Oh, you are so more than welcome in our party!!!!

I just moved from Bentonville to Pittsburgh, PA. Where are you from?

Jo

I'm in Searcy.
We were in Fayetville a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't believe the changes in the whole Bentonville, F'ville, Springdale area. Wow.

Daisy,
Have him look at the new MDX. The model I have is the older one, and my DH says it is more of a "girl's Car", but the new ones have been re-designed are are more appealing to a man. The Volvo is definitely a woman's car. The Mercedes in that same class could go either way.

He may truly love the Denali. DH did, but he always wanted one. He was sad to see the Suburban go. I smiled and waved as it pulled out.:) However, DH would never buy one now that he has seen what else is out there for the same, if not less, money.

J.

PS... Filling up was painful- but it had a massive gas tank. One fill up would last me a week and a half.

Funny story about new cars...
I have a friend that owned a Maxima, and drove it to her parents house in Georgia (from Arkansas) with her Dh and two kids at Christmas. Two days before they were supposed to drive back to AR, they had to go to the mall and exchange some presents. On the way there, they started talking about how they would never be able to fit all of the presents into the trunk. She looks at her DH and says, jokingly, as they are passing the local Nissan dealer, "We could always buy a new car..."

Two hours later, they had a new set of keys to a Quest and a lot more room for their luggage. She told me, "Well, I guess it would have been cheaper to ship some of those packages home." Ya' think???:rotfl:

We just book 5-14 to 5-21, CSR. First trip to WDW, however, we are Cali's and have been going to The Original for 45+ years. We are hooking up with some friends who are driving up from Ft. Myers. Looking forward to some fun at WDW. -Seacrestpromo

Hi!!:welcome: to the Dis & welcome to our thread!!
You're going to love it here!!

Thank you for the welcome. Now I am trying to figure out where we should plan to eat. My wife is celebrating her b-day on while we are here. I want to do some special things that day. Any suggestions?

How exciting!!! My biggest suggestion is to check out the menus on www.allearsnet.com and when you find a restaurant you like, make some ADR's (reservations) fast. Sit-down restaurants are nearly impossible to walk into these days, and most people who are traveling in May have already made their ADR's.

For special occasion meals, my DH and I love Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. The food is fantastic and the service is gracious. It's definitely one of our favorite restaurants on property.

Any more questions, just ask away!!

Oh, and the California Grill at the Contemporary is lovely too. If you dine later, you may have the opportunity to watch the Wishes fireworks from the restaurant. If you tell them it's a special occasion, and request a window seat, you may just get it!!

welcome

I have spent a lot of time looking for the right places to eat during our trip as well. Finally finished booking all my advanced dinner reservations this week.
Check out the disney dining threads, and you will find the list of restaurants and ratings people have given them.
And check out the menus at allears.net, for sure.

Le Cellier (Canada at Epcot) is always a winner though.

Marcy~

If you've had yours that long, you may have Brochitis and a sinus infection. Both will take an antibiotic to clear up. Please go see your Doctor.

Love,
Nurse Jo:upsidedow

Jo,
I'm afraid you might be right on that. :sad2: I'm going to try and squeeze in on Monday (unfortunately, my day is full...I teach pre-school in the morning, and I sub at my son's elementary school on Monday afternoon) I have been sick so much this year...it's my first year teaching 2 year olds at our church pre-school and I have not built up any immunities yet. Everyone keeps telling me that the first year is the worst year. I hope they are right...I can't afford my $30 co-pays anymore!;)

OMG you guys did it 80 pages....Wow! now I've got to back a few pages and catch up.

And welcome to Seacrestpromo...California here...born and raised!

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, had to go out and play.

Yea, it is great living in So Cal. Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the tips Marcy. Has anyone ate at Ohana? I have heard it is fun place and food is good too.

BTW, does anyone go to the chat room here on the board? I am in the main one now.

We will be at WDW the same week as you. For us, May 11-19.

We'll be there on my MIL's b-day.
I've made an ADR for dinner at LTT.
My MIL said she wanted to have dinner with Mickey. Mickey's not at this character meal, but Minnie is, - close enough!! (We'll be dining with Mickey on other evenings).

We will get her a b-day button to wear in the parks that day. I'm hoping she'll wear it.
I'm going to call the Main Street bakery when it gets closer to our trip & order a b-day cake to be delivered to the restaurant for our dinner that night. There'll be 8 of us in our group...2 are my kids, so we do a lot of character meals.

Make your ADRs soon, although if you are a just a party of 2, you should have an easier time booking now, rather than if you were a larger group.

My wife is a k-teacher. She has 25 6 and 7 year olds that touch, hug, sneeze, barf and everything else you can imagine on her. She has been teaching for over 15 years and has been rarely sick. You will make it.

Great idea on the b-day cake, Daisy.

Does anyone know if you can get chocolate dipped strawberrys delivered to the room? How about gift baskets? Disney jewelry ideas?

That is so true.
I've been teaching 16 years.
When I first started, I'd catch everything.
This year, I haven't even had a cold (where's that "knock on wood" smilie??)

BTW, I had 2 kids throw up this week!

Seacrest, check out the menu for Citricos over at the Grand Floridian and as mentioned, California Grill....try for a time around the fireworks at the MK, what a view.
