May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call… 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

I agree...what better distraction to some pain then the happiest cruise on earth!
I can't believe how quickly it is approaching now. I have a ton of running around to do this week to prepare. How is it going for everyone else?

I think we need a new checklist from all of the experienced WDW vacationers and cruisers!
Michelle

I know we have just over a week and we are leaving. We will be gone one week from Wed. so after that you will not see any more posts from until we get back. I must say we have not got our Doc's yet. They say we should have them on Monday I hope so.

No Docs for us either.....! Today I am trying to decide whether or not I should bring the small stroller for my son...He is 3.5 years old. Seems old, but at the airport it is easier to keep track of him. But then it is one more piece of equipment that I have to have.

We are bring a stroller. My son is also about 3.5 and I just think it will be easier to walk thru the airport and also I might use it on the boat going to the pool. Then again I might not who knows. But my thinking was better safe than sorry.

Yep I am trying to decide if it will be worth it to bring a small stroller. I also have a 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 yr old so it might be worht it. I mean there is bound to always be one of them that would feel like riding.
I want a stroller that fold down to the size of a small wallet and can be flipped open with one had, has sun protection and is very light...hmmm ya think it's out there????

And with enough room for all our shopping bags!!! I think I will bring one. It might stay stored on the ship for at least I will have it for the airport. My son is so slowwww, that it will at least speed things up. Are you guys taking a car seat. Luke is almost 40 pounds. The Faa recommends a car seat for less then that. This is the first time that I haven't bought one on the flight. I am guilting myself out because in reality...I just dont want to luge that around either. I shouldn't complain...we don't have a diaper bag any more or bottles!!

Is everyone still planning on meeting on the ship? I will try my hardest to be there!!!! It seems like we have many 3-5 years olds too.

No we are taking our boaster seats as a carry on. (with no backs) just so we can store them above. We have rented a car for Disney. and that is our reason behind it. We are not taking it to use on the plane. Because we have to use the ones with the harrness. I might change my mind and bring one. We will see. I have to make my mind up soon because then I have to pack reinstall the harness on it.I guess we will see.

I am kinda in the same boat. I don't really have to but it just seems safer to me. I am a military pilot and I always fly with a 5 point harness....so I am trying to figure out if I am just a paranoid mom or a practical pilot...

I am bringing a stroller for my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. She usually asks to be carried so it's much easier to push her around. We did get our documents on Saturday.. and as far as a carseat on the flight... no... we are not taking anything. I had no idea it was even recommended.

Dining Plan at WDW, yep that is me...ask away!!

Stroller- we bought a new Combi lightweight stroller for Dylan to ride in during the trip. Well ride in as much as we can keep him in it, he is part speed racer when he is not strapped down!! :lmao:

car seat/booster seat- we always find it easy to check them is as a piece of luggage. they just put it in a plastic bag with a tag on it and we get it off the belt with everything else at baggage claim. No use dragging it thru the airport if you are not going to use it on the plane.

Skyw- sorry to hear you are going to have to go back again to get all fixed up. Hopefully the stuff the doc gives you for the trip with make it all the more magical! :rotfl2:

Scottie,
Is it sold per person? Are there seperate prices for adults and kids? Are the restaraunt choices good. I really have no clue as to how it works so any info would help get me started.

Michelle

Okay Is it too late to add the dining to our stay at the hotel portion? I have been unable to find prices on what it costs. I have only seen info on if you bbok it with hotel etc. Maybe I will need to call tomorrow.
Michelle

i can answer some of the questions , you have to include everone on your resevations. it is based on per night and there is a different price for adults and children. the children have to order off the kids menu if one is avaiable. i find it is a great deal, you don't have to worry about saving money for food when you budget, and you can order the most expensive thing on the menu or the cheapest, whatever you like, also they include 18% tip on it as well so even that is covered. when i used it last year we shared alot of the cs meals so it lasted even longer.

I believe the Dining Plan runs $38.99 per adult per day and $11.99 per kid under 10 yrs. I booked the plan via DVC so it can be added before arrival to a room reservation only. Outside of that, I think you need to add it to your vacation package with Disney. Worth a phone call to WDW Reservations if you think you will use it! I imagine they have restrictions about when can add it etc.
I pulled up the menus for the restaurants we booked and found that we will likely spend at least the same as the cost of the plan per person for dinner alone when you factor in the whole meal. The plan also throws in a counter service meal each day and a snack. I was shocked by the number of restaurants that are on the plan. That was one of the big reasons we decided to try it.

Here is a link to info about the plan.

Just got the mail today....no docs yet!!!Bummer.

I am jealous of all of you that are going to WDW too!!!! We had such a nice time there with our son and all of the previous times. My DH and I can't wait to go again. I have yet to ride the new roller coaster at AK.

That is one ride I am going on too. We are planning on taking turns for some of them. Since the kids are too little. We are thinking during down time for them.

I am so ready This is my LAST WEEk at home. I just told Zachary that he only has 3 more days of school before we go.

I should have my Doc's today. SKYW you can call DCL and get the tracking number for UPS. They do not do 3 day on Saturdays. So maybe today. But I think I would get my tracking number.
My Doc's will be here in the next hour !!!!:cool1:  :woohoo:
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
We can not check our car seats because Disney is getting our bags and taking them to the hotel and we are having the bus take us right to rental car. So we will need them before we get to our suitecase. Hugh....Traveling with kids it is so much easier with out all their extra stuff. But we love them the same:love: .

I got my Doc's they just got here from the very nice UPS plan. :cool1: :cool1:

Now is all feels REAL.:woohoo: :woohoo:

I think I am one of the last ones to get mine but they made it here in time. So we are off to Disney now in 9 days. :cheer2: :moped:

Ok real quick question on the Island of Bahammas form what do you put for Intended stay (nights) and type of accommodations or do you just not fill that part it is in section 2. Also it asks where we boarded our ship city. That would just be Port Canveral Right?Just want to make sure I am going to do this right.:dance3:
