Shelly- I wish i could go May of 08... I have to wait til may 09. but it's ok in May of 08 my DH family is having a family reunion/vacation in a resort in punta cana dominican republic. I can't wait. the beaches look great over there. but DMM is right garage sales are the best way to get some cash.

i can't believe i'm jealous of my DD2 since she is going to WDW in feb Without me. boo for me. :sad2:

JoBird - i hate packing i feel your pain... good luck...

Yep, been to Hershey many times! It's a lot of fun. And only about a 4 hour drive. There's a theme park, some great hotels, the Chocolate World - which has a 3-D show, a simulated tour ride, food, and lots of other fun Hershey stuff to do, there's an underground cavern nearby, and many other things to do in the area.
Our most recent trip to Hershey was this past October for the Halloween festivities. Lots of fun!
This time we are skipping the theme park (Disney has ruined all other parks for us!!), but we are going to go to the cavern, and of course Chocolate World, and are then driving to Nottingham PA to the Herr's potato chip factory for a tour there.

Why, oh why do I buy Birthday cake when it's no one's day?????

But it's soooooo good, as I sit here, eating cake and Dis'ing!:lmao:

Jo

Hello MAYer friends!! :goodvibes

Great video Seacrest! You'll have to be our official tour guide when we come to Disneyland!! Someday! ;)

M2DB, pick a date and we will give you (and any other Mayer out there) the big tour of SoCal. Disneyland, California Adventure, Knotts, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain Legoland, Hollywood Blvd. Beverly Hills and Santa Monica Pier and Beach (my hometown).

Glad you all liked the videos.

Hello MAYers! WOW everyone must have had a busy weekend, this thread hasn't moved since last week!
Busy here too! We had vacation bible school all last week which ended with a program and picnic after church yesterday. Had a birthday party to go to Sat. night. Swim lessons started this morning. :fish: All kinds of stuff going on. I can't believe it is nearly August already.

Seacrest - I wish I could say we would be coming to CA sometime soon, but it will probably be several years before we attempt it. I just don't think the kids would travel well that far! Someday!! I would love to visit all those great places you mentioned!

Hey! I just read a couple of pages.

Sounds like everyone has a lot going on!

Mari's baby is going back to WDW!

Jo is getting a new house.

Baby Roman will be here soon.

Sulley is working at Super Target and I am secretly jealous. ::yes::

Secrest continues to go to DisneyLand and I am secretly jealous of that too!

Things have been so busy here!

The kids went to summer camp! It was wonderful! I think they had fun too! Hee hee!

We went to the beach with a good friend of mine. We took the kids and our mother's. So we had 3 kids each. I left my mom in the condo the first day. She was tired from traveling and just wanted to sit on the balcony. She fell asleep in the shade and got a sunburn. What's a daughter to do? I told her I didn't think I could leave her alone after that! Ha!

My son has played an enormous amount of tennis this summer. He is playing 4 hours a day this week, in a mini tennis camp. He has moved up into the youth group with our church and has had about one activity a week with that. He is mowing our yard this summer and still requires a lot of supervision. I am determined to get him trained. I am thinking that next summer, I will just be able to say go mow without feeling like I have to watch him every other minute. I am just afraid he might get hurt, but he is doing a super job. Our yard looks 100 times better than last summer when it was hired out. He decided today that he wants to read every Harry Potter book before school starts. Of course it was going to be two months before we could get on the list for one of the books at the library. Thank heavens for Sam's Club.

My daughter has had a kinder gentler summer. Lots of swimming at the pool (which ours feels like luke warm bath water.) She is going to an art camp next week and is totally excited. She had a fun party yesterday at Build - A - Bear (where I am always amazed at how many of those things they sell.)

We are changing the club where my son plays tennis and it is a bit stressful for me. I need to have a conversation this week with his instructor. I planned on talking to him Thursday, but someone let him know today that we are changing. He emailed me that he heard Chris was changing tennis clubs. I emailed him back that it was true and I would be more than happy to talk to him about it on Thursday and that I had planned on talking to him about it then. I wanted to be the one to tell him. I don't know why I am nervous about it but I am. I guess I just don't like to hurt anyone's feelings. He is a very nice retired guy. I just love him. The tennis pros at our club don't take much interest anymore in Jr. Tennis. The club we are changing to uses tennis pros for every lesson and they are very serious about tennis. My son is loving it and I guess that is what matters most.

I think this summer I have had that Mommy feeling of there just isn't enough of me to go around. I think I am ready for school to start. I think I feel more adaquate then.

Keep on postin!

Oh- Our school starts on August 15. How 'bout you guys?

Hey everyone. i agree with Newcrew i guess we all had a busy weekend. me i know i have i had 2 parties to attend on saturday then on sunday my mother had a bbq that i hepled her with. it was crazy. The only good thing that happend was that my Photopass CD finally came in. I know it took a while before i ordered it. but we have it now    all it did was make me miss disney more then ever. Maybe i'll beg my mother to take me to disney in feb when she plans to take her grandkids.... wishful thinking i guess.....:earsgirl:

Hey guys!

So good to hear from all of you! NewCrew, you stranger you! We've missed you! When is that TR going to get done???? We are all on pins and needles to read the rest!

We have had a very busy weekend. Had company. UGH.

Do you ever have company come to town and you really do feel like a horrible, terrible no-good friend, but you just wish they would go back to where they came from??? :sad2: That was me this weekend.

On Friday afternoon, I came home from Sam's (love it, BTW) with twenty-five million groceries to put away. I backed the Acura into the garage so that I could unload from the back. I went downstairs to the basement to put all the exta stuff into the other fridge and came back up to see the door into the garage closed. "Who closed the garage?" I asked my kids and DS says (all proud, because he had locked it and we were safe from all of the predators lurking out there in the woods where our closest neighbor is a half mile away) "I did Mom." I openend the door to find...

The garage door (the big one, with the openner) had been closed on top of the front of the Acura. It's one of those old ones with no sensor.:scared1:

I started saying oh no, oh no. Um, oh yes. One of the bolts to the door had scraped all the way down it and lodged itself into the front of the car.:guilty:

I was scared to tell DH. Oh my. I cried, almost threw up (but of course, you all know me by now, LOL) and decided to wait on DH to call from work. Oh, and company was only hours from arriving.

Anyway, long story, I know, but as if I didn't have enough to fuss about...

I haven't packed the house up, I haven't done anything but rebel and revolt. I work better under pressure anyway.:scared:

The kids are going to their new schools that starts on the 28th and I still haven't called for their transcripts.

Horrible, terrible Mom I am. But I went swimming with them this morning so I'm still okay. Who needs school anyway???? :rotfl:

Everyone check in here...I need to keep my sanity!

:grouphug:
Jo:snooty:

Oh My Gosh JO ! Sorry about your car!

Sure is a hot one here in PA today :goodvibes

Aww, thanks! It's not too pretty, but I can still drive it!;)

I think PA is playing catch-up to the rest of the country as far as the heat goes! My kids are excited because we are able to just jump into the pool all day long! This AM we all got up and just put on our suits. It's been fun, but so much work! Not to mention the expense...:scared1:

Jo

Jo - what a bummer about the car. I did the same thing too when I first got my Mustang. I was 20 at the time and I had tried to park my car in a underground structure. The gate came crashing down on my hood making a 11 inch gash before it decided to stop maiming my car.

I feel your pain!

Hey Jo sorry to hear abou tyour car. I feel your pain. It will be ok. Just close your eyes and go to your happy place (hoping it's somewhere in WDW)

Thanks Seacrest and Mari and Shelly!!!!

I have been strolling down Main Street USA, holding hands with Mickey Mouse, eating a Dole Whip, watching everything go by in a slow motion happiness blur...

Okay, now reality...

Boxes, boxes everywhere! Remember the kid in The Sixth Sense..."I see dead people"?

That's me, only I have a look of terror in my eyes, not from spirit beings, but from box-beings! "I see empty boxes"...

Oh good grief.:dance3:

Jo

I am not to fond of boxes either. My favorites are the "unpacked" ones. Love those!

I too have damaged my car with the garage. I just usually knock the side mirrors off. :confused3 How does that happen?

I must be needeing a really good laugh, NewCrew!

I am just sitting here, imagining you driving down the road, trying to change lanes with no side mirrors! It's really got me chuckling. Stress does some stange things to you.;)

Seacrest.... all i have to say is

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It's good our Jo needs laughs.....

Oh My!! Seacrest, you are hilarious!! :lmao:

You guys always make me laugh!!

So how are those empty boxes coming JO? Anything in them yet??? Are you going to be moving the same week school starts? How are the kids taking changing schools? Will they go to SV schools or private? I met a woman at swimming lessons this week that teaches 5th grade at SV.

The kids and I went school clothes shopping this morning at the Outlet Mall! They weren't too thrilled with the whole idea, but didn't do too bad. They have some great sales going on right now. You wouldn't believe what I got for them - 14 shirts and 4 pairs of jeans for $102 !! :woohoo: And we only went to 3 stores - Gap Kids, OshKosh, & Vanity Fair !! I am so happy with my bargains! :goodvibes
