okay I have a new packing dilema-
i bought some beautiful new beach towels for the four of us specifically for this trip, and they seem to take up a lot of room in my suitcase. I was hoping we could pack everything in two cases- one large and one small . Now I think it will be the large and two small ones.
This for our clothes, towels, shoes, a bag of Huggies pull ups for the youngest for the week, toiletries bag, DH shaving kit, etc.. I am not usually an overpacker. But am suddenly glad, Disney will be pulling these around for us.

How many suitcases will you be packing?

Lets just say it's a good thing we have a truck to drive to the airport...:lmao:
We (DW-DH) take two suitcases plus one carry-on...now our kids...the over packers...well..we need the truck! And because I'm not a swimmer the days they go to the waterparks, I will do laundry!...then go to the beach and read until they get back...my little vacation.
JC

ps. Lake are you rolling the towels up or packing them flat...idea....get a spacesaver bag...you will be surprise at how flat you can get them.

You guys are busy posters today.

JC- Congrats on the 500:banana:

Shelly- That cake looks so cute. I am sure you will do a great job! Can I come over and eat some?

Jo- When do you get back from the vaca? I LOVE LOBSTER TAILS!!

As far as what meal I will be looking forward to I would have to say maybe Le Cellier or Kona Cafe, Maybe Boma or 1900 Park Faire. LOL:laughing: We are trying all new places this year.

Luggage- I am bringing one VERY large suitcase and 2 small ones. Last year I brought them and also a heavy bag. I like to pack an extra bag for sounvenirs.

Smells- I guess I am looking forward to the humid smell of Florida. My hair isnt though:scared1:

and with that..page 129...I will go do some housework...see you real soon.
JC

We'll probably have a big suitcase (all mine), a medium sized suitcase (the DH's), 2 carry ons (one of which will be my rolling laptop case and probably a backpack for the DH), and at least one other smaller bag/suitcase for shoes, toiletries, etc. On the way home, I expect to add another smaller bag/suitcase (I'll bring an extra inside my big suitcase) for souvenirs and other 'booty' we may want to bring home.

I know no matter how much I pack, it will always be less than what my mom packs when she travels. For a weekend to Vegas with my father, she can easily bring a large suitcase, small suitcase and huge duffel bag.

Hey fello MAYers. Were going the 7th - 16th. 38 days. I got my Magical Express package in yesterday so now I'm getting even more excited.....if that's actually possible without actually being on the plan.:yay:
I've done the space savers too! Were a family of 5 and I got all our clothes into one bag for all of us for 9 days last yr. They do work great, but... watch the weight limits. I also bring an empty suitcase to bring all the souviners home in.
We ALWAYS go to the Prime Time 50' Cafe, ESPN Club, Chef Mickey s for a breakfast buffet (my fav meal of the day) and Rainforest Cafe. We'll do the same this year but were adding on the Sci-fi. (Never been yet).
Were really looking forward to our parents night out to the ESPN Club this yr. Were going to plan on going to watch a Sabres play off game. Were just waiting for the schedule to be posted to determine which day......:cheer2:

Okay- you all just made me relax, suddenly my three bags for four people doesn't seem like a lot anymore!

Thank you!

For the 4 of us we have one big suitcase (the one from the DCL) and then we also have 3 carry ons. We wilk be shipping down the diapers/wipes/snacks and that sort of thing :)

I just really hope, we all keep this thread going after our trip so that we can tell each other about our vacations and all the highlights. We will also have to keep in touch so that we can see how Mella's job is going, how Michelle's baby is growing and even what we do now, tell each other what's for dinner and how's the weather!!

I hope so too!!

michelle- and others who ship boxes down!

how long before do you ship them, and how.
by regular mail or do you fed ex it to arrive the day before you for example.

just curious how you have done this in the past as I am possibly considering sending pull ups and extra juice boxes and snacks this way.
all the things that will be used and not brought home again.

We pack an extra suitcase with juice boxes, bottled water, snacks, cereal bars, etc. and then we use the empty suitcase to bring back our souvenirs & goodies we've bought on the trip!!

I used UPS because that is what we have at work and I can track it.

I would recommend using anything that you can track and ship it a couple of days before your arrive so you know that it is there.

we only use UPS. I like to track it and make sure it was signed for! We also pack up a foldable duffel bag that comes home full of souvies :)

I ship it 2 weeks in advance, just to elave room to re-ship if something happens. As soon as it arrives i usually call POP and find out if they really have it and then find out where it is located, so i know when i get there.

Another idea  My DD is super skinny (as in she is 2 yrs old and still wearing 6-12month shorts!) soo she has had several pairs of shorts that she has worn since her first summer with us! hahah and DS is going through a growth spurt and still fits in his end of the season last summer clothes. So Since i bought them soo many new clothes this year, we are taking down the older shorts (still the newer tops!!) and will just leave them behind at the end of the trip :)

We usually always do this since we travel during times when summer is over and back here in IL it's snowing! :lmao: so we always leave the clothes, shoes and such :) I leave them with a note for mousekeeping to pass along to anyone that may need them :) we've gotten several thank you notes in the mail afterwards :)

Hi everyone - checking in!

The days are clicking off a bit faster now.

We are at 46 I think.

Congrats on the new clothes, luggage, birthdays and job positions everyone.

I am already thinking about how I could extend my holiday time now that I am getting a grasp how enormous WDW is. 7 days is not enough time. You need at least 2 weeks or more to take it in without rushing around.

BTW, what's for dinner? LOL. You all crack me up with your daily menu listings.

Dinner tonight- Either chinese food or??????????? I am not sure.

Michelle- I cannot believe your dd can wear 6-12 months shorts. WoW My girls are like weeds. They grown out of stuff so fast.

i haven't thought about dinner, Maybe we will order in! The kitchen is so sparkly right nowit would be a shame to ruin it!

hahaah she is getting really tall though, so they are like shorty shorts  so sometimes i have to buy plain boys shorts, since they are a bit longer ::yes:: :) it's a PAIN in the but buying pants though b/c her waist is tiny and her legs are long!! grrr....she does NOT take after mommy!

LOL:rotfl: Have you ever tried Target for shorts. The girls shorts are much longer than normal shorts.
