We watched it over the weekend and it got my dd soooooo excited! She says that she plans to stay in the kids club from 7am til midnight! Ha Ha!!!

We've watched the planning dvd (this year's and last year's), the planning video tape and the travel channel segment on DCL several times. We received the latest dvd, which was slightly different than the one we got last year, a few weeks ago. While watching it, the kids went on and on about how much fun they had on our last cruise and how they wish they could cruise sooner than next year. My DS5 says he loved the "school" on board the best...even after only spending an hour or two a day in it. My DS8 said next time he wants to stay in the lab the whole time. He loved the Mickey slide, but said he liked the Oceaneer's Club the best. I'm really looking forward to getting to do some of the family activities and other events they have on sea days. When we were on the 4 day, we were off the ship as much as on it and spent our one sea day at the pools. Anyone know where to check to see what the latest movies are on board? We are purposely skipping some of the most recent Disney releases in anticipation of being able to see a couple on board. It was great getting nachos, drinks and some other snacks and heading to the theater last time. I think we may even let the kids stay in the club/lab in the evening after the shows this time so we can go to a couple of the adult comedians, clubs, etc.

I'm also really looking forward to Castaway Cay and trying out parasailing for the first time. My DS8 and I are going tandem. My DH and DS8 are going to do the banana boats. I'm looking forward to the Anguilla dolphin excursion, the snorkel/beach day in St. John, trying Palo, seeing Twice Charmed, to the entire trip really....

I just want to be in the sun more than anything. We had some flurries last night and woke up to frost all over the ground!

Hanover, I sure hear you about wanting to be in the sun! We woke up to snow on the ground this morning. Glad to say it has melted by now and is supposed to warm up a bit by the weekend. We have so many dreary, cloudy days here it can really get depressing. Bring on the sun! :sunny:

Yes, :sunny: sun, warmth and relaxation, that's what I'm looking forward to as well. We had a couple of sn*wburst here today as well, enough already.

It snowed here this morning something FIERCE!!!! And it was cold !!! :cold:
I was driving to the hospital in white out conditions this am.
When I got home, the snow was all gone---and good riddance too!! :p

Thanks for the tip about the kiosk Andy. I've been thinking about you and your family. How are you doing?

Andy - Haven't been able to get on line for a while; so I just read about your step-dad. Lots of prayers going out for you and your family.

Hi everyone.... :wave2:

Andy, sorry to hear of your loss, prayers from the West Coast are heading your way.

It's been raining quite a bit out here, mudslides, flooding and cold weather. But nothing like what most of you have. I think I have last years DCL video, we watch it all the time! The family is getting excited as the days pass! My kids made their "count down chain" and it is working very well. :yay:

Does anyone know of a DCL store in Orlando? Or where I might be able to find some generic stuff (beach towels, frames....)

Michael

I just want to be on the MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In warm sunny weather....Right Dr. Cavin ....sunny clear skies

Thanks again everyone, my family is doing pretty good, it's just that I am a wreck, I have the job of planning the funeral for Saturday. I didn't realize how hard it was planning a funeral program, I will be so relieved when it is over. I am soooooo looking forward to getting on that ship May 13th, it is going to be a week of "relaxation" for me!!!!!

Andy,
I can't begin to imagine the heartache you and your family are going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Anyone get an upgrade yet?

I've been checking daily but no such luck for us.

Has anyone received quotes for future cruises since April 1st? I'm wondering if they've gone up significantly now that Disney has put constraints on the number of rooms travel agencies can reserve per sailing.

We went to Disney On Ice Jungle Adventures last night in Hershey and it got us even more in the mood to go to WDW and the cruise next month. I think we decided to go to AK the morning of 5/11 and then hop to Epcot after going on Everest, the Kilimanjaro safari and the Festival of the Lion King show. We are doing Chef Mickey's for dinner. It's our least favorite character meal food wise, but where our DS8 wants to go for a birthday dinner while at WDW. We are going to do MK on 5/12 and Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. On 5/20 we are going to MGM with Sci Fi for lunch and 50's Prime Time for dinner. Our DS5 is really into Star Wars (without having seen the movies) and they will be starting thier Star Wars weekends at that time.

Hi everyone,

It's still cold here, but the snow is gone.

TSirgey, how old is your DD? I would love it if our DD said she would stay in the Oceaneer Club all day. She wants to stay on the Mickey slide all day. :rotfl2: Maybe they can meet on 5/13 and Christina will decide to go to the club afterall.

36 days from today and we'll be in Florida :sunny:

My family will be on this cruise to. We have an 8 year old daughter. This will be our 6th Disney Magic cruise. We book a long time ago while on board in Jan 06. We are arriving on May 10th and plan on staying a few days at Sea World prior to the cruise since admission is free for our family.

Luckily my school district has a liberal policy about taking students our of school for a family vacation.

Welcome Phyllisi!

Gosh, it's cold here today! 5 more weeks, 5 more weeks, 5 more weeks... :sail:

Yes it is cold, but we are playing baseball!!!!! GO TRIBE!!!!!

It has been a long week for me and doesnt look to be much shorter next week. We moved one of our warehouses to a new building. Physically only about 8 miles from the old one, but my as well been 800 miles away. When you don't have product to ship, really doesnt matter how close it is. Just glad I wasn't the one who made the decision they were ready. I will definitely be ready for a vacation !!!!!

Will have to play catch-up with email & dis-board this weekend...

I think I can begin to relax a little now and start thinking more about the cruise. My family and I are soooooooooooooooo looking forward to getting on the Magic in 5 weeks!!! The past few days have been so stressful, with delayed filghts last night, to rain, wind and dropping temps this morning, to food that was ordered for the luncheon today after my step-dad's funeral that never arrived, and the Army Honor Guard that went missing in action. But when all was said and done, we made it through the day, and I guess that's all that matters!!!

Everyone, except my mom left my house within the past hour, we are just going to take it easy the rest of the evening and catch our breath.

Start thinking about sunny :sunny: skies and temps in the 80's!!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Yep, just 5 more weeks and this will be us!!!

Let's hope the snow and cold weather ends TODAY ! It had been snowing and sleeting all morning here :cold:

Andy, I hope that everything as good as it can be for you and your family at this point.

Phillisi, Welcome to our group!

The weather has been awful here too. It's rained on and off the last 2 days. We went to an O's game last night and the rain was coming down sideways half the game. Let's hope that's why the Red Sox had them 11-0 at one time.
Lucky us were invited to sit in box seats so we didn't have to sit out in the cold rain. The amount of trash that blew down on the field was unbelievable. I've been to numerous games and have never seen it so bad. Brian Roberts even had to pop some stray balloons blowing around near him on the field.

My parents are in Clearwater, Florida and bragging about being at the beach and in shorts. Must be nice. They went to the MVA or DMV or whatever they call the place they get driver's licenses in Florida to obtain their identification cards. They were $25 a piece...well worth saving $1400 as Florida residents for the cruise. They said they didn't even have to show proof of residency though they brought their electric bill, insurance information, etc. You can get one as a renter with a lease too....maybe I'll start paying them $1 monthly so I can be eligible !?!

My husband's 94- year -old grandmother is in the hospital with a broken pelvis and pneumonia so we will be traveling up to Pittsburgh to visit her later this week. Her doctor's have told us so many times over the last several years to "visit now" we just don't know what to expect.

My pile of cruise "stuff" to pack is growing bigger in the bottom of my closet each week. I've bought a bottle of spray on sun screen for each day of the trip. It's super easy and convenient to use, but goes fast. Still need to get my over the door shoe holder and some water proof cameras.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Early Good Morning to Y'all,

I crashed in bed about 9pm last evening and woke up about 3:15am this morning after having my first pre-cruise dream about our May 13th cruise. What was funny about it was, there were other of my family members on the cruise that weren't supposed to be there, several people from my church were also on the cruise, and when we were heading back to port, the captain announced we wouldn't be docking until midnight and was told to go enjoy one more dinner onboard, and my reply to that was, "I'm so glad we didn't book the May 20th cruise." LOL!!! :rotfl:
