I KNOW!!! I was up until 1:30 am and I had to be at work at 7:30 :rotfl2: Everyone played amazing last night - that was a ROUGH game. YEEEAAAHHH!!! My boys are coming home!! :lovestruc

Katie - I don't know if you know, but they have been opening our arena for a $5 fee for fans to come and cheer when we are away during the playoffs and they put up a screen outside for fans to come and watch outside when we are at home... Last time we were home I heard that there was 8,000 fans outside (on top of the 17,000 inside:eek: )!!! :scared1: They had to shut down Grant street (one of our busiest streets) downtown!

I heard pens fans raised over 100,000 for the mario lemieux foundation to find a cure for cancer :goodvibes so, no matter what happens this playoff run has been awesome all around!

Day 8 - Saturday May 17 - Going home :(

How depressing, departure day. But we had a nice week and the heat was really starting to get to us, so I guess we were ready to go home. And DH NOW decides that he agrees with me - we should go to WDW in the winter!! :rotfl: The ME bus was scheduled to pick us up at CSR at 1:15 for our 4:20 flight. We called and asked for a later check-out time and they extended it from 11:00 to 12:00-noon. So we decided to make the most of our day and sneak in a couple of more rides before we had to go home. The 2 rides that we all agree on and love are Soarin and Test Track, so we take the 8:15 bus to Epcot! :goodvibes Got there by 8:30 and waited. They let us in at 8:45 and we got almost to the rope to see the opening. As soon as they dropped the rope we headed for Soarin. Got on there fairly quickly and rode & then it was off to TT. The wait time said 20 minutes. We went in and got up to the front of the empty line and the CM said we could go on into the room where they do the preshow, it had already started. Awesome!! Took another great ride on TT and then DS6 wanted to go to Club Cool since we had missed it Monday. He loves those disgusting pop's from around the world!

Then it was back to CSR to pack up the final few things. Went to Pepper Market for lunch, the first time all week we actually got decent service there! Then went out to the ME pick up spot around 1:00 and there was a bus just about loaded and ready to leave so DH asked if we could take this one and we could. No other stops, just straight to the airport. The driver was nice and played a little Disney trivia with the passengers. Got to the airport and walked around a bit and waited and waited. . . . Pretty soon it was time to board the plane. It was around 4:00. Flight was scheduled to leave at 4:20. Never left until 4:45 due to "luggage issues" (which I now think was my luggage being ripped apart  ) Got to Pittsburgh around 6:45 but were never left off the plane until about 7:10, waited on our luggage for about 40 minutes, and then well you know the rest of the luggage story! Went outside and it was 54 degrees  , it was 94 when we left Florida! What a difference.

:cool1: All in all a successful trip! :goodvibes Probably won't go again in May, it was just too HOT this year. Here's hoping for a Jan/Feb trip!! :wizard:

Hey everyone! :goodvibes Busy last week of school here. DS6 had his kindergarten program this morning. I am going on DS9's field trip tomorrow. Thursday is the kindergarten picnic. Friday is the last day and ice cream parties and early dismissal! :faint: I'll be glad when this week is over!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Shelly - Your trip report was awesome. Thank you for sharing with us the pics and your experiences. I am so glad you were able to meet up with Mari, Huggie, Sulley and their families. It was fun to read and see how much your family enjoyed your WDW vacation. I hope you are able to go back soon.

Aww, thanks Sea! :goodvibes I enjoy writing about my trip, but I figured that no one else but the MAYers would like hearing about it!

I'm so glad that I got to meet up with Mari, Huggie, and Sulley too. Who knows, maybe someday I will make it to DL!! :wizard: I'm thinking 2010 could be the year!

Did you try the "Beverly"??? That is the worst stuff ever! :rotfl2:

100_4207.jpg

Probably, I think we tried most of them. And they were as gross as I remembered from last year! :scared1: There is one that has a watermelon taste that's not totally disgusting, but the rest are nasty. Not for DS6 though, he just kept drinking away!! :drinking1

DAY 3 - DHS

OK - so we did not believe anyone when they said "take it easy your first day or two" - and boy, we PAID for that today!:faint:

So, we woke up today at 6 am to give ourselves enough time to go and eat breakfast at Boatwright's and then make it to DHS by ropedrop. We get in line when they should be opening at 7 on the nose... they are a little behind so we had to wait about 15 minutes for our waffles (which were not great - i think because we were like 3rd in line and they were just opening and the iron wasn't quite ready) so they were raw in the middle  YUCK! so I go get a danish and we get on our way.

The bus pulls up to DHS a little after 8 and DH is like "Oh good job honey, now we have an hour to wait" :worried: But then we look towards the gate and see some people already waiting - "see - i told you! :yay: people don't mess around in disney" (we were completely unaware that there was an am extra magic hour so that was a total shock when we see that there is like a million people there already)

So we get in the gates and there was this really cute older cast member that stops as us when we were walking in and comments on the newlywed hats. So he pats DH on the shoulder and says "Son, I have been married for 21 years and I only have one piece of advise..." so he opens his empty wallet and shows it to us and says "get used to it"... :rotfl2:

So as we are walking down the street where rope drop is going to be, we see three cast members on their walkie talkies and I hear them say "Ok, here they come - I see them" and he is looking right at me... huh???
SO - NATURALLY - I think of NC's story about being the chosen ones to open the park... My heart sinks (for the second time this trip)... the CM calls for everyones attention and says "LOOK EVERYONE!!! There are some newlyweds in the house! Everyone give them a big round of applause"... awww - people are too sweet when you wear those hats:goodvibes

Then the CM says all the rules "no running etc..." and tells us all that they will be opening up and tells us to follow the CM's to RNR and TOT. So naturally we follow... I ask DH which he wants to do first and tell him that we'll grab a FP for the other... He says "RNR - so we start to head there and realize that it's filling up quick - so we say oh well - we don't really want to waste precious time going to TOT for FP'S so we get a FP for RNR and get in the stand by line... we only waited about 5 minutes & IT WAS AWESOME!!! My DH said that it was his favorite ride at WDW (besides EE - but we'll get there next installment :goodvibes )

We get off the ride and head over to TOT where there is an angry mob standing outside of the still closed gates  - I guess that they were having trouble with the ride and kept telling people "it'll just be a few more minutes" well, by this point people were yelling and leaving the line and DH and I took advantage and got in line ... literally 2 minutes later the gates opened and we went right in!!! Less than a 5 minute wait there too!!! :woohoo: so it's now like 8:20 and we already did the two biggest attractions that there are :rolleyes1 ... hmmmm hmmmm hmmm ...:rolleyes1

so next we head over towards the muppet 3-d theatre and see that (it's cute but NOTHING compared to phillharmagic) so, we just kind of walk around everywhere taking pictures and went on the great movie ride.

Our lunch reservation was at 50's Prime Time at 11:30 and it was sooo cute inside the restaurant - for anyone who hasn't been there when you go inside the whole place looks like a home in the 50's - they have couches and tv's and older decorations. They even have "dad's bar" :goodvibes with a mirrored back and old vinyl chairs - it's really fun in there! Our server was "Uncle Tommy" and he made us set the table and yelled at us for having our elbows on the table. :rotfl: I ordered Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens with a chocolate shake and DH ordered a chicken caesar salad with a strawberry shake. The food was pretty good - but the atmosphere was definately what made this restaurant... I think the cutest part was when they brought the dessert menu (which we were way too stuffed to have) it was a view finder  - it was so fun and it was a really fun touch. As we were leaving "Uncle Tommy" yelled "Hey you kids! NO TOWER FOR AN HOUR!! and be home before the street lights come on!!!" :lmao:

After lunch we were soooo exhausted that we just left and went back to our room. I usually never can sleep in the afternoon, but we both slept from 2 until about 5!! :rotfl:

We woke up from our beauty sleep and got ready to go to epcot for our dinner reservation at Coral Reef. When we got to Epcot - we went to see Finding Nemo and we just walked around Future World. We were still feeling kinda drained so we just sat next to the fountains in front of Imagination! and watched some families playing in the fountains - there was this cute little girl in a belle dress drenched head to toe yelling, "Look! I'm a princess!" :cutie:

We went to our reservation at Coral Reef and the food was excellent! We both started with the lobster bisque and I had the Mahi Mahi and the sorbet(yuuummmmyyy :yay: ) and DH had the Crab Legs and the chocolate cake. That was a really cool place with the aquarium and everything - the sat us right up on the glass and gave everyone a fish spotting guide :) and then after dinner we took a leisurely stroll back to our bus and went home to get ready for the AK the next day!!!

Oh, how fun! We love the 50's Prime Time. If you get a good waiter it is really fun.

I thought you guys would have a really good chance to get picked for family of the day at DHS. If the park opened at 8:00 AM, you have needed to be there at 7:00 AM. Then your DH would have really been ticked! The day we got there at 8:00 AM and were chosen as the family, my ds was just like your DH, making comments about how once again we would have to wait for an hour. :rolleyes1 But who had the last laugh on that one!

Great report on your day at DHS!

2010 would be a fantastic time to come out and visit DLR and California. I know DL will be celebrating it's 55th birthday and there should be some special things going on the whole year.

Let me know if you (or any other Mayers) need any brochures or information on DL and other attractions, and places and cities to visit in California I can send your way.

We are winners again!

My son won Toy Story Mania preview for next Monday afternoon. So it looks like we will all be going then rather than on my day, since we can go anytime between 3 and 9 pm. I will be taking pictures and video.

Morning all....

Shelly - I just hated leaving on my last day in WDW... such a sad moment for me. This may was hot i want to try a different time of year next time we go... we'll see what happens....

Sea- I can't wait for video's and photo's of Toy Story Mania....YAY

Good morning Mayers! As usual, only have a minute, gotta head off to work :(

Well, I'm grateful to have a job, I certainly need it and it pays the bills. But I miss the days of being a stay at home mom, too...not like that wasn't a full time job! But at least it was a full time job getting things done for my own family. I feel like every weekend I try to play catch up around here, and I'm only treading water, KWIM? Not a whole lot seems to get accomplished, at least not a whole lot that's noticeable

Really loving everyone's trip reports and wonderful pics. It's keeping my enthusiasm going for our trip, even though it's still months away. Seems like forever right now, but I know it will eventually get here.

Where in the heck is Jo? And JC? I hope they haven't been captured by the little green men from the Buzz Lightyear ride!
