Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It has been a rough couple of months. It has been hard on me so I can’t imagine what it has been like for my sister. My brother in law was my brother for almost half my life and a very close friend and he was the best man at our wedding. And as my husband says, We haven’t even gotten our album yet! I am also very close to his sister and her husband (also in our wedding) and this has put a major strain on our relationship. I am not sure what happened but it is painful to see so much anger between the two of them. I just hope they can learn to be civil to each other for the sake of the kids.
So after another family meeting, the six of us will definitely will be joining you, with the other three up in the air. My Mom has been looking so forward to this and my little sister already told the three year old about the trip, she just couldn’t tell her we weren’t going. At bed time yesterday she asked how many days till we leave to go on the ship with Mickey and then during her prayers, she blessed the cruise ship. Her father has been away at the state police academy for 6 months, so my sister had been promising her this trip. We would love to go as a family but I guess sometimes things aren’t meant to be and I will get to enjoy some alone tine with my nieces. I did just spend 14 days on a cruise with the other two. Still hoping they will join us though!

I'm glad you are still coming! And I hope they can work things out amicably for the kids. I have many resources for parenting kids of divorce if you want them.

As long as mine is non-alcoholic, we're golden :thumbsup2

FYI we also had many having a nonalcoholic beverage at the Transatlantic Pub Crawl. And since Mickey owns all the bars onboard, we could buy one drink and just carry it to the next bar with us. I was a one-drink girl but some made a purchase at every bar (which was about every half-hour)

I wonder if none of us could see it but we were all thinking everyone else could :rotfl:

I couldn't see it either, but when Flickr was mentioned I went to the webpage and looked at the Flickr link there. Maybe it is one of these from that link?

I tried looking at dates to see if any were a newer date.

Thank you for the info on the Pub Crawl! It's the type of thing I just figure I can't participate in. Nice to know that others who may not drink also go.

And you are a master detective :worship: You should give lessons :teacher:

DH and I wanted to do the canyoning but thought the $175 was way to steep ( I worked at an adventure camp, I know how much this stuff should cost) I found another company called Harmony in Nature, they are ranked #1 on trip advisor and have great reviews. They offer an beginners canyoning course for 60 euro per person. I have been in contact with the company and they will do a private tour for us to fit the ship's schudule. Everything is included in the cost (including tranfers). They will pick us up at the port at 10:45am, it is 30 min to the site and the tour is 3 hrs to 3.5 hrs long and then it is 30 min back to the ship. I estimate about 5 hours total. I asked how many people they could take in a private tour and they can do up to 7.

I thought I would pass along this info incase anyone else is interested in the tour. We have four spots open. It is the same cost per person regardless of how many people come so it doesn't matter to us if we get to 7, just thought I would share along the savings! Plus you will have me and my sister as a bonus who are both experianced! We are doing beginner due to hubby. And I plan on filming with my GoPro so there will be video.

Happy planning!

What is canyoning? :listen:

What is canyoning? :listen:

Sorry guys, should have explained more. It involves descending mountain canyons with techinal descents using ropes and repelling down towards the stream and usually involves swimming in the streams (you will wear a wet suit) and use climbing gear.

From the website:
[This canyoning is situated in the Central South part of the Island, more precisely in the countryside whereabouts of Camacha where typical Madeiran field terraces, thatched houses and all its rural surroundings can be found. During the descent several species of Madeiran forest can be observed, such as “Lily of the Valley trees” Clethra arbórea, Aiton or Laurus azorica. Along the route, together with all the natural obstacles, four abseilings shall be encountered, the largest of which with 15 meters. The abseilings are alternated with jumps to small natural ponds as well as tobogans.

In order to ensure the maximum safety possible to our customers, this activity is always carried out by two guides certified in Canyoning by the I.P.D.J.

Beginners Canyoning – Madeira Island

.
Activity of 3 hours
Highest abseiling (15 meters)
Min: 2 persons | Max: 15 persons
Price: 60€ (Includes: transfer, insurance, pictures of the tour, individual equipment, water and chocolate, 2 certificated guides).

Should Bring: sneakers, a swimsuit and a towel.]

For more info, Look up Harmony in nature.

Or the disney website port adventure, Madeira Canyoning.

The website says all ages but I would say personally no younger than 12 (I have worked with girls this young and it just depends on the kid)

Thanks for the offer but I doubt my sister would even look at them, she normally makes me read stuff and give her the cliff notes on it....

I am looking forward to some adventure, we normally dive on our cruise but aren't going to this trip(to much gear to lug around) so hopefully this will fill the void. Since we have been married, my DH has gone ziplining, dove and then got certified, rock climbed, parasailing and now canyoning. He says his marriage is gonna kill him, I like to think I'm adding life. He draws the line at sky diving and has made me stop, stupid life insurance.....

How did I miss the mention of a pub crawl?? I tried to get this on the EBPC and no one wanted to do it. I was told that I was the only grad from the number one party school in America and therefore the only one who could do it!.. LAME! I love drinking around the world at Epcot (and yes, my friends make me add an extra shot at each stop to level the playing field) Now I am super excited! Maybe I can get my Mom drunk!
