May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

I saw lanyards for sale on deck four shops onboard in November :) but have clue if that is always the case

Maybe someone else reading this has further insight?

They don't sell the lanyards that they give as CC member because there it says Silver, Gold or Platinum.
They do sell lanyards onboard at the gift shop (they are open the first day at sea) but that are the usual Disney lanyards. I can't recall seeing DCL logo lanyards but that doesn't mean that there aren't because i have always had my DCL CC lanyard...

I definitely should have clarified my early morning typing better :rotfl2:

No, they definitely do not sell the CC or DVC lanyards in the gift shops. Those are received by guests at check-in as they have special colors/words to identify that. However, I do think I recall seeing generic Disney lanyards for sale on deck four shops.

My girls wanted a cute Disney one at the dollar store the other day, so I picked up one for each of them. They also have Disney lanyards for sale online if you wanted to get one ahead of time. Disney Store online also has a Disney Cruise lanyard.

All the booking stuff is so confusing! I don't know how else they could do it, but i do wish it weren't so !

I talked to my travel agency. The agent called DCL and then called me back. He said that since it's a B2B their site isn't really set up to handle it! He said that DCL is indeed flying us home after the Med and that they do have all that info correctly, they just can't load it into the system in such a way that the second leg knows. So they told him to have me choose a different option on the site for check in purposes. I just chose that we have a rental car and are going to a hotel. It asked for the hotel's address and I put our home address in. He said that once I get the flight info from DCL we can input it then. So I'm now officially checked in on the Med! :yay:

I'm excited for this whole trip :woohoo:

You got that right - I can't do anything either (for the Med), and I am not using a TA - so other than being able to book excursions, I can't get our docs - however, I am sure that DCL will take care of all of us B2B'ers in their usual efficient manner......so I am not going to sweat getting anything else but our ressies for the Med, and then let DCL worry about the rest on the morning we get off the boat to get back on - :yay::yay::yay:

oh my, I want so many of those gorgeous items:eek: Will they all be for sale on the ship? I NEEEEEEED (lol!) the scrapbook album and paper/sticker pack, the photo frame, the Mickey and Minnie ornament, the tote bag and small travel pack for starters!

Glad you got it sorted - boy it sounds confusing though! At least you know you are getting home :-D
Exactly! :thumbsup2

Aren't those cute?!? I love their lanyards. But there was that one DCL lanyard that jumped out at me.

Those were just the ones I saw from the Disney Store online. There are probably more out there with Google.

That one is nice - I did have a look on Etsy but wanted an 'official' one.

Right, my alarm is set for 4:30am GMT - gotta get up and secure Palo brunch and dinner!

Night all......Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

What camera does he have again sorry, I know we discussed it before but I can't remember :scratchin

DH has a Nikon D3100.

Oh don't you worry, I am a total kid. On my first cruise (RCI with my two BFFs for our 40th), I tried to enter the belly flop contest (I can grab both my ankles mid-flight for an awesome landing), but they wouldn't let me because it was only for men. :rolleyes2 I'll race you down the slide, though! :thumbsup2

Awesome! I bet she is so stoked to come home. Even after undergrad and internship in CA, there is nowhere like home for us island kids. What kind of work? There is plenty in certain areas, and not so much in others. Hopefully it's tsunamis or marine biology or something haha jk. Oh wait, you mentioned engineering???

August is a beautiful time here. Public schools start around the 1st (year-round schedule), so things won't be so busy and crowded. Hanahau'oli and most private schools start at the end of August. We are going on a trip 8/16 just before school starts. She will know all the great things to do. There are a few "must do"s!

That stinks you couldn't enter the contest, you should have jumped in right after it ended just to show off!

She is super excited to be returning home and I guess if I was from Hawaii, I would be too. Why do people ever leave in the first place? She bought a car this fall and DH and I got her an ice scraper as a gift and she had to ask what it was! Followed by the comment, Oh, Well we don't need them in Hawaii. Then this winter after she made a comment that her washer fluid wasn't working, I had to inform her that it can freeze and you have to use the winter mix of washer fluid, I guess you just don't think of these things if you aren't use to the cold.

Yes, engineering-Civil and environmetal, we are chasing after some buried infrastructure work. Though a co-work is in Hawaii right now doing some soil remediation work on a US base.
DH wants to visit the Dole plantation though my friend says not to, I want to dive and see a volcano, Pearl Harbor will also be on the to do list. If you can think of anything we should add to the list, let me know!

Earlier this month we had lunch at the Aulani, which was nice.

I did it!

Checked in online and secured Palo brunch for the day after Castaway Cay and Palo dinner for the 6th sea day! I know they are quite close but with the pirate night and the second formal night later on that week, I think I've planned it well.

Thanks so much again Binkytell for the help with the Palo times, that was amazing of you!

Also booked the Unforgettable Madeira excursion.

And now Captain Mickey has welcomed me onboard his ship virtually, I am going to switch off my Mickey lamp and try to get an hours sleep before getting up to head out to work.

:)

I never drive in the snow. If DH doesn't drive, we don't go haha. One of my client's got diagnosed with Lyme Disease recently. I was like, "whaaaa?" Obviously I know what it is, but we don't have to actually *deal* with anything like that haha.

I have many "to do"s. 1) Pearl Harbor, for sure; 2) I actually like the pineapple maze but DH says it is a long ways away and it's "less than thrilling"; 3) Which other island? My fave is Kaua'i, but you might want to go to the Big Island for the volcanoes (awesome) and Maui for Haleakala (double awesome); 4) I know nothing about scuba; 5) I think everyone should go to PCC and visit the villages AND see the show; 6) Aulani is meh to me; 7) Laniakea for turtles; 8) surfing at Canoes -- she can teach you; 9) Diamond Head at sunrise; 10) the last ones are alcohol-related haha: Nobu (bar, not restaurant) for Suika Martinis (watermelon -- the best thing I have ever tasted!) and jalapeno yellowtail sashimi, Lewer's Lounge for the old-school affect, and Duke's (every tourist must go there).

I'll think of more later. I have many obscure ones, too. Like hole in the wall places or "local secrets" haha.

And I got a 11:30 check in slot so pretty happy with that :)

Whoop, it looks like a good excursion. I think a few other Dis'ers were talking about signing up to it too.

Okay - I was just facebooking Mary back and forth. YAY!!!!!!!!! Anything we can help answer for you or do, don't hesitate to holler at us. :thumbsup2

BTW - can she just quit her job instead and let your daughter fend for herself? :confused3

You know I'm just kidding. It will be great to cruise with you again! But we do need to find a bartender who can make the perfect painkiller...... ;)

Well that's it booked - cruise and flights - I'm on my own for 2 1/2 weeks :sad1:

Stevie (StephenKay) is officially cruising without me :( I wish I could come too, but I've already got 6 weeks leave booked for this year and its all DCL and WDW :rotfl:

Hope you'll all take care of him !!!

In the process of getting him added to the various activities you have all kindly organised and thank you everyone for the hard work involved being an organiser and running the thread!

Don't talk about painkillers, I am so not happy that WBTA 2014 is not going via Tortola, but I have it on good authority there are bars in St Maarten which sell them :rotfl2:

I'm sure Stevie will pick you brains over the next few weeks :thumbsup2
