well- today, we are going on a Dole Whip hunt. I saw where there's a ice cream place not really really far from here- and they have em, so that's where we're headed! Woo hoo!

I can't waitfor the Dole Whip!

ETA- okay- it's further than I thought---
is 15 miles too far to drive for a Dole Whip?

The resort was GORGEOUS.... to tell you the truth that resort is like the WDW of guatemala.... they have a theme park attached to it... BEAUTIFUL... and guess how much we paid per night..... we got a 2 bedroom suite.... divided that in 4 and we paid 15 each per night each so it was like 60 a night..... i have more pics of the resort if u want to see. It had a miniture golf, 3 pools, jacuzzi's, like 5 restaurants... very nice.... and relaxing. I have stayed there 3 times already...

Mari - Thanks for posting those pictures. They are beautiful and bring back some very good memories. You stayed at a very nice resort - it looks awesome.

There were a lot of security and military people around when I went both times. It was surprising to see young guys 18-21 carrying around AK-47s. Never encountered any problems on either of my trips.

I loved going into the little home stores to get hot freshly made tortillas and Pepsi...in a plastic baggie with a straw!

There are El Pollo Campero's here in the LA area now too. Both times that I came back home on the place, people had buckets of that darn chicken on the plane so that they could take it home to their family. Can you imagine how hungry I got smelling that stuff for 5+ hours?

Haha... we are already seeing what we can arrange.

the address for the Dole Whips is 8130 Perry Hwy Mccandless PA- the name of the ice cream stand is Kool Kones.
Not a restaurant- just a stand.

But better than driving to Florida to get one, LOL.
