Hey all....

Good news about your uncle Sea....

For all of you Mayers that have stayed in POP... i was reading reviews and a lot of people were writing on how they can hear EVERYTHING in their room... is this true because i think we are leaning towards POP now...

two words- turbo toilets.

keep your bathroom doors closed, it won't be really really bad.
The walls, however, paper thin.

Sea- great news on your uncle!!!!

Jo

wow i was afraid of that..... would i be able to hear what is going on in the other room....

Yeah Mari, I have heard that about POP and all the Values. Guess the walls are thinner there??? I was concerned about that when we were going to ASMo. . .

I always keep the bathroom door closed even at the mods because of those toilets!

we heard absolutely nothing from the other rooms.
only thing we heard was when people were walking by outside, as we were on the ground floor... but even then it was nothing to complain about or really even notice.

good idea Shelly.... thank you guys... it's not set in stone yet that we r going to POP but if i can save some money i think that would be great and the resort itself doesn't look bad. It's just that i LOVED CBR... we'll see what happens but i'm doing research now so once the rates for next year come out i can book right away.

I know what you mean about CBR Mari. It's hard for anything to live up to it. I think everyone has a resort that they feel that way about. The more I think about it the more I am really relieved that we are going to CBR again finally. Have you seen these pics of the pool construction?

http://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts_news.htm

I am just going to be really mad if I get a code that is only good for Values! But I think most of those offers can be used on a moderate for more money. . .

i don't know if i am doing something wrong or what - but i am still coming out with $3000 for a value resort during regular season with deluxe dining.

any suggestion - granted - this is with no codes or anything yet and it is going through disney - but i am so confused.

i know that is is probably... correction - definately the dining that is putting me over the top - but i feel like this is not that much less than what we paid last time and we went for a really long time and stayed at a moderate ... :headache:

nevermind - my link didn't work - - - i suck today :sad2:

i am gonna keep trying to figure this out - i'll see you guys later on!

have a great night!!

Thanks Mari!

Everything??? OMG!

Oh yea, I have been to Guatemala twice, stayed in Guatemala City and Antigua. Planning to go soon? Beautiful country.

How many days are you staying? Does that include airfare?

RF- go ahead and book now- I always book early and send payments along every payday- then when a code comes out (they always do- never ever pay rack rate!) they can apply it towards your trip.

as far as the walls go- yep, they are thin in the values.
HOWEVER....
they aren't any more thin than an expensive ($400+/night) hotel we stayed at before where EVERYTHING could be heard---
Including a woman yelling out at 3am "Ride em cowboy..." and "Yee-Haw" finished off with a rebel yell. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

(I'm totally serious.)

OMG.......
I'm dying over here.

Have great night, MAYers,
and please refrain from letting your inner CowBoy (Or Girl) get the best of you.

OMG I just got an email offer ~ I just about fell off my seat with excitement ~ then I read the dates. Bummer. :sad2: The offer is $99 a night at CBR!! Too bad it is for dates in August and September. Crap! And it says at the bottom, click here for other resort rates. But they just had to put CBR as the featured resort!! They are just taunting me! :rotfl:

Hi Everyone!

Hope all is well with you. This morning we finished the show. I went down there for most of the morning, then we had lunch at the buffet AGAIN. (Don't freak out Jo.)

The we took the tram over to MGM Grand. We saw the lions. They looked hot, old and tired. We played craps there and lost, so we decided to come back to Mandalay Bay. As we were walking back in, there is a convertible BMW on top of a rounder of slots, so I told my DH, let's play these because I would love to win that car. So I put in $5 in the penny slot machine, DH put in a $20. DH pushed his slot button once and his machine kept dinging. It dinged the whole time it took me to loose my $5. He ended up with $67. He said, "you know if we were playing $1 slots, I would have won $6700.

POP - We never heard any noise in our room. We did have connecting rooms so we always had a quiet neighbor on one side, our selves. :rotfl: We didn't stay preferred. We were in the 60's each time. Once at the end of the hotel, i.e. no one walking past our room on the 1st floor. The other time we were on the 4th floor so no upstairs neighbors. We didn't even notice the toliets during the night.

The noisiest hotel at WDW we ever stayed in was the GF. We had a room by the elevator. All we heard ever night was the elevator going up and down, and dinging. We could hear the ding for each floor. :headache:

Have a great day everyone. I am going to take a nap.

do you know where you will be staying lake? i can try to look up some links for you :goodvibes

okay... I'm in trip planning mode...
not only am I thinking WDW this winter, but my girl friends and I are planning a girls weekend getaway to.....NYC!!!!!!!

I have always wanted to see Broadway on Broadway... and I mentioned it to a friend..and then a bunch of them said can I come too... so there you have it... watch out NY here comes the Canadain girls... we are thinking the end of April, so that the weather will be warming up, and a few of us have some time to save up money and vacation time... since alot of that is already used on summer and fall plans..haha

So my dear Mayers... if you have hotel suggestions, or places to visit recommendations... hand them over... HUGGIE- I know you can help.. :)

I'm so excited..... I've alreday been looking up airfare cost, as I will once again be in charge of planning and booking... it's work... but when it comes to travel ...I LOVE IT!!!

Huggie to the rescue. I can help you with whatever you need. I just saw Legally Blonde on Broadway and it was great.

morning mayers!

sounds like an awesome time NC!! win big!!! :woohoo:

thanks for the mamma mia reports guys - i kind of wanted to see it - but now i'll wait - i'm really not all that big on "chick flick" kinda movies - my friend rachel tells me all the time that i am the worst girl ever :rotfl:

we have this agreement that we get together for dinner and a movie night at one of our houses and we get to choose a movie that the other one would never watch - my next movie choices for her are 300, pulp fiction or the shawshank redemption popcorn:: and her next movie choices for me are when harry met sally, sleepless in seattle and under the tuscan sun

i am going to keep looking into prices - but DH is pretty adamant about getting DxDP again next year  - i keep telling him that we won't be eating that much anymore - but he still wants to be able to go to a lot of the signature restaurants... because in his thinking - this is the last time that we will go before we have kids and we won't be back for a long time so lets make the most out of it. :confused3 guess i can't really argue with that logic - but i will still keep looking for prices

Do you guys book a package - or book everything seperately?

I book thru my mom but I did a package. I saw Mamma Mia on Broadway and I thought it was BAD. so the movie is not on my list.

Hi Everyone - my uncle is doing much better and is going to be moved into a regular room today. They still are waiting on the CDC to find out what kind of infection it is. What they thought were tumors before they did the surgery was actually abscesses. Thank goodness there was no sign of any cancer either. We are so glad that he is on the road to recovery.
So glad your uncle is doing well.

I just got the kids 7 T-shirts, 2 pajamas, and 2 sunglasses for $61 and that included tax and shipping on Disney Shopping!! :woohoo:

YOU GO WITH YOUR AWESOME SALES:banana:

Ok, the 2 times we stayed at Pop it was quiet, but we stayed 4th floor and the 50's section which was AWESOME!! I loved it there.

Sorry. You know my mom was telling me that she got a travel agent deal and we almost booked a 4 day package for next month, but then I decided not to. I like to plan ahead of time. ;)
