Hi Fran,

My DW brought our summer clothes into the living room the other day, next it will be us going through them and seeing what we want to pack for the trip.

Well, I must be the most boring person on the DIS. I don't do door signs, I don't do special shirts, I don't do special cruise shopping, I don't do formal or semi formal nights, I don't book excursions, I don't even pack until the night before we leave. But...

I always do DIS Meets! :disrocks: Can't wait to meet all of you! :jumping1:

ragdoll, it is the first time for us doing shirts & signs but is our 2nd DCL cruise and our 5th overall.

We are travelling with friends and thought it would be fun to do the little extras for not only the kids but for the moms! The dads seem to not be too interested although one of our dads has helped edit a couple of name DISigns for our shirts which is great!

I am still planning my shirt if I even do one but the door signs I am definitely doing!

Hanover, it is killing me, I want to tell the kids so bad, are you also busting at the seams?

Each person in your party will get a booklet that contains personal info on each guest, the sailing itinerary, transfer info if you purchased, some info on what docs you need to board, and some legal verbage that if you read it will probably make you think twice about sailing ;) basically says DCL isn't responsible for anything, including the ship sinking... :

It will also have a Bahama's immigration form, that is for CC, the CM's can help you with filling it out when you get to the terminal. I think it has some other marketing type stuff as well.

Just keep telling yourself that sleep is over-rate, eventually you may believe it.... :thumbsup2

Our mantra when DD was born and we were both sleep deprived was "sleep is for the weak, sleep is for the weak.."

DD is at my brother's house for a sleepover, so I get to sleep late tomorrow! :cloud9:

Hey--we're cruising next month!!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Remember the old Calgon commercial, "Calgon, take me away?" :goodvibes

Well, I'm changing it to, "Disney Magic, take me away!!!" :thumbsup2

Who knows, maybe I'll stay behind in St. Thomas, wouldn't that be nice!!! :teeth:

Oh yeah.

We are having to be extra careful when we talk about going to WDW for DS8's birthday. We have specifically avoided telling a lot of people about the cruise portion of the trip since we did not want one of our friend's kids telling our sons, etc. We've already had a couple people ask if we've gone on our cruise yet but luckily the kids didn't catch on or weren't really listening. They think we are going over to Cape Canaveral and the beach on 5/13 and just going to stop by the port to see if we can see the Magic since "we'll be cruising on it next year." They are going to be so happy once they find out we are actually going this year. I tear up just thinking about their reaction and smiling faces.

I've been weeding through the best cruise tips thread and pulling out useful information of things to bring along or do on board.

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for my family over the next few days. My (step)dad passed away Monday evening and my mom and youngest brother Pete won't be able to get back home until Friday, which leaves my brother Chuck and I in charge of making all the final arrangements. I was up until 3am this morning working on the obituary as we have a 2pm appointment today with funeral director. For those who didn't know, my dad suffered a heart attack late last week, and quickly went downhill from there.

Oh Andy, I am so sorry. My deepest condolences to you and your lovely family.

Donna

Andy, what sad news to have to share with your friends here on the DIS. Sending prayers to you and your family.

Be Well and God Bless,

Carolyn

It just occured to me that I will not be able to print our return flight boarding passes until 24 hrs before the flight, when we will still be on the cruise. I don't mind paying to go online on the ship to do this, but don't know if I can print in the computer center. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

Yes, there is a printer at the Internet Cafe on deck 3. On our last cruise, I did check in for our flight home while on the ship, but the printer was broke at the time. When I got to the airport I just used one of the kiosk machines and printed off my boarding pass there. As long as the printer is working on the ship, it only cost .25 cents for each page you print.

Verandah Man, our thoughts are with you. So sorry to hear about your loss.

Hanover: I can't believe you are keeping the cruise a secret! That sure takes serious willpower! I could never do it!
