Good Morning!

Pool meet - From what I can remember :teeth: from my last cruise, Carnival did not open the pool until after we left port. Does DCL open the pool before we leave?

Our boys were in the pool as soon as we ate lunch last year (around 1:30) on the Wonder and I'm sure the Magic is the same. We had them wear their swim suits and brought them a change of clothes. They loved being able to swim right away, and it was the least crowded time at the pools the entire cruise. I felt bad for all the kids that were looking at them with envy waiting for their suitcases to show up with their swim suits.

Looks like there's a few of us from PA.

We'll be flying out of BWI on Wednesday night.

Verandah Man, I'm glad your DW and DD could join the cruise.

I wrote out a DCL postcard from Mickey and Minnie for my wife. It stated that Mickey and Minnie were very excited to hear that she and Angelina would be joining them on the May 13th sailing of the Magic. Hazel started jumping up and down and screaming, "I'm going on the May 13th cruise, I'm really going on the May 13th cruise? I can't believe it, you got Angelina and I on the May 13th cruise?" It was priceless, I only wish I had my video camera running at the time. Angelina was sitting there grinning from ear to ear. :teeth:

Great News Andy, so glad they are are joining you. We are in cabin 2368 (I think thats it :confused3 ) I know it is labeled a noisy cabin - however I don't think it will bother us especially since I sleep with a sound machine everyday I also travel with it, the hum of engines is the least of DH's issues - my "sawing of wood" :rotfl2: tends to be more annoying - I don't hear a thing and sleep like a log :bitelip:

I can't believe we are under 60 days! I think we are doing a scavenger hunt with scrabble tiles to tell the kids - maybe on Easter! I am trying to hold out that long :rolleyes1 its getting tougher

I am not exactly sure how it will all work but I got the idea from another poster on the DIS and I liked it, so I stole it :lmao:

Can't believe how many little girls will be sailing - I think we are dominated by girls if I am not mistaken, myself I have 2 DS's I can't wait to tell them about their MOTHERS Day present to me :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Good morning!

Do any of you know if they sell loose precious stones on board? I thought I read somewhere a long time ago that they did. When we were on NCL 10 years ago they sold loose sapphires, emeralds and I don't know what else.

If so, does anyone know if it is a relative bargain?

I want to look at sapphire rings in St. Maarten, but if I can get a loose stone, then I can have it set the way I like later on.

Thanks
Kathleen :shamrock:
Hi there bxirishrn,
I am still fairly new at this posting, but I just have to say I think St. M has the best prices on jewelry. I have a saphire ring that my DH said I needed 13 years ago from there, went back 2 years later to find they had a matching necklace. I hope you are as lucky as I was, since I wasn't even looking for saphires. Hope to see you & all of the others May 13th, sounds like it is a great group. :wave2:

Hi! (dh here) Our DD(5) will also be looking for playmates, or be stuck with her 2 brothers DS (6) andd DS (8).
We'll be flying down from BWI Thursday afternoon and staying at the Ron Jon Cape Caribe for 2 nights. We are also going to try to go to Grills on that Friday evening.

Hey arndtge we are neighbors. I live east of Reading, PA. Can you believe this weather? It is starting to feel like summer!

Yes, Dr. Cavin, I was enjoying our early spring. But now the snowflakes are flying. Nothing like a Northeast Ohio winter, huh? I am a cat lover. I have three of them. No Ragdolls though. Ragdoll is a song by my favorite band, Aerosmith. Well, actually since I got Kid Rock's new live album this weekend they are my second favorite band. They have been replace by my "kid". This grandma loves rock n roll! :rockband:

Hi everyone,

Is anyone decorating their doors? I know this was discussed before, but it's 58 days now! :sail:

The only idea I can come up with is to take the Disney paint samples, put them on magnet sheets, cut them out, put some curling ribbon in the bottom, and voila!!!! Mickey balloons!!!! :earsgirl: :earsboy: Does anyone know a link to look at other ideas?

Looks like alot of people for Grills! I can check to see if they'll take a 5 p ressie for our group, when we get closer to 5/12. We're going to be a large group :grouphug:

Ragdoll, yep snowing today :( My DD has a ragdoll cat, B-day present a few years ago, WTH was I thinking on that one :drinking1

bxirishrn, we will be decorating our door. We are going to use many of the pieces we had from last time, will need to update the one that had the date listed on it. Made finding our stateroom MUCH easier & the kids liked decorating it.

I will be decorating our door as well. I have signs made up from our first cruise that I use, I also made up a special sign just for the Pirate Night party. I'll also be making a special sign for my mom as we will be celebrating her 70th birthday on this cruise.

My DW, DD and I will be flying in late Thursday evening, the rest of our party I believe will be driving down and will be leaving here (NJ) Wednesday night. I don't know what plans they might have for Friday night, but 5pm at Grills sounds good to me.

Thanks FairyG, I bought a ring when we last went to St.Marrten 10 yrs ago, but I lost it :guilty: (DH does not know). Maybe I'll just replace it, and not tell him.

Dr. Cavin do you know :smooth: a link to go to to get more ideas for door magnets? :sunny:

Our flight on 5/12 gets in at 3:16 into Orlando, then luggage, then drive to the Radisson. I'm thinking we might not make The Grill at 5. Can we push it up to 5:30? :goodvibes

There was a huge thread on door decorations recently, you should be able to find it pretty easily. It had a bunch of links & stuff in it. Just be careful of some of the sites for fonts & such, can get some nasty viruses from them.

5:30, 6:00, 7:00.. doesnt matter to me ;)

Hello everyone! I haven't had time to read the whole thread, I will do that tonight. I just wanted to introduce myself and family. Renee, my husband Ray and son who is 21 and in school for pediatric neurosurgery! My sister Michelle and her daughter Sarah who is 11 will also be joining us. My family is in cabin 8578. My sister is on deck 5 cabin 5514

When I booked this cruise in December 2005. Just for my family, it was approximately $6800.00. We live in New Jersey but have property in Florida and have FL Resident ID's. So just last week we got our FL resident rates and our TA called and we saved $2384.00! WOW! What a Blessing. So now we went ahead and booked some more excursions that we would maybe have waited on.

This is what we have so far:

Parasailing in CC
Banana Boat ride in CC

Scuba Diving for Ray and & Brian in St. Maarten

Anguilla Dolphin Encounter for Michelle, Sarah and myself in St. Maarten

St. John Barefoot Sail and Snorkel for everyone

We also have Palo's for Sunday Brunch for 4 and Dinner for Monday night.

We have a Couple's Massage on our wish list. I can't seem to book it online. I also would like to try for a swedish massage as would my son. I was told you could book these once you get on board. Any truth to this?

As for our flight plans. We plan on arriving the day before and staying on Disney property at Coronado Springs. We have Disney Transfers included in our cost already and our flight would arrive at 9 am so we would have the full day to use the pool and hot tub.

I am so glad I found this thread. It is so nice to see so many people going and I am looking forward to meeting all of you! Any tips would be apprecaited!

Hi there nutz4dzny, That sure was a nice saving that you got. :thumbsup2 We are from N.J. also with a place in Fl. but of course we didn't even think about getting a Fl. resident rate. :sad2: We even have a Florida D.L. I was just so excited to be going on a Disney C. I didn't even give it a thought.I am surprised my DD or SIL didn't think of it. Oh well! Looking forward to meeting every one on the boards. :Pinkbounc :firefight

Make sure to check your PM's!!!

:wave2: Good Morning Fellow Cruisers,

Just popping by to say hello before I get my day underway. Here's wishing everyone a happy Wednesday!!! :thumbsup2

Andy - glad you were able to get DW & DD on the cruise.

Looks like we are getting a nice big group.

Have to go to work. Everyone have a great day.

Sounds like the FL residents got some great rates! That is awesome :cool1: We did get a great rate for this cruise we booked back in June '05 - for the 4 of us CAT 9 $3300 - our friends 2 cabins CAT 9 - $5200

I think that is pretty good since 2 years ago we paid 500 less for a CAT 11 - I would love to change to deck 5 CAT 8 if I could but with 3 cabins needing the change not to much opens up

Sunny here in Boston but very cold just 40 degrees this morning!

Off to get the kids to school then work! We have a hockey tournament this weekend, it starts today for my youngest - If I knew how to post a picture I would he is so cute  in his hockey gear :teeth: OH, I mean real vicious looking :rotfl2: :lmao:

Verandah man/Nuts4dzny- What are the stipulations you must meet when getting a Fl discount? My parents own a home in Clearwater but reside in Maryland most of the year. I know my mom has a Fl drivers lincense. Not sure about my dad.
They will be flying into Tampa and staying at their house a couple days before the cruise and could get paperwork sent there. Is it too late for them to get a rebate of some sort and book as FL residents?

I'm registering my "baby" up for 2006- 2007 kindergarten today!

Have a great day!
