May 14, 2012 - Va-moose-ing to Vancouver!

We flew in early and have been at Disneyland these past two days. It's super hot during the day and then pretty darn cold at night. My feet are already sore. Good thing we're taking a break and renting a car to drive around LA the next few days. :moped:

Very jealous! I've never been to disneyland but really want to see world of color!!

This is our 2nd cruise on the Wonder. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to try and get the same servers we had on our last cruise? Their names were Jamie from Spain and Maneer from Brazil. Thank you in advance:)

I read somewhere that once you get on the ship you can either go to Guest Services or where they handle dining reservation changes. I believe it's in Sessions/Cadillac lounge. They will do their best to accommodate your request but can't guarantee it.

The hastle of traveling is why we take long vacations! First, drive 2.5 hours to the airport (usually done the night before and we stay with my parents) then fly wherever, which is usually several hours when you include layovers...

From the time we leave our home to the time we arrive in Long Beach it's going to be 30 hours for us. We take the ferry and bus to Vancouver. Then bus down to Bellingham where we're staying the night in a hotel (it's cheaper to fly from the U.S. than Canada for us). Then fly out bright and early to Long Beach (with a 6 hour layover in Seattle - no wonder the airfare was so cheap!). Phew, I'm tired just thinking about it.

Welcome to California! You arrive just in time for our nice weather - it should be hotter this weekend though so drink lots of water! enjoy your sightseeing!

I would call DCL or have your TA if you have one and request them. Request the one that you really want - chances are that they are not working together any longer (they move them around). Then upon getting on the ship - go to where there are doing the dining requests and confirm that you were able to get one or the other. They will do their best - we have requested our asst. server as our server was transferred to the Fantasy.

Good luck and lots of pixie dust!

Safe travels to those of you heading out in the next few days! We are expecting weather in the 80's for the next several days.

I am getting so excited! These cruises has been on my bucket list for years!

Hope to see a lot of you Saturday at 5:30ish at the Disneyland Hotel - Trader Sams and/or the Promenade Lounge at 3PM on Monday!

Thank you to OneKindMan for keeping up on the FE list- I really appreciate the help! :cool1:

Just wondered - can we still get the cocktail glasses where you get larger cocktails on the cruise?

I leave in 2 days! I was hoping to join in at a trader Joe's on Saturday, but my sister may be joining me for the day so I'm not sure what we will end up doing.

Is there a plan to do a meet onboard on Monday? I see a previous post mentioned 3:00 in the Promanade Lounge. I've been working a lot lately an haven't kept up with this thread.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

We are heading to Anaheim tomorrow! We won't be able to get to the Dismeet on the 12th as we have reservations at Goofy's Kitchen for 5:30, but hoping to see everyone in the Promenade lounge on the 14th.

You are most welcome. If I get the cabin put away before 3, the guys and I will see everyone at the Promenade lounge on Monday. Rembember also, that if your room changes, please update the list posted outside my door (6516) so that you will not be missed on the FE distribution runs.

Just wondered - can we still get the cocktail glasses where you get larger cocktails on the cruise?

I have not seen larger cocktail glasses that can be refilled sold on any of the last 5 cruises, however they still do have the 22oz beer mugs for sale that they refill at the price of a 16oz beer. Nice addition is that they can give you a Beer Mug Token so you don't have to lug the mug around with you from bar to bar. I am bringing my mug from last year.:drinking1as a proper LBB member should!

Looking forward to meet everyone at Disneyland on Saturday and the rest of the later travelers on Monday on the cruise. Can't wait for Monday!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hope you all have safe trips to the port!

We are traveling down to Heathrow airport tomorrow and flying on Sunday so I don't know if I'll be on here again until we depart.

See you all at the meet :)

Got confirmation from the TA about the nightly attire:

Night #2 Tuesday at Sea is Formal Night
Night #5 Friday at Sea is Pirate Night
Night #6 Saturday Victoria is Semi-Formal Night

We were told that formal night will be "coat and tie for the men" and on semi-formal night the coat and tie will be optional.

So, crazy thing happened on our drive to Los Angeles from Northern California yesterday ..... a little fender bender on the I-5. We are all okay.... the driver of the other car (who hit us) is okay... if you were part of the horrible traffic jam as a result, we are sorry! I just wanted to reach out to let you all know it's why we didn't make it to the meet. We're still going on the cruise, but we are very sore, and I have a broke elbow with no cast so if we seem a little dazed and confused, and clinging to each other with pure gratitude, please oh please don't take it personal. We really thought we'd have to cancel the cruise but we're going to go, relax and have some good ol' fashioned Disney fun! Can't wait to meet everyone!

On board, looking forward to seeing everyone at 3pm.

My mother and sister are on the cruise leaving right after you all, so I took some screenshots of the ship arriving in Vancouver today from the NorthVancouver.com webcam. I thought you might want to see them. Sorry, they are so low-res, but I wasn't expecting to see it coming in when I checked the website this morning.

Enjoy...

Great cruise even with very cool weather in SF and rains in Vancouver. Time to start planning for the next one.

We are booked for the return of the wonder back to LA in September and I was wondering if anyone on the trip north to Vancouver has any tips or a cruise review that they would be willing to share with us. We are planning on surprising our girls with this trip a few days before we go and I am open to ideas on how to do that(I have Some). But mostly I am interested on Sea conditions and things we should be aware of as first time dis cruisers.
