Verandah Man - so glad to have you on our cruise! What a nice surprise for your mother. It's great that everything is just falling into place for you.

Most everything we can do has been done. Waiting patiently for docs to arrive. Yeah, sure - patiently!

Peter & Jenn

Oh just wanted to let you know May 13th is my birthday !! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Everyone have a Great Cruise.. :smooth:

Don't be too happy for Hazel and Angelina as they won't be making this cruise, although a week without me around the house, they might really enjoy that!!! LOL!!! :rotfl2: (Edited to add, Hazel and Angelina will be on this cruise afterall!!!) :thumbsup2

I just received an e-mail from my niece Teri, she contacted the Radisson this morning and added my mom and I to the 10:30 shuttle with her ever growing group of cruisers!!! What started out as a group of 8 is now 15. :rotfl:

OK, I dropped my DD off at the high school for play practice, now I've got to get busy and get some postcards ready for mailing. Talk to y'all later, and thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!! :thumbsup2

Just got us booked for the Radisson for Friday night, had to take a room with the Sleep Number beds. I've been wanting to try one of these beds, now I've got my chance!!!

Whew, what a day!!!

DH and I have a sleep number bed. We love it! :cloud9: DH is 95, and I am 35. The highest it goes is 100.

62 days :woohoo:

It sounds like we are going to have quite a party on board party:

What a great surprise for your mom and more importantly a surprise for me! I have posted on these boards for 3 years and have always found your pictures and info so great!

As you can see in case you didn't get the vibe :goodvibes you are an icon on the DIS

Hope to get to meet you and your mom on the cruise!

Hygeine 99 - you aren't sailing with us are you? I know you from Dr. M's office! Let me know if you are so we can connect

As for pirate night, there are some great costumes on EBAY! I am hoping to purchase this week

I started a new job so I haven't been on in a while. We are booked for the Radisson on the 12th too. DH, DD (5) and myself. We were thinking about Grills because we heard it is great.

The temp is summerlike in Pennsylvania today and it has me thinking about the cruise more and more. I can't believe how close it is!

Does anyone have girls in the 4-7 age range? My dd is hoping to have some girls to play with. She is in a class with mostly boys and looking forward to making some buddies.

I'm across the river in South Jersey, I'm sitting here in my living room with the windows open and listening to my Disney "Beauty and the Beat" steel drum CD, it sure is helping me to get in the mood for the Caribbean this May, like I need anything to get me in the mood to sail on the Magic!!! :goodvibes

TSirgey: We are close, our DD is 8, DS 6...

I created an Excel spreadsheet with the info I gathered from everyones posts. It is on the Yahoo site in my signiture. If your not on the list *sorry* I will add you if you drop me a PM or email. I think you *should* be able to make changes to it & post it back on the site. If not I can make any adds/mods to it. If you cant get to the Yahoo site, let me know & I will email it to you.. Bxirishrn you should have your copy via email already :)

After 10 days at WDW, you "will" be ready for the cruise!!! The relaxtion part is one of the major reasons we enjoy cruising now, that, and the family Disney atmosphere!!! :goodvibes

In 2 months and 2 days, this will be us sailing away!!!

Hi Tara,
We are neighbors. Great we have to hook up. My kids talk about it everyday. I'm sure their teachers can't wait for them to get it over with.
Old Bridge is huge. I'm right off Rt 9 by Gordons Corner. My Dr. is in Old Bridge.
Counting down the Days!!!!! It's going to be 70 degrees here tomorrow
Can you believe it. I'm ready for SPRING!!!!

Our DD is 7 princess: I know I wrote a few times that she is 8...not yet...tho sometimes she makes me feel older than I am !!!

Has anyone found that re-booking onboard for the discount and on board credit is definitely worthwhile compared to other travel agency quotes? We are trying to figure out if we should go ahead and book onboard for another cruise around December 2007 or just wait. Is there any downside to booking onboard and transferring to a TA?

Hanover, You can always book now & then when on board compare the two. You can always cancel the first one if it is not a better deal. Downside to that is you will have two deposits sitting out there until you get refunded. I think you get 10% off & $200 on-board credit for booking a 7+ day.

Keep in mind you *can* just put a deposit down for just one person I believe, but dont wait too long to add kids because those spots fill quicker than adults. keeps the credit card from going nuts, get your bill the month after cruise & its like $5K  OH yea we booked another cruise, shutters pictures, excursions, bar-tab on ship, suveniors... DANG it adds up fast ;)

Waiting is never a good idea when trying to book a dcl cruise, price just keeps going up&up. I just priced our cruise & DCL wants $8375.80 for cat 6, least expensive was a cat 11 @ $6715.80, the cat 6 is $4K MORE than we paid, almost double.. Can go to a cat 4 for only $300 more than the cat 6.

I wonder how many people book this late at full price??? The FL rates are pretty good cat 6 $3694 cat 11 $2794 (4 guests)...

The full DCL price for a cat. 9 as of today for the May 13th cruise is 3898.90 for two adults, luckily I was able to get the Florida Resident Rate and am getting the same cat. 9 for two adults for 1964.00, if it wasn't for the Florida Resident Rate there is no way I could afford the pay the full fare this late in the game.

I took my DD out to dinner last evening since my DW is away for the weekend. I asked her if she would be interested in going on this cruise and not having her Sweet 16 Birthday Party, but she said no, she wanted the party. She then said to me, "Dad, I will only be 16 once, and I've already been on two cruises, I would rather have my party." I said OK and dropped the subject. Now, I can go on the cruise, feeling better, knowing I gave her this option.

Hello new friends!!!

DH is balking at bringing a suit on the cruise. I am telling him it will be the opportunity for a nice family photo on formal night, but he isn't biting.

What is the difference in dress between formal night and semiformal night? What is the REAL dress code for semiformal night (meaning what can he get away with for semiformal, provided I have to bargain with him to get him to pack a suit???) Does DH have to wear a jacket for semiformal? Does he need one for Palo (provided we even get INTO Palo)?

Thanks
Kathleen

In my three DCL cruises I have only taken a sport coat to wear for both formal night and semi-formal night. I have seen men wearing a tux on both nights, but I saw more men in either suits, or slacks, shirt, tie and a sport coat like myself. I've only done brunch at Palo, and it is much more casual wear for brunch, but I think at least a sport coat is required for dinner at Palo.
