What's everybody up to today?

The sun is out and shining bright here, but it is only about 18 degrees! Oh my, it's going to be a long 5 months!!

DS6 is having a few friends over this afternoon for a play-date and cookies! After that I might think about starting to pack for our weekend trip.

What a morning

I went outside to find my car battery was dead. DH had left for work and I had to take the girls to school, luckily my neighbors helped me jump it and I called dh to turn around and take the girls to school.

What a day

I went on the field trip today with my dd's class. They sang at the state capital and then we went to the Skippy Peanut butter factory for a tour. Skippy has 1 factory here in Little Rock and one in China. So, if you are a Skippy fan, your peanut butter is made right here in Little Rock, AR. They had samples for us and my favorite was the Skippy Natural.

Shelly - Where are you going for the weekend?

Huggie - So sorry about your car. Things like that happen to me when I least need it to happen, like before a BIG trip. I always tell myself things like just two more days and I'll be on vacation!

Oh, my dd asked today if a peanut is a pea or a nut. Well, I just thought you silly child, everyone knows it is a nut. Well guess what? It is a legume, it grows in a pod, which makes is more closely related to the pea according to the peanut butter expert. Who knew?

First I find out sprinkles are called jimmies and a peanut is not a nut but rather a legume. My world may not ever be the same.

Afternoon Mayers!

Send some sun back to us....Woke up this morning to snow...its still snowing and we've got somewhere between 4 and 5 inches already:scared: ....should be stopping soon though.

What a day

Must be a day for car issues too....Mine is sitting in a parking lot at one campus, I'm currently at another campus. I can't get it unstuck from the snow/ice, the tires just keep spinning....some Good Samaritans stopped to help me and still weren't able to get it out....

And riding the bus to this campus we were stopped for about 10 minutes waiting for some cars to be pushed up a hill by two guys, they pushed 4 cars up an overpass before continuing on. So good to see some wonderful people in the world after what happened yesterday in Omaha.

countdown!

Sorry about the car troubles! :sad2: I hate when those things happen!

Shelly - Where are you going for the weekend?

We are going to the Oglebay Festival of Lights in Wheeling WV! It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here.

Sorry about all the snow and your car getting stuck. One good thing about our freezing temperatures here - It's too cold to snow! :scared1:

Jo- Hope your day is better!!!

The girls and I went and got our nails done. Very cute

Good news I got my adrs switched around. I got a Kona cafe adr. I figured I should try this now before the dining plan changes.:cool1:

Shelly~

Be careful on your way to Wheeling~ It's so nasty out there! I wasn't expecting snow today, but it is pretty and a bit comforting to me today.

Have a fun time and be careful...

Jo

So it's been 7 years since my Dad died.

I just honestly am not over it. I always think it's going to get better, and every year, it slaps me silly.

Yesterday was just an awful day for me. Finally at 6 PM I broke and cried for what seemed an eternity.

And just as I got to where I was feeling a bit better, Mark walks through the door with a dozen roses and the new Michael Buble Christmas CD. I don't know what I'd do without him.

Anyway, I am better today. I think I am almost all cried out, but when I called Mom this morning, we both started again. They were married for 32 years, so she is struggling today as well.

Oh, grief. I will be happy when today is a memory.

Sorry to dump on ya'll. I always do...:grouphug:

On to better, more bright subjects!

Huggie, I do hope that your trip is wonderful. What time do you land?

JC, Hugs to you. The tree is beautiful.

Shelly, again, be careful

Sulley, hope your car troubles sare better

Mella, hope the retail has calmed down some. Sorry...

NewCrew, loved the peanut story. Who Knew???? I prefer my peanuts boiled. Ever had 'em like that? Yum.

Mari, hope you are doing good.

Seacrest, is it too early to ask what's for lunch? How's the wife's job? Anything good going on?

Is that everyone???? Hugs to all of you guys...

Jo

Okay, PS, had to share this...

Anyone catch the College football awards ceremony on ESPN last night? They were at WDW, and they kept showing the castle, the parades, fireworks...MVMCP... all of it. The castle with the icicle lights were breathtaking. (I thought of you, Huggie!)

DH and I both said " We want to go next year for that" (meaning the awards). Our Florida QB won two awards and is up for the Heisman...
So naturally, we got all giggly when we saw him win and he was outside signing autographs. Hum...
If he is as good next year as he was this year, we may have to become December travelers instead of Novemeber'ers!

Oh, my! Maybe I could go twice... OMG, he's frozen again.:sad2:
