Yea, you're probably right Seacrest. . . I know I would definitely be bored after a day or so at the beach. I'm not sure about the rest of the family. . . We don't surf or anything like that living in PA, so it would just be playing in the sand and swimming!

So we may just do Disney next May!! Of course it will depend on our tax refund again!!

So if we stay at CSR what would be a good location/section to request? Keep in mind we would be traveling via Disney transportation, so something close to a bus stop, but quiet. Close to food court & pool, but not too close, etc. I don't ask for much, do I ?!?!?

About CSR:

We stayed in 8B. It was right next to the main pool. They have huge trees and bushes to cut down the sound from the pool, but when you are in your room, it is extremely quiet. We never heard anyone or anything in while in our room.

The building is also right next to the Disney bus station. The Pepper Market is not too far away from the building either. Here is a map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cspringsmap.htm

I booked our trip on www.expedia.com and got a great deal on the whole thing. I would do it again.

Hi Mayers...

DMM, I hope that everything is going well for you and your Father. I woke up first thing this AM and said a prayer for all of you.

As for the next trip-

I still prefer the last week of October/first week of November as my favorite time to go, ( I know, sacrilege to the snooty~ )so that may well be our next time frame. We'll see how we are fairing in a month or so.
Dh is asking for a January (late) trip, b/c of his vacation time, but the next time we go, HE ASKED THAT IT BE A 2 WEEK SPLIT STAY!!!!!!!!...

Awwww, he's so sweet.


BTW, we decided against the house we were looking at. It's priced too high and needs some updating. I don't know how long we are going to be in PA, so we are holding tight on a decision.

NC, please don't be a good mother and give the poor baby milk before that AR humidity. Are you punishing him for a bad grade or something?? I'm kidding. I have done this so many times to my kids...I always used to forget before sending DD to her cheerleading games. EWWWWWW....

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and kind words. Due to the hospital transfer today they rescheduled surgery for wednesday at 8am. My father is doing well, just ready to get it all over with.

So after thinking about how far away May 2009 is we are thinking about changing our plans AGAIN!! As I told you we would! We really wanted to take the kids to the beach next year, but just don't know how it will live up to Disney. So we are thinking maybe we should just stick with what we know is good! Well, GREAT actually!

We're actually thinking about driving down next June. Are we crazy for thinking about driving?? It's about a 16 hour trip from here, give or take. DH would probably take a bulk of his vacation days so we could stop overnight in Savannah on the way down, and then stop overnight somewhere on the way home too. If we drive, we'd like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We wouldn't do the dining plan, and would eat a few meals off-site.

My kids get out of school June 4th again next year, so we'd go right when they get out of school.

My Dh loves to drive, but me not so much! I mean, I don't mind being a passenger, but I'm a nervous driver when I don't know the territory, and I hate driving at night.

If it were up to my DH, we'd probably drive straight through. I'm talking about stopping overnight so we can see some things we've never seen. Friends of ours stopped overnight in the Savannah area and said it was really very nice...
I've never seen any states south of Virginia (besides Florida) and only my DS8 has been as far as North Carolina with friends of ours. It would be nice to see more of this great country from the ground (instead of from the sky!)

DMM - So glad to hear things are OK with your dad today. Let us know how Wed. goes. I know you guys are ready to get this behind you.

I keep checking airfare for the end of Oct. My DS has 2 days out of school the last Thursday and Friday. I am thinking evil thoughts like it wouldn't really hurt him to miss 2 or 3 day of school. I could take him out of school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He of course will have a fit because he hates to miss school. DD would have to be taken out all of that week. But she is only in 4th grade, plus she doesn't care if I take her out.

We have APs and I REALLY need to get my money's worth out of them.

DH cannot take off. (He could take off but he will not.) He takes one week off a year. He also takes off for things for the kids like school programs, etc. Which makes him a great dad in my book. He hates to miss work. (Hmm maybe this is where DS gets his I hate to miss school.)

I REALLY want to go back!!!

Jo-Tomorrow DS is getting crackers and gatorade for breakfast. No more world's best mom for me!

we put the pool in, and the deck is done. the contractors come to give us estimates for the addition this week.
hosted a large dinner party last weekend- and am still trying to de-disney my brain.

any one else feeling scatterbrained since getting home.

Dont get me started on pools. We opened ours but we found a pinhole which turned into a bigger hole. UGH!! So yesterday we bought a new liner now I will just have to wait to see when they can install it.

so sorry we didnt bump into each other on mainstreet! maybe next time.
we just put the pool in, but even though its cold and rainy we jumped in just to say we have already used it! I know we are a bunch of crazy canucks!

I am excited and nervous about the contractors- we need some more estimates and ideas, and then it will be off to the bank to see exactly what we can do, and what the time frame will be.

by the way- DH is loving his new job! 20 minutes more each way in the car- but he doesnt seem to mind.

Well, I hope they can install it soon, Huggie! You know us Northerners only have a few days of summer left... Ha HA!

Lucky for us, we are in this rental house and so if anything goes wrong with the pool, we call the owner, who calls someone to fix it. Renting is not so bad, after all!
