursue. He was just like bottled energy though. :) I'll have to give you the story onboard on how he and Curt met. I think I am hesitant to get another dog because if I could have cloned that dog, I would have. He has set the bar too high for future dogs I'm afraid.

She's so beautiful. Really cute.

We really want one but it's not fair on the poor thing because we are out for 10 hours a day Mon-Fri. Makes my heart ache because we do want one so much.

My DB's parents got a dog when his mom was pregnant with him. It grew up with him and the photos of him with the dog are so gorgeous. He lived for 11 years, fell ill and they had to put him down because he was in pain. 18 years later they still mention him a lot of the time, he was like another child to them especially because he grew up with DB.

We had an energetic Dalmatian for 14 years. It broke my heart when he passed. It's been a little over two years and it's still hard at times. He was like one of the kids. My youngest is 22 and is back home after graduating from college and she keeps saying she wants a dog but I don't want to go through that again. Plus i always felt bad about being away all day at work. The older DD and SIL have two rescues and we love them. When they come to visit I get my dog fix. They are the grandpups. They live in Rochester NY and love to come visit and play in our acre of fenced yard.

They do become a part of the family. We adopted our Kasey a month before we found out I was expecting DD16. Kasey was our first baby! It's been about 4 years since we lost her and there are still days I walk into the house expecting her to come running.

We are now the parents of 3 cats that we found abandoned on our patio when they were about a week old. Eyes were still closed and we had to bottle feed them. I was just planning to get them healthy and give them to our local no-kill shelter but we grew attached to those 3 little guys. :goodvibes

That's what the DB's parents say. They could never replace Apollo and they still say the same now :)

His mother is due to retire soon so I keep trying to tempt her to come and sit round my house and look after ours - then we could have one :-D

Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It has been a rough couple of months. It has been hard on me so I can’t imagine what it has been like for my sister. My brother in law was my brother for almost half my life and a very close friend and he was the best man at our wedding. And as my husband says, We haven’t even gotten our album yet! I am also very close to his sister and her husband (also in our wedding) and this has put a major strain on our relationship. I am not sure what happened but it is painful to see so much anger between the two of them. I just hope they can learn to be civil to each other for the sake of the kids.
So after another family meeting, the six of us will definitely will be joining you, with the other three up in the air. My Mom has been looking so forward to this and my little sister already told the three year old about the trip, she just couldn’t tell her we weren’t going. At bed time yesterday she asked how many days till we leave to go on the ship with Mickey and then during her prayers, she blessed the cruise ship. Her father has been away at the state police academy for 6 months, so my sister had been promising her this trip. We would love to go as a family but I guess sometimes things aren’t meant to be and I will get to enjoy some alone tine with my nieces. I did just spend 14 days on a cruise with the other two. Still hoping they will join us though!
