~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
Okay, so I must've been way super overly tired last night when I posted because this morning I thought about a handful of things I was going to comment on and must've "slept through them" (yes, I was falling asleep on the couch as I was posting :blush: ), so I'll go back later today and re-read/reply the way I had intended to! :laughing: I've got to get my work done quickly so I can go eat lunch with Hudson at school today! My BFF & I are having a lunch date at school with our kids! :banana: Sheesh, we only spent Friday night and all day Saturday together...you'd think we would be sick of each other by now!! I guess that's what BFF's are for. :hug:
I just wanted to quickly answer this, though:
Do I need watershoes then? Is Castaway Cay quite stoney?
Serenity Bay (which is where I'm sure you'll be spending your CC beach time) is VERY rocky and hard on the tootsies...even in the water. I would DEFINITELY recommend some sort of shoes. I didn't specifically have water shoes, but I have some Keen sandals that are water wearable. I tried without them and didn't get very far before turning back to go get them.
Does anyone know how to get any discounts for the Radisson at the port? I have five people in my family cant find discounts for anything but four. Also is it safe to leave your car for the wk? Crystal,
Sorry - duplicate post.
WOW... that looks sooo good. We are going to HAVE to stop there.
I'm pretty sure that the plan is that we will be driving down to FL Thursday evening & stay at our house there. Then we will drive to the cruise port on Saturday (we WILL be there by 10am, I don't care who I leave behind!) :rotfl:
Then when the ship returns, we will be staying at the house til Monday. There is a pool at the house, but not sure what else we will be getting into. I'm sure that there will be a trip to DTD & we will visit with my mom's BF (a Disney CM).
I guess we will have to put beaches & cream on the to do list!
Be ashamed . . . be very ashamed!
This is me (excuse the terribly over excited face) with my No Way Hose. Its from Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. It is without a doubt to die for!!!!!!!!!! And yes - it is as big as it looks!!!
You should look at my food report one day . . . you will be shocked when you see what I can put away! I'm not joking when I say don't get behind me in the buffet!!!!!!!:rotfl:
They do the best desserts at B&C! :banana: Your children (and you!) willl love it. They do one which is for 4 people to share called "The Kitchen Sink" which comes served in a sink! Its basically all their toppings, icecreams and cakes in one big, happy bowl!!! One day Tony and I are going to attempt it! I think I may have a picture of it, though this doesn't show the size or detail as I took it from across the room . . .
www.allearsnet.com is another Disney site. Its quite good for general info, though doesn't have a nice forum area like this site! Its not got that much info on the cruiseline, but is excellent for hotel and food reviews in the World!
Thanks Val! :thumbsup2 Better get shopping!
Goodmorning everyone....
Arrrrggggg!!!!!! I just checked my email this morning before going to work and I got an email from AirTran Airways that said SCHEDULE CHANGE!!!!!!!
Now, we won't fly out of Orlando on Saturday until 9:00PM:mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
That will put us home at about 2 in the morning:sad2:
I thought I'd share with my DIS friends my 4:30 am frusteration;)
I hope you all have a good start to your work week!!
60 DAYS FROM TODAY WE WILL BE IN PURE DISNEY PARADISE!!!!!!!:cool1: :banana: :dance3: :cheer2:
That stinks, Bella! Maybe you can hit the parks that day, then.
I got an email from American this morning with another flight change. This is the 2nd time they have changed our flight since I booked it :headache:
Now we'll be sitting in Dallas for an extra hour instead of exploring Port Canaveral. Geez.
I didn't even know that they *could* change our flights that way.
Any word on the Shuttle launch?
You all have been busy posting! I have about 50 pages to catch up on now! LOL! Welcome to everyone who has joined since I posted last. Work has been insane lately.
We have booked our excursions:
Key West on our own
GC: Boatswain's Adventure Marine Park
Coz: Dolphin push, pull, swim
CC: Stingray adventure
and we did get our request for Main Seating! YAY!
Do we have a final meet-up planned? (Don't want to miss it as I browse the pages! hee!)
Sara
We are going to go to B&C to get a Kitchen Sink with some of my Dream Job friends after the cruise. I'm SOOOOO excited! I'm sure I'll take 1 spoonful and can't finish the rest. Looks so rich!
As of right now, we have 42 adult requests & 17 youth requests.
Since the min order is 100 of each, we may have to stick to one size. What do you think??
Also, I think like the FE, I'm going to make the bracelet request cut off date
APRIL 1st! So we have time to order and receive them.
I'll let you know when I get the final count what the cost is.
We can still get 2 batches (adult & youth). As is stand now, it would mean that the adult bands would be like about $2.00 each & youth more like $4 or $5 each... Hopefully we can have more people join or just go to having one size for about $1.50 or so... (I can't remember the pricing off the top of my head).
If everyone still wants two sizes, I'll do some research to see if I can find a company with a lower purchase amount but i'm sure the price will be higher.
:cheer2: WELCOME!:cheer2: So great that you will be joining the FE group. It's going to be a fun cruise.
As for the wristbands. If we need to order just 1 size, I'm fine with just getting adults. I'm ok either way.
Ok -- will remark on everyone's posts after dinner but had to put this out there in the chance she is still awake -- SONYA -- I have spent the past 2 hours reading your Gluttony report and still working on it! :surfweb:
All I can say is SIMPLY AMAZING! :worship: :worship: You are right -- I do NOT want to be behind you in the food line because even though I can certainly eat (and I have the nice belly to prove it) ;) I can NOT eat that much!
More on that -- need to go back and finish reading.
:rotfl: Just had to tell you -- if i have to work tonight to make up for this afternoon -- it is YOUR FAULT!!!!!:rotfl:
We LOVE these things and have tried almost everything on the menu through the years. The one thing we learned though was that you really should plan on making your dessert your actual meal here! (If you eat first, you'll spoil the real fun!) The kitchen sink is very good, but I would probably order it only if I had 3 or more people! Once, 6 of my friends and I had it (after a light dinner) and could barely finish it!:)
We were planning on heading straight to the port on Friday, but now you all are making me want to spend the day at DTD (I really want to eat at the T-Rex restaurant.) and Beaches and Cream! I think my plan will be to be at the port IF there is a shuttle launch and otherwise spend the afternoon at DTD/BandC/putputting then head to the Radisson late in the evening. We'll see...shuttle launch (first time for me..."50th or more" time for Adam :rolleyes: us lived at Port Canaveral for 3 years in the Navy) vs Disney stuff...:confused: It will probably be a last minute decision!
I am awake . . . just!! Thank you for your comments . . . what can I say . . . I truly am a piggy!!!!!!!! I used to be quite good until I met Tony, that man led me astray!:rotfl:
You all had better get to Cove Cafe before me, if what I have heard about it is true:rotfl2: I am not going to be able to resist! Is it also true you can make your own ice-cream cookie sandwiches on deck 9?! I love me an icecream cookie sandwich!
Sorry if you have to work tonight, but just think . . . you will still be tucked up in bed when I am at work in the morning :scared1: ! So unfair!!
Oh T-Rex - we are booked to go there. I can't wait to try it! Is the kitchen sink as good as I think it is?!
Yes, but I don't like strawberry icecream mixed with mint chocolate chip, etc. I prefer a "themed" desert like chocolate/brownie, chocolate oreo, chocolate peanut butter, etc....not the just "mix everything you have" thing!
However, it is wonderful!
And yes, Adam and I can eat! I haven't read your whole report, but we like food. Adam can almost finish a large pizza alone (yes...he's the thin one) and downed all but 2 cookies in the Girl Scout cookie box yesterday! (This is normal for him...I get 2 cookies and he finishes the box!) Unfortunately, my size and figure clearly demonstrate my love for food! I definitely should care more, but I figure I can't be good at everything! (And diet/exercise aren't my fortes!)
Like I said, I REALLY miss Disney and would LOVE to spend Friday there. But, I'd REALLY like to see a shuttle launch as well. (Up until July 2007, we went to WDW monthly for the weekend. During that time, we pretty much ate everywhere and tried everything Disney offerred. I miss it tremendously!)
I don't have any clue as to when our next vacation will be, but I'm thinking WDW!
BTW While typing this, I asked Adam whether he preferred the shuttle launch or day at Disney and he IMMEDIATELY voted Disney...so we may be at WDW Friday and just head to the hotel late that night!
